  1. dobyns rods i was a big st croix fan for along time but honestly there rods have gone down hill IMO. also there lower end rods dont have warranties like they used to. this year i decided to switch companies andam very impressed with the dobyns line up
  2. went through two this spring the reel seats are garbage reel would wobble and come looseso i took the first one back and exchanged it got home with a different one about a week went by and it did the same thing so i took it back. about a month went by and i was back where i bought them lookin for some frogs and as i was walkin in another gentleman was also bringing 2 back for the same issue. if u were to try and build those rods yourself the win grips (over rated in my opinion) would run u over $25 and the microwave guides would be another $35 then u have to buy a reel seat and blank. guess what im gettin at here is basically those rods are nothing more then a tricked out walmart rod, not that there is anything wrong with that. but at the $99 price point there are way better rods outthere with lifetime warranties for just $10 more cough cough dobyns fury
  3. ima fan of the live targets ill hvave to get one of these and give em a go
  4. try a jackall iprop in bluegill or ghost minnow i just purchased one today and was very impressed with the results
  5. pulled the trigger today on the fury 702 paired it with a lews tournament metal t200. very impressed with this set up. ive always been a big fan of lews reels
  6. im looking at purchasing a new rod for spybaiting. im farely new to this technique i havnt fished it only read and read about it. ive settled on 5 or 6lb flourocarbon and spybaits in the 80mm class which i believe are 9.5 grams (3/8 oz). as far as reels go i like lews so im planning on a lews in 5-3-1 in either a 1000 or 2000 size. ok so now that you have all the info i can think of for my question ild like to purchase a dobyns fury series rod in either a 702 (ML fast action) or 703 (medium fast action) which one would you choose im torn alot of people are saying medium but like wise alot say ML action. im really leaning towards a ML do to the line weight i think it would handle it a little better. also if you think you may have a better option for tat 120-150 price range let me know thank you in advance for your input. also the line and lure rating for each rod is 703 8-17lb, 3/16-5/8oz 702 6-12lb, 1/8-1/2oz
