  1. ^ LOL, that would be Paul.
  2. LOL, C&R threads..... Food stamps, spot burning? This is entertaining.
  3. I didn't say what I blended with. LOL
  4. I'm more concerned about the sun's effect on my eyes, not a jig. Hey, they are your eyes. I personally couldn't give two craps less. Just speaking from experience. I don't get paid by Costa or any other brand of glasses. All I can do is tell you what works for me. If you've found what works for you, great! You're so desperately grasping for something to support your "no glasses" argument that you fail to see the REAL reason people are suggesting better quality glasses. Have a good one. I'll see you in 20 years. Hopefully, you'll be able to do the same.
  5. You can't predict the damage you are doing to your eyes with either ill-fitting, poorly-made or both glasses. I've heard people complain about the price of Costas or any other premium made glasses. You know what they have never complained about after using them? Eye strain and vision problems. You buy insurance for your cars, boats, health, etc. IMO, this is like purchasing insurance for your eyes. "Oh, I'm clumsy and I tend to drop things in the water / sit on them / allow the dog to eat them / have them stolen by the Loch Ness Monster." Obviously being facetious toward the end but you get the point. If you spend money on these things and still treat them with the disregard of a pair of aviator glasses you picked up at the gas station, then I dont know what to tell you.
  6. LOL, good luck finding me. I blend.
  7. Works for me. Jeff should be up there soon, no? I know three can fit in that aircraft carrier of yours.
  8. I've been around here for a little bit. LOL I always see questions from members that may seem a bit redundant to those who have been here a while or those who are (or think they are ) on a whole other level of fishing. It is usually met with the answer "use the search function." I have used that answer. I probably will again in the future I'm sure. Has there ever been a tutorial done on how to effectively utilize the search function of this forum? I think it would be very helpful. Thoughts?
  9. Wonder what happens in places that there are no Zebes? What do they feed on at that point?
  10. Ewwww! Big words!!
  11. And I can understand that approach too. Kinda looks like a big sculpin that we see around here.
  12. Maybe since the GL waterways are so vast, the gobies have less effect on the overall breeding? I don't know, was just wondering.
  13. ^ That's what I was thinking. They reproduce prolificly as well, right? Why aren't they used as a lower level baitfish in more places? Just kinda wondering...
  14. Can you guys enlighten me as to why gobies are "bad"?
  15. LOL, glad it happened the same week that Dez B said he is on the same level as Megatron. No, son. No you're not.
  16. Don't put a ton of stock into the manufacturers ratings for rods. Much like megapixels on cameras, each company is in charge of their own ratings. I had a rod previously that was rated up to 10oz but if you put anything over 5 on it, the rod was completely ineffective for throwing a bait. St Croix is notorious for over-estimating ratings on their big bait rods.
  17. Yeah, it's a Balog bait. I'd only be buying one to try if I make a return trip to Erie. No gobies here (even though the bait would probably get bit.)
  18. To address the inability to know what is in front of you while fishing from the bank, try this: Tie on a heavy carolina rig with a tungsten weight. Fan cast the areas you have access to. This will give you the ability to "feel" what is in front of you while possibly hooking a fish or two. Drag slowly and see if there are drops, transitions in bottom contour/composition or some type of structure. Also, pay attention to your surroundings on the bank. Many times, they will give away (to some extent) what lies beneath the water. If you are fishing a quarry lake, generally the sides will slope down and step off as you get to the bottom. If you are fishing a farm pond in flat land, you're fishing a bowl for the most part.
  19. Apparently kind of like both. Dragging, hopping on bottom. Swims while you drag it.
  20. Got any thoughts on these? Saw them recommended on another site. I've got no personal experience with them but if they got down quick enough, do you think they'd get bit up there?
  21. You are correct, my comparison was the original vs 1st Gen. I believe I have one of the new Ultimates but it is still in the package. Perhaps it's time to get that out on the water. I've tied or set my PB 4 times with the hardgill since I started throwing it. Seriously, IMO, the best bluegill bait and maybe the best swimbait on the market. Couple Hardgill fish from this year.
  22. Baby, natural born, not a stockie
  23. DUDE! That's awesome! I dig big fish, regardless of species.
