some more topwater action
thanks guys...I think she was a double spawner(post spawn) by the looks of her anal fin. I remember seeing a few fish that looked like they were getting ready last month breaking their eggs up slappin' their sides on the bottom. One of the nice things about being in Cali I've heard fish can spawn as late as Oct if not year round. A nice change being from Washington 8-)

some more topwater action
checked the forecast last night and seen there was gonna be some cloud cover. Went out for a couple of hours this mornin' and got two big blowups. One of them hooked up and it was like a great white on a baby seal I swear! Water was everywhere had I missed her I'm sure I would have said she was in her teens. She hit on a super long cast and fought all the way to the bank. She went 8.6 man I love summer topwater!

I really need help. Very frustrated.
frogs...heavy t-rigs...chatterbaits w/braid....Mattlures baby bluegill....3;16 Mission Fish...baby bass and bluegill patterns and darker colors...try fishing at different times of the day.

Favorite Shakey Head rig worm
there's so many that work...certain colors from each company tend to work around here.

swimbait getting bumped but no hook-ups...
I'm no Fish Chris but generally when I get bumped I throw back right away then let the spot cool down for a few minutes and either throw the same bait or a senko/tube. Two bumps and the fish has hit you and dropped you. It's best to set once you feel any kind of bump since the bigger fish inhale the bait. your right in switching over to mono....the stretch will buy you some patience and also be less visible...unless your ripping that thing through weeds drop the braid. As for the stinger well you could add one but with that small of a bait the fish may get the hook too deep. Try a little scent if they aren't commiting. hope this helps.

perfect day for a bit of topwater
no stripers although they are out in full force.....once the boat gets up and runnin' I'll be tryin' to punk me some stripers...can't wait put some time into the bait it does so much more than a normal walk the dog bait and imo calls more fish than say a wakebait....I'm losing count of the pigs I've had roll on it. thanks for the comments guys!

Fenwick vs Loomis vs Kistler Rods
I have to go with Dan here.....I have the He70MH and use it for c-rigs,jigs,senko's,blades,chatters....the list goes on and on...it's probably my best all around sensitive rod without a doubt. That being said my 844 IMX is second and Powell 764 third. The 844 casts a little bit more accurately with the faster tip and the Powell casts furthest. On the Kistler I use a Daiwa TDA HST, 844 a Quantum Energy Burner, and Powell Revo Sx burner...all fit very well you really can't go wrong

lost alot of lures
I agree to this saying...I used to think it was the guys at the tackle store trying to pimp out more tackle to a young n' dumb kid...depending on where I'm fishing I'll lose 2-4 jigs an outing (more from the backseat ofcouse) if I were to count the hard/soft swimbaits I've lost this year my boat would have new finders...ugh fishing hard means you have to gamble that much more

perfect day for a bit of topwater
the old "bowling ball from the sky" adage applies here...that bait I got her on casts for days she must of hit at the end of a 40yd cast....great fight!

perfect day for a bit of topwater

UMF
I think he screwed up and was excited he got on such a good bite in the 4th quarter...coupled with trying to watch the troller and keep Boyd off his spot. On slow days I know I still lose count...ofcourse I'm always thinking of the fish I want and don't have
-
UMF
he deserved the loss imo....one of the biggest classless acts in the sport. Who puts the troller on high when a guy has a fish on? who bites peoples lines when they have a fish on? he should have been dq'd a long time ago.

Got a Sponser
I am fortunet to have a product sponsor after befriending a battery wholesaler. He's put together a great team of pro's and decided he wanted to get word out through the amateur ranks :-* no paid tourneys but free Trojans and discounted gear from all the teams' pro sponsors. correction 10 paid tourneys

partner or Net Boy? What do you end up being?
net boy or stick boy is all good to me as long as the operator checks his vanity at the ramp..be it fun fishin' or tourneys...it is a bear to be back seated when you know where fish are, or know your running over them,or even worse are getting bites and the troller is stuck on HIGH....patience is a virtue as far as the back seat goes imo. I'd much rather ride 5' rollers and play 8 seconds then be stuck with someone who is inconsiderate of the money that is being put up. tournaments can bring out the worst in people.....communication is a thirteen letter word

3 packs of Basstrix for $74?!?!
I gotta say the action is much better than that of a fluke. The tail moves more water. they do fall apart since they are a soft plastic the trick is to super glue the nose or cut it off after it starts to tear and use it on an underspin or a spinner bait. I've got 5 packs left of the original B-trix and tons of nice knockoffs I can't understand why guys indulge in Ebay inflation its whack!

-
does anyone know where I can buy live rubber?
I'm looking to tie some big jigs and need some bigger heavier live rubber. Also if anyone can point me to someone who sells Arkie jigheads with either Gama or Owner hooks I'd appreciate it!

Reels for flipping and pitching
using a Powell 764 and 805 both paired with a Daiwa Advantage 153 HST. These reels just fit my hand very well. I've got a few older Daiwa's with a pitchin' switch but they just aren't as sturdy.

Big smallmouth
