Maintaining finger contact on line with a Tatula T-wing
When the spool is engaged the large opening of the T is up. You would have to be pushing the line up significantly for that to happen. I own almost all daiwa's and have never had an issue with what you are experiancing.

BPT Lake Eufaula
IMO the weights certainly would be different because of the sheer number of 1 pound fish on Eufaula. Even with the live coverage they arent showing all the unscorable fish being caught. some guys have even made mention of the amount of fish under 2 pounds saying it had been a fun day. That being said I am all for the 2 pound minimum and dont believe it should be changed.

BPT Lake Eufaula
This ^^ except make it 6 inches of rain with the addition of rain to the north causing Atlanta dams to let water go as well. Eufaula is my home lake and I dont think this tourney could of happened at a worse time. Very surprised at the ways the guys have overcome though.

Back pain woes
If anything comes out of this thread I hope anyone with healthy backs take heed. Once its damaged it seems it will always be a weak spot. I pray the best for those above. I've been doing some PT trying to learn the does and dont's and things are better. At least I feel better but like alot of other things I think we build up a tolerance to the pain. If I can keep from aggravating the nerve it's very manageable but tough to say when the next episode will have me down again. Good luck to all.

2019 Review - Which lures/presentations caught largemouth over 5lbs for you?
Was definately a slow year for fish over 5#. Caught several really close but only one that went 5.6lb caught on 3xd crank Oh but all of the fish that missed my frog were over 5# ?

Want to put line on my own BC reels now, but I've got questions
Depends. I normally use 15lb big game only because I trust this line in this diameter in the odd chance I was low on line and the fish pulled enough to get into my backing. (This really never happens)

Want to put line on my own BC reels now, but I've got questions
I think your making too much of it. I like to use an arbor knot but really you can use any knot that will tighten up. I always use big game mono as backing mainly because I have several thousand yard spools. Depending on what the reel will be used for I normally only spool about 75 yards of fluro. So I fill the reel with mono then pull off 75 yards of line. (I marked it off in my yard)this only needs to be done once with a new reel. Then tie an Albright knot and fill with the fluro or braid. Spool line from the top for baitcasters and the bottom for spinning.

megabass 110 vs 110+1 need both?
No matter what if you didnt already learn. Always buy more than one of the same bait so if you lose it your not screwed for the rest of the day.
-
What lures did you lose the most in 2019?
Crankbaits, just part of it.

Who works on reels?
Contact daiwa and let them fix it. Even if you decide to upgrade I would still want original parts to be right before hand

Any good "do it all" jigs you can recommend?
Another vote for seiberts. His brush jigs have lasted me so long I had to invest in a hook sharpener, they come through just about everything

MLF on Discovery Channel - Horrible Broadcast
I agree it definately isnt the same. Used to enjoy watching them pull up to a place without knowing where and see who can figure it out first. After the knockout round today they apparently told the guys they would be on pool 7 next because Edwin Evers made a comment on how it was his favorite. So I guess it's not even a secret anymore as to where they will fish next? Which to me was a huge part of the format.

Back pain woes
Suppose I should have elaborated a little but I'm learning more everyday about the spine. My pain is really in my left leg more than my back. After this last episode going on 7 days now I cant stand for very long and walking is worse. It's strange to have both pain as well as numbness/weakness at the same time. it is also very tight to the point that i cant make a full strand because of my calf being so tight and its painful to extend it. certain moves shoot a shockwave down my leg. MRI was done but I cant meet with doc to review until 31st. He had his nurse call and told me I had a large herniated disc so that's confirmed, then she asked did I want to schedule surgery or get an epidural. I almost wish they never called because I cant ask questions so all I can do is dwell on it. The pain is bad enough that I suppose I am going to get the epidural. What's most upsetting after doing research is that it seems there really is no fix for a herniated disc. Even with surgery it will always be a weak point never knowing when it will re-inflame and put me out of work. If anyone is reading this that has never had any back issues take some time to learn and do all you can to prevent it! Because from what I've read once it happens you can never go back. Thanks for all the shared experiances. I will update once something happens.

