  1. Excellent advice! True, but it's hard to resist the "lets go fish!" guy.
  2. This has got to be just from kids that are afraid to take the hook out.
  3. I'd be tempted to skewer it on my stringer! /sarc
  4. Or you're a really crappy fisherman when it comes to the fight. I have caught ridiculously small dinks still sporting broken terminal tackle.
  5. Great idea. The hard nose frog is rather so so on its own.
  6. A search of this site with yield a quality answer to any bass angling question. This truly is the ultimate resource.
  7. I also see that a lot on Stony Creek near Noblesville. It can be down right comical.
  8. It's amazing how many fish are caught by satellite these days.
  9. $5? Go for it; I will never give up my polarized Oakleys.
  10. I have recently done away with all my barbs. Though it has not been that long yet, so far, so good. If you get a good hook set, you usually got him>
  11. Indiana azqSmallmouth Bass 7 lb. 4 oz. Twin Lake, Lagrange County Dana Yoder 1992
  12. Amazing what the stuff can do in an uncontrolled limp condition for a fraction of a second. But then I have found something to hate about every line I have ever tried. For example, my favorite (Stren original) stretches like a freaking rubber band. Braid has just barely enough good points to stay on one of my reels.
  13. I have been using them since the 70's when I was a teenage trout angler. Over the years I have taken many different species with them including snook and mangrove snapper (the spinner does not last long in saltwater, however). Even managed to snag a big 'ol carp with one. If I could only have one bait, the gold #2 with a skirt would be it. I rarely throw them at largemouth though, just too darn boring.
  14. I have often wondered if the way a fish behaves when hooked didn't tip off the others that something was up.
  15. Heh, my better half loves one of my Hoola Poppers because it's black and red.
  16. A crank worked parallel to the bank and bouncing along the bottom can be deadly, especially on wind blown banks or rip-rap.
  17. uni palomar non-slip mono
  18. So, so true. And the better you know it, the more fish you will take.
  19. As this awesome photo illustrates, ponds can be good place to just plain fish. Personally, I thinks most ponds hold larger fish that many anglers think, they become old, wise, selective and difficult to catch.
  20. Just my two cents: ALL spinning reels twist line. Baitcasters backlash, spinning reels twist line, "and sometimes. it rains" (Ebby Calvin LaLoush). I hate snakes too.
  21. I have been fishing my first Diawa for about a year now, and I love the darn thing. I suspect you will too.
  22. Mepps "rainbow trout" has been hot for me.
  23. I go toss a senko in the "sewer fish hole" below the ingress pipe. He's almost always there and ready to fight.
