Swimbait Rod
Let us know how you like it! I might pick up one myself this season but I have yet to hear many reviews yet. I want to make sure it can actually handle the upper end of it's lure rating.

Swimbait Rod
If you go with the Okuma get the XH if you plan on throwing 8" hudds. It says 1-6 it's really more like 1-4.

~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
Cowboys lose to Green Bay --> Green Bay Loses Falcons --> Falcons lose to Patriots ---> Therefore Cowboys would have beaten Patriots? With that logic I could make a case that the Browns should have won the superbowl.

That's how they played all year. They put up huge numbers on teams all year and sat back and watched them try to bridge the gap. It's not over until the clock reads 0:00 and no one knows and lives by that mentality more than Brady.

Hopefully this fishing season will be as exciting as that game was I know we've all got some personal records to break ourselves.

Also, finally the Pats get a SuperBowl circus catch to go their way with Edleman. That was more incredible than the Helmet catch and the Seahawks two years ago.

31 unanswered points...to overcome the largest deficit in super bowl history...to win in the first superbowl overtime in history....to win the most superbowls of all time. Folks I don't know if we'll ever see a better superbowl in our lifetimes...and I'm 19.

Why Do You Fish
Being out on the water and in nature is a big part of it, but that alone doesn't satisfy "the itch". The things that do are that feeling of fooling the fish into biting a piece of plastic and of being connected directly to the fish. I think that's why I like the initial bite and hookset more than actually landing the fish sometimes.

not wasting bass
Usually I'll keep fish I know are going to die if I'm able to preserve them until I can get home. I think bass tastes fine if you do something to it, plain I don't think it's all that great. I didn't keep any bass last year but I did have a decent sized perch inhale a small jerkbait down into it's throat and there was no way I could remove it without killing the fish, and had I left it in there it wouldn't have been able to eat so I filleted it and had it for lunch. It was pretty good.

Your favorite Lures and rigs
Usually I have the best luck with mine fishing them around shallow cover and bumping them into stuff. A little bit of wind helps.

I'm the only person in the world who hates Lew's
I have a Speed Spool LFS and a BB-1 Pro and I have no complaints so far with either. LFS I've had a few years now and other than needing to replace a part in the side plate (completely my fault) it hasn't given me any issues. The Pro I got for like half off so it was purely an impulse buy, so far I like it but it hasn't seen much action.

The Falcons were the team from the NFC I wanted to see win so even if the Pats lose part of me will be happy we lost to the Falcons and not one of the other NFC playoff teams.

Lead restriction/Tungsten jigs
Yea I'm not tossing them that's for sure. I'm not sure where I'll end up after college or even over the summer. Worst case I'll probably sell the lot if I end up staying in-state.

Lol what happens to these memes if he wins tomorrow? They're still pretty funny even as a pats fan though. It still amazes me it's been 2 years since deflategate with it constantly being in sports talk it seems so recent, time flies I guess. Heck even my Dynamics professor had us do an assignment on it last week, doing calculations of the footballs with the ideal gas law. Apparently he knows this guy and hence the assignment he gave us: I don't really want to debate it though, I think we're all past that. Anyone got any last minute score predictions though? I'm still sticking to 33-30. All the Pats superbowls have been won or lost by 4 points or less so I'm thinking history might repeat itself.

Spring time bass fishing
My PB seemed to think so too

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Carbon Fiber Sheet and Shimano Cardiff Spool came in the mail. Made 3 drag washers for my Pro Qualifier as the stock ones were shot, all set now for frogging this year. Also bought some 65lb 832 and spooled up the cardiff spool to fish big topwaters.

Lead restriction/Tungsten jigs
Both the Bass Pro and the Cabelas in MA have absolutely pathetic non-lead jig selection. This thread did get me to go through all my jigs finally and see what I would need to do to finally make the 100% switchover. It's sad to see all the lead ones sitting so nice in a box now. But it did also get me to sit down and see what I truly needed. I've got a TW order on standby and will pull the trigger before the ice melts. I wish Siebert would sell tungsten swim jigs as well, but their football and arkie ones are definitely at the top of the list of consideration.

New Jig Rod
I'll second this. I have two tatula rods now and love them. They seem to go on sale for 110 or 100 rather frequently if you look around. very good deal for the quality of rod IMO.

Lead restriction/Tungsten jigs
I've transitioned most of my actual weights over to tungsten but I'm still working on jigs. There are some lead free options out there besides tungsten but again with jigs I want at least decent sensitivity, so it doesn't make sense for me to go backwards in that aspect. For shakey heads I've used those Eco pro ones Crankin4Bass said and he's right about the screw lock, an absolute pain but I like them otherwise. The real pain isn't even the cost necessarily, it's that some head design just aren't made in non-lead options period. I have one grass jig that I love and it comes through weeds better than any I've owned but I have yet to see a non-lead with the same head shape. I do give the state some props for providing a list of lead-free alternatives but even if you go through the entire thing you might still have holes remaining that just can't be filled at the moment. I'm just glad spinner baits are exempt though. Of course that opens a whole new can of worms because what is a spinnerbait if not a jig with a wire attached to it? And what does that make an underspin? If I add a small willow leaf to my jig is it now not a jig? The law is worded poorly IMO but again, check out this list as a start if you are serious about changing everything over: http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dfg/dfw/hunting-fishing-wildlife-watching/fishing/lead-free-tackle-sources.html
