  1. You're gonna go with the inferior rod because of the looks?
  2. "There is a rule of thumb but that rule gets broken a lot." Good advice.
  3. type "blasphemy" in the search bar, make sure it's set to "all content," you'll have no problem finding it
  4. it sounds like the issue is that you hadn't figured out how to fish it yet, then you just got unlucky and the hook broke. i guess you could replace the hook yourself but if i were you i'd call r2s instead of just posting on here
  5. I bet R2S would replace it if you called them
  6. I did that with the largest size Cordell red fin, caught about a 10" bass on it
  7. Been waiting on it for a year - finally got it. It turned out great (the mouth is smaller than it should be though)! HERE is info on the fish
  8. Costa has Large and Extra Large frame options
  9. gandermountain.com here's all the info...
  10. Cordell CC Spoon 1/2oz
  11. Are you using mono? Also try reeling slower
  12. Unless a rod "off the shelf" meets your specifications & requirements... I think that argument is less and less applicable as more manufacturers have been putting out technique specific rods. There are so many options that I've never found myself needing a custom. Maybe if I only bought from one brand it would be an issue, or maybe i need more sophisticated preferences!
  13. Same. 3 years ago my parents sent me to college with 1 rod & reel, now I've got over a dozen... and none of em are cheap ??
  14. Here's a free shipping code for Dicks that they emailed me, i'm not gonna use it: FSH4AG1KM
  15. 4 notifications for me. They're all different tracking numbers from different places, insanity! I'm guessing they have different distribution centers or they ship some stuff out of store warehouses.
  16. Interesting point. I see how that could be problematic, especially if you're new to fishing and you're trying to match lure weights to rod ratings. You could be wayy off if you add a decent sized trailer to a jig, plastic is deceptively heavy. All that being said, there's no need to stick super close to rod ratings, just use whatever works in the situation
  17. For me, if I'm targeting giants I want a hudd or other big bait. Giants have no problem eating an 8" or larger bait. So for me, there's no need to throw a 6" hudd. If I'm targeting "tournament sized" bass or whatever, I don't believe that a hudd is better than other, cheaper weedless baits. I sold my 6" hudds - I just never threw them. Because the "big bait theory" is that monsters prefer big meals and they are harder to fool, so the big, natural presentation is key. Now of course this is just my opinion, there are people who will disagree with me and that's okay, but the only Hudds that I have are 8 inchers.
  18. Same here, kind of a funky website. TW is still the best by far when it comes to functionality
  19. @MassYak85 I believe so. At least that's what I'm going to do
  20. Yeah I just ordered 16 bags 11 ripple shads and 5 power worms. It's really a good price as is, but I'll gladly take the $40 check in 6-8 weeks!
  21. DSG has some powerbait at 4 bags for $10, powerbait has a $10 rebate if you buy 4 bags. So after the rebate comes in, FREE BAITS! You can use up to 4 rebate forms. So 16 free bags of baits
  22. Caught em on an H&H yesterday Throwing it on an Aldebaran and a Medium-Lite St Croix Premier, lots of fun
  23. Cool study. I wonder if bass would shake it just as easily. Probably so...