How many carry while out fishing in the boat.
I believe that is probably true. I cant say its reason enough for people not to cary a weapon for personal protection though. I do think anyone who carries should put ample time in training and safety which is rarely the case. Myself included. I'm familiar with a gun but I have no idea how I will react in a life or death situation.

Gun safe for the truck
Oh I agree. Definately dont want mine stolen either. I've had several stupid things stolen that were much less valuable. Someone actually stole my trailer ball while at Walmart one time. Funny thing is it was attached to a removable reese hitch. Instead of pulling a pin and leaving they fought to unscrew the d**n thing lol. Anyway you may already do this but always keep a list of all firearm serial numbers somewhere so in the event its stolen you can report it. Would hate for a murder to somehow get linked back to you from a stolen gun.

How many carry while out fishing in the boat.
I've met plenty of people like this as well. Cant explain it either other then they have a warped view of reality and their ability. Without training in a high stress situation the majority of gun owners would likely not even draw fast enough to protect themselves. Let alone aim and shoot. for example the FBI says 21ft is the minimum distance to react to a threat with a knife or other weapon. And this is with extensive training. The knife guy still wins. I own a few pistols and I enjoy shooting them. I carry in my truck and the boat if I remember. Mainly started doing this after my son was born. Not sure exactly why other then I feel like i have more ways to protect him and my wife. Hope i never have too

Gun safe for the truck
Unless it will be bolted to the floor there is no reason for a thief not to take the whole safe. My advice would just be to hide it, as well as not leaving anything else valuable in sight to make it less desirable for someone looking to steal.

Cold water speed cranking
Wish I could make one video and backorder a product the same day. I do believe it would work. For me a crankbait is always about a reaction bite no matter the speed or water temp. And I feel I've been giving a similar presentation with lipless baits. I cant say what makes their $15 crank better than other tight wobblers until I held one and fished it. Pictures always deceive me. I feel like berkeley's line of deep cranks would also work. Cant remember the name but they are much smaller profile than most DD due to adding a small weight in the lip. They also have a nice tight wobble

Unusual preference in a spinnerbait rod?
I have changed my preference of rods on alot of techniques. I used to lean toward stiffer sticks but now seem to be using alot of light action rods even for baits that I might shouldn't. A jig for example should have a pretty fast action for the hookset but with a softer rod my bait placement immediately goes up and I feel like I can make the bait do exactly what I want it to effortlessly. I suppose it's a trade off with some techniques. I also believe I have found a 6'10" rod to be the perfect length for my height when sidearm or skip casting. It's just works. Might of went a little off topic but yes I do prefer softer action rods for a spinnerbait as well as a bladed jig

Back pain woes
Swinging a baseball bat was the initial injury. Was on crutches for a month. Went several months trying to do everything correctly and stretching often. Was installing new floor in my house and after 2 days on my hands and knees I woke up with it severely aggravated to the point I am in pain unless lying down.

Back pain woes
Looking for advice or experiances from those who have suffered with lower back issues. Based on an Xray I was told I have a herniated/bulging disc. Cant confirm which one without MRI. After talking with the doc the options are physical therapy which will only train me how to live with the issue. Epidural shot which should ease pain but is temporary, or surgery discectomy. I'm 28 with alot of working years ahead of me. Be grateful to hear some of yall experiance's and what you've went through good and bad.

Favorite shakey head?
Strike king football head is what I use. Dont care for the screw locks. Wish I could make my own. In my opinion no ones makes a perfect shaky jig head

Rethinking Topwater Colors
I've definately seen it make a difference. Fishing team tourneys I've been whooped throwing different color until I make a change. And I dont mean changing to the exact same topwater bait just the same color made the difference.
