Boat ramp champs and chimps
Early one weekday morning my partner and I pulled into the entrance of the ramp on the St. Johns river in NE Fl to find 2 cop cars lit up. I was thinking WTH is going on, when an officer jogged over to us and asked "how quick can you launch" my reply was about a minute, why? He pointed his mag-light to a floating car with a young girl sitting on the roof about 50 yds out and slowly drifting with the current of the river. The cop and I jumped in the boat as my partner launched us and we made our way to the frightened girl and took her back to the ramp where her boyfriend was explaining to the cops that he was teaching her to use a clutch on the ramp. We put the boat back on the trailer and went to another ramp.

Huge 5 fish bag of "summer " fish.
The St Johns Bass Anglers 2021 Night Tournament is in the (record) books! What a night. In our 51 years of existence, no one has ever weighed in a limit of bass that even comes close to what was caught Saturday night. When Mr. Pat Lanier is on Kingsley Lake, he’s always the club favorite to win, and win he did! His first fish of the night was 10.5 pounds. His second fish was his new personal best - 13.25 pounds! About twenty minutes later, he landed a 9.4 pound beauty. Number four was an 8.4 pounder. All on the same Shimano reel, which we assume now needs new drag washers. He rounded out his limit with a 1.1 pound future giant. Pat was quick to applaud Phil, his co-angler and net man who was instrumental in getting these fish in the boat. Pat’s total: 42.31 pounds. Every fish was immediately measured, documented, and safely released. Here is your Top Five: Pat Lanier 42.31- 13.25 & 10.5, 1st and 2nd Big Fish Evan French 14.56 Matt Bounce 11.06 Kevin Hanson 9.13 Buzz Broughton 8.56

- The right spot or the right bait???
In my opinion "time" or time of year dictates what location the fish are in, Shallow water feeding, offshore ledges, Docks, etc that in turn determines what bait I can most efficiently use to cover that water.- The right spot or the right bait???
So the "consensus" is place, which I agree. Can't figure why soooo many pro's went with bait.- The right spot or the right bait???
Me also.- The right spot or the right bait???

Two of 3 hooks from a POP-R, Partner used the line removal technique that worked and salvaged the day. Not sure I could have done that alone. - MLF single day record broke.
