  1. This is what I want to happen but don't think it will. I'd rather the Pats play the Chiefs and should they make the Superbowl I'd rather them not have to get into a shootout with Rodgers.
  2. Personally I never use anything lower than 15lb braid but if I had an ultralight or light rod setup I might put the 8 on that for some really finesse stuff like tiny drop shots or little inline spinners.
  3. Another vote for war eagle, although I might try the T1's at some point.
  4. I have like six 3700 size Bass Pro boxes, one for cranks, jigs, spinnerbaits/buzzbaits,terminal tackle, worms, craws/trailers and then one 3600 size for topwaters. I have a ziploc that I throw larger worms in (10" +) and another that I keep shelled plastics like kietechs. It all fits in a boat bag... Obviously I can't take it on my kayak or bank fishing but if I fish from a boat it works well and I can keep everything in there over the winter, and as an added bonus it's waterproof. And it was like 1/4 the price of one of those larger Plano tackle backpacks that hold the same amount of stuff.
  5. I used it to spool up some 40lb braid and while I can't verify how accurate it is, I had roughly half a 150yd (450 feet) spool left and it measured out about 240 feet of line. I did have to tighten it down pretty good in order for the mechanism to clamp onto the braid, but from what I can tell it did pretty well.
  6. Pats played a very sloppy game and probably would have lost to a team with an offense capable of fully capitalizing on the turnovers the Pats gave up. That being said I do think putting up 34 points against the number 1 ranked defense despite all the mistakes is nothing to shrug at. Brady I'm sure won't let a sloppy performance like that happen two weeks in a row. Predictions for tomorrow: Packers 33, Cowboys 28 Steelers 28, Chiefs 24
  7. I never go lower than 30lb braid for casting gear. I like 30 for moving baits and 40 for jigs and other things where I am giving a good hookset, helps avoid dig-ins a little better than the 30.
  8. I haven't tried many but another vote for the Cavitron.
  9. I haven't bought a 6th sense lure I haven't liked yet, very nice lures
  10. Got some 65lb 832 for topwater swimbaits at Bass Pro and a berkley line counter (should help cut spools evenly and eliminate wasted line) since I had a BPS gift card. Now I just need a spare Cardiff spool to put the braid on.
  11. You'd think for such a small state it would be a little more consistent. Out west guys are on a foot of ice in some spots and then you have south eastern MA where you could probably launch a boat on many lakes.
  12. I got a good laugh out of that. But if he think it helps him then by all means, wear them.
  13. Ice fishing but the weather is not cooperating right now so I've been stripping down all my baitcasters and cleaning them really good. And then next week my next semester starts up so anything fishing related will have to wait until the weekends.
  14. I had the best success on windy days this year, but I had success in pretty much all conditions I tried it in. I think the loud commotion it produces compared to other topwaters gives the fish more to key in on when the wind is producing a lot of chop. Now I fished mine on 40lb braid and a heavy fast rod and did pretty well. I actually fished mine with the rod tip kind of high and dropped it when I saw a blowup because a lot of time they would either miss the hooks or just hit it and not eat it, and I didn't want to rip it out of their mouths immediately. Almost like frog fishing, I dropped the rod tip and then started to reel and if I felt that the fish had it I hit em. I had a pretty good hookup ratio doing that. But looking back I do think I lost fish because of that setup. The stout rod combined with the braid there was almost zero play in the system and I had a some pretty nice fish (and what would have been my personal best smallie on two different occassions) throw the hook when they came up to shake. Ideally I would probably fish it on like a 7'6" MHMF with braid to absorb some of the headshakes. But I don't have a rod like that so I'll probably try fishing it on my MHF Tatula this year and see if it makes a difference.
  15. If you are willing to jump up slightly in price (nothing crazy, even just 10 to 20 bucks will expand your search) you'll start getting into the entry level paddles of some of the more well known companies like.... bending branches https://www.bendingbranches.com/products/angler-rise-kayak-fishing-paddle or aquabound https://www.aquabound.com/products/manta-ray-aluminum-2pc-kayak-paddle But I found a few in your current budget that would get you on the water... Bass pro: http://www.basspro.com/Ascend-Explore-Kayak-Paddle/product/14050707061817/ Dick's http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=90861076&fg=Price Range Unfortunately under 50 bucks, the paddle will not be that light. Aluminum shaft and fiberglass or nylon blades will be what you're looking at (unless you find a killer deal on a nicer paddle). But as long as you take care of it and don't abuse it I don't think you'll have issues with durability.
  16. His off-field dedication is pretty impressive, his diet is crazy. He must be doing something right because from the looks of it he ages backwards. http://cdn.barstoolsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/04/Screen-Shot-2015-08-04-at-5.04.19-PM.png?219c30
  17. With that budget you'll probably be looking at some sort of aluminum paddle. I think your best bet would be to go to your local sports store and just get a feel for a few. Dick's, Cabelas, BPS, Academy etc. should have some in your budget.
  18. What's your budget for the paddle? And most paddles are not locked in a feather position, they are adjustable. Even the most basic paddles usually have 1 feather angle adjustment. It's just another feature, you'd be harder pressed finding one without any feather adjustment than to just not use the feature. My old paddle had 1 feather adjustment and I never used it...until I started using it and realized how much of a benefit it can be in the wind. As for the length, most charts are probably gonna put you at 230cm or 240cm. If you think you will be growing a good amount more I'd probably opt for the 240.
  19. So my father asked me if I'd mind cleaning one of his reels for him. It's a Johny Morris Signature Series Baitcaster he's had for a while now, never been opened once and is in pretty dire need of it. However on this reel there is no handle nut, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to take the thing apart. I took out all visible screws and the right side plate will budge until it bumps into the star drag. For reels without a handle retainer, is there a common way to disassemble them or does each manufacturer sneak in their own way? Picture of the same model reel:
  20. I've never used any of those but they are popular lines of rods I'm sure at least a couple people can chime in that own them.
  21. Welcome to the Forums! Personally I'd go with a fast for soft plastics. But it's going to depend on the rod maker as well because there isn't a set standard for rod tapers. Which models peaked your curiosity, some people might have experience with the same rod.
  22. Can't go wrong with a Loon colored 130 plopper. Stick with it and you should get some nice ones.
  23. Berkley Powerbait 10" ribbontails
  24. 7'3" MHM casting 6 speed reel for cranks 7'2" HF casting 7 speed reel for frogs/jigs/heavy weighted plastics 7'2" MHF casting 6 speed reel for spinnerbaits/chatterbaits/worm fishing 8'0" XHF casting 6 speed reel for swimbaits 6'10" MF spinning 6 speed reel for drop shot/shakey head/jerkbaits
