  1. Do you even know what a blank is? If the new mojo rod and rage rods use the same blank as the avid how do you explain the different lengths and actions?
  2. It is not the same blank. Just because you say period doesn't make you correct. If the avid and rage blanks are the same then show me a 7'1" medium fast avid spinning rod.
  3. They are definitely not the same blank as the avid. Thats like saying the rage was built with the same blank as the Avid. The new mojo rod blanks are made in mexico. If they were built on the same blanks as the avids then the lengths, power, and actions would be the same which they aren't. They are just using the same sclll material that the avids are made with to make the blanks. They look like great rods though, I'll definitely be buying a few.
  4. It's not the same blank the avid is made with, just the same material.
  5. I wish I would have saved all my bass pro catalogs from the 80s and 90s. They would be really interesting to look at now. Hey Hootie, what were the most expensive rods in your early 80's catalogs?
  6. Yes I have plenty of newer Shimano reels. And no they are nowhere near the quality they used to be.
  7. So are the non hagane reels designed to fall apart with continual use and extreme abuse? I wish shimano would go back to making reels like the d series chronarchs and curados. Now those were reels that were truly designed to withstand continual use and abuse! I wish I would have bought extras and saved them back then. Same thing with the daiwa fuegos (spinning snd casting).
  8. Hagane is just another one of Shimanos silly "concepts". Didn't you guys get that memo?
  9. 46.93?! Forget that. I guess I won't be getting a spare spool. I ordered 2 spools for my fj's a few years ago and They were under 30 bucks.
  10. I just called shimano again today and they said to check back in late March. Typical shimano customer service lately.
  11. Zoom finesse worm and poor boys drop shot darter
  12. That rod is fine for Texas rigs. It's definitely not a parabolic action, it's a moderate fast action. I have two and they are the most versatile rods I own. Plenty of backbone to set a hook with plastics or a jig.
  13. You're going to have to contact shimano but I doubt they have parts available for the fk. I wanted an extra for mine too, but they said parts weren't available yet.
  14. Pfluger supreme size 25. Most daiwa reels over 60 bucks have an aluminum frame.
  15. The 1000 size sustain also has a graphite frame vs aluminum on the bigger sizes.
  16. The 1000 size fj was all graphite. Not sure about the new fk Good luck trying to figure out if the new fk 1000 is graphite or not like the fj was. I'd stick with the 2500. There are really no advantages with the 1000 size. The 2500 fk is pretty light and balances well on most spinning rods. The 2500 has a higher line retrieval rate and a larger spool diameter, which is a plus when using fluorocarbon or mono.
  17. I like the smallest size yum craw papi. An erie darter jr makes a great finesse jig trailer also.
  18. That one doesn't look very old to me. I think the old ones with the diving lip made out of a different material are the valuable ones. I will say that the build quality of rogues has gone way downhill in the past decade.
  19. The citica g has been discontinued for a long time.
  20. That's strange. I live 60 miles south of Chicago and it's in the 1.60 range here. I'm surprised it's cheaper closer to the city than it is here.
  21. My wife likes fishing just as much as I do, but only because it gets me out the house and she can do her thing. Lol. A bottle of wine helps too...
  22. Italian sausage is one of my favorites. I cook them on charcoal with the peppers and onions in a cast iron skillet next to them. I get my italian sausage from a place in chicago that pretty much only makes Italian sausage and it's AWESOME! It's a 40 mile drive but well worth it. You gotta have a good chewy crusty roll to put it on too. Now I'm hungry lol.
  23. Italian sausage and brats with onions and peppers on the grill if it's not in the teens or below. Homemade Italian beef if it's too cold to grill. Maybe both if I'm feeling ambitious.
