  2. http://www.evolutionlures.com/evolutionjig.swf If you watch this you'll have a good undestanding of what a trailer does
  3. I would fish the back flow areas close to the dam. I have had luck doing that here in PA. toss your bait into the flow and allow it to return into the side back flow area. Dale
  4. I'll be staying at the Inn on the green and look forward to meeting anyone from this site. Just look for the only hyda-sports boat and that would be me!! Good luck to all Dale
  5. in all honestly bend the blade till it ticks the bottom wire....this is a reaction bait and needs some tweeking..if no more than bending wire to make the blade to run left or right. As far as a trailer hook I do not use one as a grub on the hook will allow the hook to find the bass's mouth as it hits. My thoughts on this matter is a bass doesn't bite, but tries to inhale it's prey and as a bass opens it's mouth it creatats a vaccum that allows a bait or food to enter it's mouth. With that being said place mass on the hook do not just add another hook..jmo.. Dale
  6. I am saying that I picked up Esox rods as a sponser

  11. Ok follow your own statement.... 1- I firmly believe that there is a difference in the strike pattern and aggressiveness between the two strains, until enough people tell me different. if you believe this to be true then it is. No matter what others tell you, others my influnce your thoughts but you will only second guess yourself untill you believe different!! 2- Let me give you more examples of how the fishing goes in this particular lake/pond. I can go fishing, lets say 10 times. If you fished 10 times you should have a fishing log. I bet if you did you would find you caught the most fish on same moon/weather conditions 3- Six times that I go, I may not even get a bite. Two times, I may catch one fish each trip. And one time, I may catch three or four fish ranging from 3lb - 8lb. For instance, the last good day that I had at this lake, I caught 3 pounder, one or two casts later I caught 8 pounder, and couple casts later I caught 5 pounder. I don't keep any fish, I always throw the fish back immediately. I bet if you had a log you would find your own pattern as to why you did or did not catch fish and what type fish is going to be expected on what day reguardless of the moon/weather conditions . I do believe that warm all green colored bass are less aggressive during cooler temps. and for me the same is true with bronze backs in warmer waters. with this being said I also think fish must feed to survive so look around find warmmer water. (mud flats,Rocks or even burried deep in a weed bed, for the green ones...and for the smallies go deeper or find current as current provides oxygen and that inturn makes cooler temps. So as you can see knowing what I know (or believe) will make me to fish differently on different days. Your log will give you belief and make you a better fisherman. JMO. hope this helped Dale

  15. Hi Rick. Look forward to meeting you. As I see you are a director for district 99, I would like your input on the new "pro" trail. 1- with the entry fee of $500.00 for a boater do you still get to fish the regular ABA trail? 2- if I fish the BFL Stren series next year as a boater with an entry fee of $825.00 will I be allowed to fish ABA? I like the guys in ABA but as I work to improve my skill and competion level it seems like the choices are limited and or am I reading the ABA rules wrong? Sorry to ask but I do believe it needs to be addressed with other members. Thanks Dale
  16. Salty "Spider Jig" is well known for catching smallies up on lake Onieda http://www.cabincreekco.com/ Good Luck
  17. I hope that I did not offend anyone. I like Gambler boats IMO they have it all. I was just informing another about the fact that they may have hidden cost involved. Also Anglers Advantage Insurance Sponsors American Bass Anglers and gives 100 for big fish if you use them. Anyway my point was insurance cost may be somthing most do not think about and should be considered when buying a Boat. Dale
  18. Sorry I was only responding to Vorlin's post
  19. If you want to go as a non-boater and see. Most non-boaters I know even on the BFL trail say they are better than the boater and will buy a boat to fish next year. As a boater I feel I must add time on the water = fish. I was only beat by my non-boater 1 time this year and I stay in touch with all of them. Fishing is just that fishing... rare is the time you can say I am going catching. Hope this helped Dale
  20. after 17 years of marrage i learned do not let the wife see my fishing tackle and this saves me big bucks as she wants the same in shoes..lol Dale
  21. I keep 2 ancors in my boat and set up up wind from where the fish are holding thus allowing me to fish an area without the line bowing factor. I do have a few buddies that will use a float with a sinko and allow the wind to drift it over weedbeds. Dale
  22. Yes you are correct in clear water lakes after a rain the main lake fish will shut down more than the fish in a feeder stream with normal less clairity. Dale
  23. lot of good tips and baits to use but only factor left out is you need to kill the bait ( stop reeling) close to the boat. Any follow ups should crush it then. Dale
  24. Gamblers are a good boat but as you think about your purchase ask your insurance company if they will cover it as some companies will not due to the hull composite. follow the link below for proof http://www.anglersadvantageins.com/disqual.asp hope this may aid your search Dale
