  1. Ponds like that are great LMB producers. I have nailed huge bass from apartment complex lakes and people are amazed fish that big are in those type lakes! There are 2 man made retention ponds in my development that have produced a few double digit bass and a couple 9 pounders (these ponds are only 7 years old). And I disagree with the statement that lakes without structure will not hold big bass! Most of the lakes here in Florida are large bowls with very little structure and they still produce! Add some structure like Sam said and you will definitely increase you odds of catching more fish! On a side note, when I did fish small lakes like that, the homeowners had pvc pipe run into the lake for their sprinkler systems and this was the only structure on the lake... I would key in on the PVC and catch 2 or 3 from each pipe... Have fun!
  2. 12" Swimbait ;D j/k There are soooo many factors that would determine your approach! I would think a specific situation would get you better answers.
  3. Welcome to the family!
  4. Sweet! Great pic! Was there an article? If so, can you post it or maybe there is a link?

One question Avid... Did it have a picture of Muddy after the definition? ;D ;D ;D
  6. I have a BPS 45 minutes to an hour from me(depending on traffic)... I buy most of my stuff there. The problem I find is that my BPS doesn't always have some of the catalog items or the popular items are sold out. I find that I buy a lot more from their website now!
  7. Great fish Dan! Wish we were getting some rain down here... The lake dropped another foot!
  8. The only jokes here are on the "Everything Else" section and most of the time when Muddy posts ;D ! Anyway, nice fish! Once you get the first one, it can only get better from there! Keep it up!
  9. Nice to see another "fishing with dad" post! Good luck on Monday!
  10. Nice smallies! Looks like you guys had a blast!
  11. I have a 5'-6" UL and L with spirex 500's on them. I use them for Bass too! I have landed numerous Bass between 5 and 8 lbs. on them. You just need to play them out a little more than when using a larger rod and reel. Have fun with and I really don't recommend fishing heavy cover with it
  12. That is a beautiful musky!
  13. Great story! Thanks for sharing your experience!
  14. Hi!

    Hi! Welcome to the family!
  15. This week sucked for me... but this made it all better!!! Thanks LBH for the video and thanks Muddy for the story!!! ;D
  16. I don't dream about fishing. If I can't fall asleep, I think about fishing and that helps me go to sleep.
  17. I usually downsize my bullet weight and use a larger plastic when using my baitcaster. If I am using my ultralight, I go weightless.
  18. Sorry... I would have helped but I have limited experience fishing during the spawn (sight fishing). The lake I fish is shallow, has a muck bottom, and the visibility is about 6 inches. Like I said before, you figured it out on your own and that can be very rewarding! Coming here and seeking advice is great but sometimes spending time on the water is the best education you can get!
  19. Thanks for the info on the shiners! It is cool watching other people catch fish. My brother just recently started fishing and it is neat to see how excited he gets when he hooks up!
  20. Shiner fishing or artificials? Those are some nice Lake Tarpon Bass!!!
  21. Sounds like a good day! Is your friend's girlfriend really named Madonna? Like the material girl?
  22. I am very sorry for your loss! Much too young to pass on! Life is short enough... make sure you (everyone) tell your loved ones how much you love them now!
  23. Looks like you and Randall have a gold mine there! Why are you pointing at me in the pic telling me I should move to GA and fish Varner everyday?
  24. Great attitude Matt! I had a 7 foot gator nail my swimbait today... didn't know he was submerged near the overhanging tree. I ran the swimbait under the tree, he hit the lure, started ripping line off the reel, let the lure go and popped his head out of the water. I thought I had a lunker and it definitely was for 45 seconds!!! Didn't catch anything else but there is always tomorrow!
