  1. First tattoos are great! Bring somethig to drink(gatorade, vitamin water) and tip well. You won't be forgotten. It was 2 years between my 2 last tattoos (been going to the same place 10 years) and after the last one, my tattoo guy invited me to see his band that night and put me, my buddy, and my girl on his bar tab. It was a lot of fun. Good luck.
  2. It's been "on sale" at that price since at least july. Thats when I was looking around. Finally ended up picking that combo up in August. It's agreat combo for that price!
  3. Concrete blocks are cheap and heavy. Get creative with them and some cord. I'm not sure the placement matters to much because the point is to create a new habitat. I wouldn't drop them in a water depth you don't feel comfortable fishing in.
  4. Didn't really use them much. We launched the boat and my buddy got one on an x-rap. I had the thing on for 2 casts. They are a different consistancy and rubbery-er. Swims nice and has a nice fall. Sorry for the crappy info, but thats all I got.
  5. I got a pack and I'm gonna try them out. I don't think it's the right bait for today, but when I get back I will at least let you guys know how they move and look. Later.
  6. General Contractor/Carpenter in New Jersey. Been in business for myself for 6 months now. I fish whenever I want, but only if I have time, which equals never! >
  7. It's off topic but, I LOVE your avatar pic. I was looking at Les Paul Double Cuts last year. Couldn't afford it though.
  8. Welcome. Where are you located?
  9. Me an my buddies usually go to one in Suffern, NY. The same promoters have it all over too, so you can catch it in a town near wherever is easiest. Try a google search too.
  10. In response to the what did you learn this year post, I wanna know what people are gonna work on next year. I've got a couple. 1. Learn to fish from the boat (just got mine in the water this year). 2. JIGS!!! 3. Pitching and flipping. 4. Patience 5. Theres a few knots I wanna get down. Thats a start.
  11. I've learned that when you can't figure it out for yourself it's cool to ask for help (i found BassResource.com)! I've also learned that I'm gonna be spending a lot more money on fishing now that I know what I'm doing!! I worked a lot on the baitcaster (if you only bring the baitcaster, you will use the baitcaster). X-raps are awsome and pike like them so much they kept a few of mine. I'm sure theres plenty more.
  12. Welcome aboard. Stop postin, an get fishin!
  13. I've had good luck with GYCB cut tails, smoke (no flake). They are a little smaller.
  14. Welcome aboard.
  15. Donde esta la MOJO?
  16. I thought the smak was a Japenes Viento? I know it has a twitchin bar.
  17. New release reel. It looks like an alphas. Anyone have any more info on this reel? I googled and nothing relevent came up other than the original ebay ad where I found it.
  18. YES!!!!! Departed rocked!!! Awesome movie.
  19. Go with the Citica/Extreme setup. I have that exact combo and love it. It's a better reel and a better rod. It used to be 169.99. I got it for 139.98 too. Can't beat that price.
  20. I was drifting for walleye using a worm harness and started getting bit. I set the hook and started reeling in. All of a sudden the fish got real heavy. I figured he saw the boat and got spooked. I got him closer to the boat, and saw his belly. My buddy had the net and we realized we saw the belly cause there was a nice size pike tearing up my fish. The first fish (a smallmouth) was on the back hook of the harness. The pike hit him again and I set the front hook on the pike. The pikes teeth cut the rear hook off but we netted the pike. He was a little over 5 pounds. It all happened in a matter of seconds and it was pure chaos on the boat. Neither one of us ever expected any of that. Craziest thing I ever saw while fishing.
  21. Another thing to think about is the bass detecting the float on the strike. If it's to heavy they will feel that tension.
  22. When I was in Ontario this year, an old timer spoke of blue pickerel. There are claims of very remote lakes that still hold them. Supposedly another guest at the lodge was in one of these lakes and they caught one. It was a 2 day hike, or some silly story. Fishermen and their stories. After clicking on Rolo's link, I bet they wasted 2 days hiking!
  23. You can rig suckers for pike like that as well but they add a treble in the rear, steel leader, and sometimes a float a couple feet away. A lot of times it's to heavy to cast so some will release the bait then drive the boat away. My buddy goes (unsuccessfully) for 50 lb. stripers trolling huge bunker spoons. They are supposed to work great if you know where some big guys live.
  24. My name is phil and I'm here ta chill. Oh yeah, I like fishin too! The pic is in Canada and it's a rock bass on a jitterbug. I get mad at fish. >
