BUYING NON-RESIDENT FISHING LICENSES ONLINE
here in VT, I get mine online as it is pretty painless. Quick trip across the border i get my Nh license at a Walmart. When i go to RI I go to a local tackle shop, it seems a little easier. A couple of years back I needed my Maryland license I remember it being a bit annoying to get in online. All in all, I'd rather deal with that hassle than engaging in an awkward convo with a game warden.

Time it takes a lake to thaw?
Im in southern Vermont, and I have caught fish in set backs of rivers with sheets of ice cover slowly working a jig or a jerkbait. Really slow! I always assume ice out date to be around mid April, some years are earlier, not this year

Eating bass
I prefer crappie and perch, to each their own!

Warming up
Still lots of ice here in VT, warmer for the next few days should hopefully open up a few spots.
- What Quabbin gate?

Stained Shallow River
Im in southern VT and for a few days dragging a tube was very productive. It rained one night and this usually clear river became stained / borderline dirty. The tube bite shut off. Ended up skunking that day on a river I know is loaded with smallies. In hindsight I should have thrown a few crank baits to perhaps get a reaction strike. What else is effective in these conditions?

Having Trouble Fishing A Eutrophic Lake
I fish a place that is very similar. Frogs and when those aren't working been really like Kietech Swing Impact fats on a 5/0 swimbait hook with the screw on, running it through weeds has been getting me some decent bites and its pretty weedless

Feel like I missed the spawn

Big splashes
Carp apparently get vegetation stuck in their gills from time to time from sucking muck off the bottom and they will dislodge by jumping. It's not uncommon to see 30-40# carp here in southern VT breach like they are humpback whales to do this!

Pitching at bluegill??
Pitch to everything, why not?

Bed fishing concern
True! There are some decent size bass in this particular water that I'm sure will take advantage of the well fed blue gill population and it will all work out.

Bass just slapping frog?
I've had similar happen and I think it is pike / pickerel. Might wait till some heavy pads/ mats form during the post season and bust out the frog in a few weeks.

Bed fishing concern
Lessoned learned those blue gill jumped on that bed so quickly

Bed fishing concern
Hello! I duped Mr. LMB with a jig after I dropped it in his bed. After I let him go he went to recover somewhere else. To my dismay, a gang of sunfish descended upon the bed and started gobbling down. Did I ruin this bed? I'm going to take a lok at the bed today and see what happened (caught him a couple of days ago) Feeling kinda bad about it Thoughts?
