  1. Welcome back.
  2. I'd pull her out of that water, keep her alive as best I could, donate her to a local museum/aquarium/etc. and cash in on the record like nobody's business! Talk shows? You bet! Sponsorship deals? As many as I could wrap my greedy little hands around. A book deal detailing the momentous event and my overall love for the sport? Boy, I sure hope so!
  3. I didn't mention the super flukes because he said he had a Medium action rod. I use to use a medium action rod to fish the supers but i couldn't seem to get a good hookset, i switched to a MH and now i do fine with them. Do you have any hookup problems with a Medium action and super flukes? Not at all! In fact, I caught my personal best (the one in my avatar) on a 5' 6" Medium Light Action trigger grip casting rod (Gander Mountain's "Guide Series" Competitor). I hauled that 4 + pounder and a handful of 2 to 3 pounders all in a single morning. Rod worked like a dream. And get this: my reel was a Zebco 33 Platinum edition spincaster!
  4. Don't forget Zoom Super Flukes rigged weightless and weedless with a 4/0 EWG offset Gamakatsu hook.
  5. After reading the book: "Knowing Bass" by that Berkley scientist I can't help but respect what they're doing. The amount of research that is put into their lure development is staggering.
  6. Mine does. wow maybe something is wrong with yours cuz every single review i have seen said it doesnt swivel. is there something you have to push/pull to get it to swivel? Mine swivels too.
  7. Yup. Cathcing bluegills on tiny crankbaits is a blast!
  8. By the way, which creature bait were you using?
  9. Well, I'm not real experienced with them yet. But I've caught fish with the Zoom Brush Hog.
  10. If it's good enough for Glenn, it's good enough for me.
  11. I love Super Flukes rigged weightless on a 4/0 EWG offset Gamakatsu hook. The action these things display when "jerked" is amazing. They dart through the water erratically and, when paused, they slide into the depths the way a dying shad might. My buddies and I have been absolutely slaying bass with Super Flukes lately.
  12. Welcome to the forums and welcome back to bass fishing!
  13. Happens too often. Man, I need to get a boat...
  14. Wicked pic.
  15. I imagine that would work. However, the standard answer at this forum is a Gary Yamamoto 5 inch Senko or a Gary Yamamoto Fat Ika rigged with the skirt up.
  16. I keep small crankbaits around in case I notice panfish activity. A tiny Rapala Countdown Minnow (CD1) will absolutely slay bluegills. So will Strike King's tiny cranks (sorry, forgot their name--something like Bitsy Minnow, or something like that).
  17. For the moment, Zoom Super Flukes are my go-to bait (at least in weedy conditions).
  18. I got to try it out on a 2 pound 3 ouncer and a 3 pound 11 ouncer. Worked great.
  19. The 2nd bass I ever caught was on a Jitterbug. Tossed it out and immediately witnessed the bass shoot up from the shallows to hammer it. The bass must have seen it in mid-air because he struck right as the Jitterbug landed. That was a fun catch.
  20. Great write-up.
  21. I'm still fairly inexperienced with fishing soft plastics. However, I've recently had some success fishing Zoom Super Flukes weightless with a 3/0 or 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG hook. You can fish these baits fairly quickly with a pause, twitch, twitch, pause retrieve. And since you can rig them weedless, you can work them through grass and other areas where a Rat-L-Trap or Spinnerbait might get snagged.
