  1. best way to get your feet wet is... http://www.americanbassanglers.com/ give them a try, they are all over the country Dale
  2. I am from Quakertown PA /just so of Allentown I fish BFL / ABA and several opens I have fished and have tourney experence on Delaware river Tidal Lake Onieda 1000 Islands Potomac River Beltzville lake Kentucky Lake Lake Champlain ( lower end ) Lake Erie ( Ny side ) Hudson River (Catskill ) Harris Chain of Lakes ( Fl ) Plus many others but I have won money on all the above. Dale
  3. do not post it...take the Numder you have to your local notary and do a tittle search ( If you don't have a Tittle and I am guessing with your questions you do not ) This will not cost you much but will answer your questions. JMO
  4. not sure but glad you found it ....and where was it ?
  5. local area fishing tourny's http://www.americanbassanglers.com/districts2008.php?district=124 Great bunch of guys and great fishing always looking for non-boaters Plus if you bring your boat you fish out of your boat!!!
  6. stamped on the transom on most boats

Robby, as a follow up it is not in your best inrerest as a non-boater to bring your own map or gps....the boaters on the trail really frown on that kind of thing.

I prefish every lake I go to long before I hit the water with sites like topozone.com and google earth..this teaches me things like water depths and weed growth. there is no substute for time on the water no matter who gives you a "sweet" spot. all fishermen are created different and fish differently so what works for one guy may not work for the next. I have been fishing 40 years all over the world and it never surprizes me how many people want a fish on every cast.... that is called shopping fishing is hit or miss no matter how good you may become !! hope this helps
  9. What ever reel you decide on learn to flip with it first. This will help you learn how to thumb the spool before oyu go for distance. Dale
  10. just cut outs with different color carpet
  11. looks like a thru-grip to me..split grip is 2 parts with a exposed blank...correct me if I am wrong. Dale
  12. IMO you are in the drivers seat at this horse power and price range.....I would never buy new. You could buy three different motors sightly used at the price you are looking at. Also if you are mounting this on a jon boat you must take the weight issue into consideration being it is a 4 stroke and they weigh more that the 2 stroke. Dale
  13. When my grandfather passed on. I took out and fished with every bait he left me, till I llost them all but one. That one I'll keep till I die but for the rest of the baits I know he was with me!!! Those baits got me a littlle extra time with him. Dale
  14. Dave, Be happy you walked away IMO this is a bait that is given to guys who cann't decide what bait to throw.. the clips will catch more grass and other debris that make a good cast aa mute point. I have been given several of these baits to try and they do catch fish,, but there are several other options out there. Again just my opinion Dale
  15. The difference is alot like your post...PROFILE...
  16. #1-copied from minnkota site FAQ General What gauge wire should I use for my trolling motor? If the incorrect gauge wire is used, there will be a voltage loss to the trolling motor causing a decrease in power and heating of the wires. Follow the steps and the chart below to determine the proper wire gauge to use: Step 1. Determine maximum amp draw of your trolling motor and round up to nearest 10. Step 2. Measure distance from the battery to the power outlet or trolling motor connection. Step 3. Take the determined length (Step 2) and multiply by two. Step 4. Select a gauge of wire you think may be applicable. 10 AWG is a good starting point. Step 5. Consult the Voltage Loss Chart to determine voltage loss per foot so you may match the wire gauge to be used. Step 6. Take the Determined Length (Step 3) x 2 = Doubled Length. Take the Doubled Length x Voltage Loss = Total Voltage Loss. Step 7. Work through equation to determine best gauge wire to be used. The best gauge selection will be matched with the lowest voltage loss. For optimum performance, voltage loss should be between zero and one, but no greater than one. Voltage Loss Chart AWG 5 AMPS 10 AMPS 20 AMPS 30 AMPS 40 AMPS 50 AMPS 4 .0012V .0025V .0005V .0075V .01V .0125V 6 .002V .004V .008V .012V .016V .02V 8 .0032V .0064V .0128V .0192V .0256V .032V 10 .0051V .0102V .0204V .0306V .0408V .051V 12 .0081V .0162V .0324V .0486V .0648V .081V Voltage Loss / Ft Example: You want to run 20 ft of wire in your boat, and the maximum amp draw of the trolling motor is 37Amps. Step 1. Round up the amp draw from 37 to 40 amps. Step 2. 20 ft of wire which is needed. Step 3. Take 20 ft x 2 = 40 ft. Step 4 . Starting with 10AWG. Check the chart above for 40 amps and 10AWG. Step 5. .0408V is charted for the voltage loss. Step 6. Take 40 x .0408 = 1.632V Not acceptable over 1V. Try 6AWG. In working through the equation it equals .064 which is under 1 volt, which is acceptable. #2 might experence problems if you are in any saltwater enviroment
  17. I like the Sizmic Propwash Toad.

  19. This has accounted for several of my larger fish on the Potomac http://www.stormlures.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=saltwater_rattlin_chug_bug&freshorsalt=Salt&type=hard_lures

I use this knot for all my walking baits http://www.boats.com/news-reviews/article/king-sling-knot
  22. Ditto what RW says. The rubber net is great because it weighs enough that you can leave it lay in the floor of your boat with out having to worry about it blowing out even at 70 mph.
  23. I am surprised that no one has mentioned Salty Spiders Made by Cabin Creek Bait Company.... Smallies love this bait!! My favorite is the green pumpkin http://www.cabincreekco.com/NEW/index3.phtml?iprod=167 Dale
  24. exactly TD THanks dale
  25. wayne you are right.... So can you tell me why my lorance unit gets fuzzy when I step on the trolling motor button? by the way it quit when I moved the lorance unit to my cranking batt Dale
