  1. The only other thing I can think of is keep an eye out on ebay for a spare pedal and try to get it to work. It has all the wiring you need and a mechanical means of moving something, so it's probably not a bad starting point. I found a motorguide pedal on there for my buddy and it ended up selling for $30. Thats not bad for something to experiment with.
  2. I bet your boss loved that. ;D And as far as the big bass question, I can tell you they're not in Jersey.
  3. You might have better luck transom mounting a bow mount with foot control. It would actually be pretty easy. Chop off the mount and install the transom mount. Might take a little figurin' but shouldn't be too hard. Those things can be taken completely apart so if you are mechanically inclined, I bet you could pull it off.
  4. Dude, can you Pm me with info on your old boat. I know a couple fellas that need a boat.
  5. Both. I keep my gear in my truck and fish whenever I get a chance.
  6. It keeps the beer cold, right?
  7. I think I am the only person that ever liked that stuff. Everywhere I've read says it's junk, but I never had problems. I've switched to something with a better reputation and have had no prolems with that either (p-line cxx). I would rather not take chances. I think Berkley may have repackaged their Ironsilk and that may be why it's on sale. Just be careful because if that is the case, it may have been sitting on the shelf for a while.
  8. I thought the secret was Jersey Riggs (sorry, bad joke from the general bass page).
  9. The cheapest yet not ugly ones are the ones I get. For some reason it seems a break sunglasses like it's cool. They seem to be the only thing that constantly break or gets lost. Yeah, BPS specials are the way to go for me.
  10. Megabass vision 110 in some crazy rare color. It's like lobster stuffed with filet mignon stuffed with caviar.
  11. Good job man. It seems all you catch are giant fish!! She's a pretty one too!
  12. Agreed. Maybe something like this. 1. Water Temp 2. Water Clarity 3. Light Condition 4. Barometric Pressure 5. Solunar Just a stab.
  13. Nice fish. It sure beats breaking one off on the last cast!
  14. A bunch of different theories. :-? Maybe we should try to figure out how relevent the barometric pressure is, instead of the effects of bar pressure. Maybe in relation to other natural forces. So, let me ask. What are the most important natural forces(air temp, water temp, water clarity, solunar, etc.)? Maybe a prioritized list. I would go first, but I don't have the knowledge to share. Sorry guys. Anybody else wanna give it a crack?
  15. Any news on the release of the alphas 150? Specs or dates? I read there was an April release date, but thats all I could find.
  16. I agree and would add that as bass get bigger they don't taste the same. I would say 3 or 4 pounds is the biggest I would eat.
  17. I do the same thing when I fish from shore. Bag of Senkos in my pocket, spare hooks in my license holder and I'm good to go.
  18. I've also read that a suspending fish will react to bar pressure by suspending at different depths. This has to do with the swim bladder that allows them to suspend and you will see an almost immediate response to air pressure change whereas an air temp. change may take days to effect the water temp. Found this with a quick google. Hope it helps. STORM FRONTS Barometric pressure influences a fish's use of it's swim-bladder. The bladder is used to maintain the fish's position with minimal expenditure of energy. Low barometric pressure makes it difficult for fish to remain at mid-depths and they tend to sink to the bottom and go into a negative behavioural mode. High barometric pressure allows fish to remain at any depth it chooses with only the slightest movement of its fins. GOOD FISHING slowly rising barometer provides best fishing and a sudden, fast-falling barometer prior to a summer storm front also produces good fishing conditions. BAD FISHING a low or high barometer that stays constant for several days turn off fishing action.
  19. That is definetly the same fish! Who's gonna catch her next?
  20. It might be a little cold in mid-missouri this time of year for a top water bite. Wait for it to warm up a bit before getting anymore frustrated. When you do get that thing going, cast, let it sit a while then give three little tugs and reel in the slack. Repeat until you've walked it all the way back to the boat (and I mean all the way. I've had plenty of fish hit at the boat!). It should bob in a left right left motion. It's called walking the dog. Vary the cadence and speed untill you find what the fish are looking for. Generally speaking the more aggresive the bite, the quicker the retrieve. When the bite is real hot, you can really rip it back. Whatever you do, don't give up! Topwater fishing is ridiculously fun and real exciting. Good luck.
  21. Looks good man. I like the baseball bat idea. Cutting the bench to make tackle storage is clever too.
  22. Welcome rookie. Size the hook to the bait. A 3" craw would probably go with a 2/0 hook. I would also texas rig it. These are 3 basic rigs I would learn and should put you on the right track. There are a ton of articles on here and while they may be helpful, sometimes it's hard to find exactly what you are looking for. Feel free to ask questions.
  23. I know that feeling well.
  24. Antares DC or Steez. Those are your only options for that particular rod. Just kidding. Find a couple in your budget and ask opinions on each. You will definetly get input from these guys.
