  1. Great idea! Especially since I have a lot of river action on my plate for the up coming season.
  2. Around here, during the early pe-spawn, the wild eye kicks ***, especially if fished like a jig. The rest of the season ... leave it at home. To me it is a very strange bait.
  3. In my first year of "organized" bass fishing, a good LM in a small pond hauled me into moderate cover in seconds and broke me off. I was using a spinning reel and 10# test. I started learning the bait caster the very next day! Learning to use a bait caster is fun ... by the way.
  4. Thomas Cyclone. Let it fall on a semi-slack line.
  5. I have considered fnf too - but ... wouldn't this technique produce an unbearable number of panfish? That has kept me from giving it a try.
  6. yellow perch on an Eagle Claw snelled hook baited with a gold snap swivel

  8. My worst bite? The day I learned why mangrove snappers are called snappers. The little bugger got me about six times before I could get my finger out of there, he was like a machine gun. Then again, everything in Florida bites.
  9. Nothing says "bass plug" like a big, fat hula popper. It's my go to top water for small pockets or anytime I want a slow retrieve.
  10. While wadding a pond last summer I looked down to see the head of a snake right between my legs. I t sent me running and screaming like a little girl. Turned out to be somebody's broken off Zara Spook. I wonder if that is how the "spook" got it's name.
  11. Wow! Had no idea chubs got that big. Like that Fuego as well as I like mine?
  12. I could fish half my local ponds from my patio with a cast like that!
  13. In one of my ponds you can routinely catch two incher sunnies on senkos. They get the tail stuffed so deep in their mouths, they can't spit it out. Cute.
  14. I thought I may have had a trophy small stream smallie on about a month ago. I did not have him long or ever see him. But, you've talked me out of it. I was slow rolling a mepps, and catfish will hit that on occasion.
  15. Struggling to tie a good knot in the wind only to clip the standing line, not the tag end.
  16. If they are yellow perch, try a #2 mepps.
  17. My ex caught a 6lb6oz(according to my Zebco "deliar" of the time) salt cat. I wonder if there is an angling record for those nasty things? You could have wiped a five gallon bucket of slim off that one fish. Hate 'em!
  18. I lost the trout of a lifetime using an ulta light with 4#. They are a blast! Be careful with that thing though.
