  1. i pretty much use them all time flipping. seems like i never get snagged. especially in the nasty stuff. only time i ever use a jig now is for a swim jig or a football jig.
  2. laydowns. buck brush etc. i dont like to go heavier than a half. to hard to skip under limbs. docks etc
  3. cheap pair of polarized glasses. especially with the spawn fast approaching in many areas
  4. i have the 580g lenses from costa and love them. i like the fit of costas much better than oakley. ive had 3 pairs of oakleys and they fit a little snug and give a headache after a while.
  5. i agree. and if youre like me its not hard to make 40 dollars worth. price is hard to beat
  6. creme worm way back when
  7. yep. i was skeptical. but probably only place ill order mine through now. practically a dollar cheaper on the bigger sizes than most companys. i see no imperfections on mine and i ordered dropshot weights. barrel weights. flipping weights. and punch skirt weights
  8. http://www.omfishingsinkers.com/ straight from china. 40 dollars and you get free shipping. mine came in less that 10 days.
  9. yep we have red eye shads and seagur line on clearance. i bought 5 spools of seaguar!
  10. could you provide a couple more pictures. with better angles. one from right above it on the bow. just to get a better view of what its set up like
  11. i run have 2 hds 9 touches (gen2) on my boat. i love them. easy to use and have no problem seeing the screen. i actually bought 1 on the same sale at cabelas for 999. it doesnt come with the sidescan transucer tho. unless they changed the sale. only the downscan/sonar transducer. as far as install. its really easy. hardest part is snaking your wires/cables through. i actually put both my graphs on there own circuit. i went from the battery with 10 gauge wire direclty to an inline fuse a few inches from the battery. then to a switch at the console. then into a blue sea circuit fuse block. from there i hooked my console graph power cord directly to the fuse block. and ran 12 gauge wire to the bow graph. no voltage drops and no interference this way. and with the switch between the battery and the units i can cut all power to the graphs at any point if need be. youtube and google are your best friend with installs. you should have no problem setting them up on your own. as far as connecting the elite and the hds. i have no idea. i dont think you can share waypoints between the 2. not sure though. it it was me id buy the hds 9 and then try and sell the 2 hdi7s and buy another 9.
  12. hard telling. id take it apart and clean it up and see if that does anything. take the spool out and check where the it sits on each side of the reel. youtube has some good reel cleaning videos. if youre not comfortable taking it apart id take it somewhere to be checked out.
  13. yep this is an excellent video to watch
  14. mainly see them on facebook. havent used any as i make my own but ive seen good reviews and responses on his page
  15. somee football jigs ready to be dragged around
  16. if you want a strand in a specific spot. like front or back. or chartreuse on the sides i just get the wire looped up and ready and thrn work the strands where i want them and hold them with my fingers and tighten the wire. im not reallly sure how to explain it but the more you tie. the easier it will get
  17. love throwing a white fluke above grass early in the year. get a ton of reaction bites and a lot of good fish. i typically fish it weightless. but have thrown it on a shakeyhead with pretty good results. flukes pretty much slide across the water. and so with a baitcaster its super easy to skip up under docks in the heat of the summer and catch some giants i usually rig mine on a gammmy 5/0 ewg
  18. i usually do 2.5 to 3 tabs on big football jigs. 2.5 on all my brush jigs. 2.5 tabs and then trim out some for a finesse jig. and i use 2 tabs for my punch skirts typically. i use skirts unimited a few times a year. another good material is ventilated air trap skirting on http://www.anglersworkshop.com/Silicone-and-Rubber-Materials/Ventilated-Air-Trap-Skirt-Material not many color choices but i like the missori craw looking one amd the camo craw
  19. i like the no. eight tackle company. on sale for 80 at TW right now. of the ones you mentioned the mojo is the only one ive had experience with and IMO was a good rod for the money a falcon bucco is another good rod coming in at $100
  20. yep di and map were the 2 main features i wanted at the bow. but i figured i may have a use for structure scan at some point at the bow. who knows
  21. fun fishing. i pack usually pbj sandwiches some deer sticks and some donuts. tournament i usually just eat jerky or deer sticks when running down the lake dont drink soda and dont really like gatorade so water everyday
  22. sold a 2002 g3 pro 175 for5800 and i felt like i did good on it... i think 7000 sounds high unless it has some killer graphs. but i think you can find a better deal if you keep looking but that being said. my g3 was an excellent boat. went on plane nice and was just all around a well built boat. i never had a problem with mine at all and if i was getting another aluminum i wouldnt be afraid to look at a g3
  23. yeah im thinking about just getting 1 mounting it by the console amd linking to both units. if i can get with 10 feet of it surely i can find what im trying to fish.
