just another little tid bit of advice i leave my line thats conected to the float on my tools about 3 feet long so you arent fighting the float being in your way when you are trying to unhook those toothy critters

for floats i always just cut a section of swimmig noodle and put a wine cork in the hole to attach a string to. noodles are cheap and you can make adjustments to how big they are to how much the thing weighs

probably be cheaper and easier just ot get a different reel i use a quantum accurist since i rarely pitch or flip and with the flip switch on it it seems to work jsut fine for me i think they retail at around 100

carp and cat fisherman have been doing this for years. you are basically chumming the water

dobyns fury 702. itll make a great eye rod along with everything else you mentioned and it comes in at $109

its dont matter what time of year my favorite lure is always a frog even in winter time with 2 feet of ice still the frog dont work worth a crap dont think the fish can see it through the ice

oh so the anchor and contour follow features only work if you get an electric steer motor... i did not know that learn something new every day...so why arent the cable driven xi5's and terrovas alot cheaper since it seems you loose alot of features

heres a question for one of you knowledgable fellows on the terrova or the new motorguide xi5 when you use there anchor ability thing where it holds you on a specific spot does it matter what brand sonar you use? heres why i ask, kvd is a spokesman for motorguide (which i believe is lowrance units) and hummingbird (which is minnkota TM) so if he is using his anchor feature does that mean he runs a lowrance chartplotter as well as a hummingbird or do they work with all of the above?

it might not be the exact same as what is out now because things change as years go by but all in all its there 100 baitcaster if anyhting they should have gotten better

uhh ya they have i have a ss1h lfs and i bought it when st croix debuted the mojos what ever year that was

ive had mine going on like forever never had any issues with it. just do the usual maintenance grease here oil there the thing has been bullet proof. honestly i swear ive had it going on at least 7 years if not 10 years. i also fish quite a bit, at least twice a week but usually more from ice out to freeze up. it was my first bait caster i ever purchased so its definitely took more abuse then other reels i own

got out tonight for a couple hours until the ten minute storm blew in stupid lightning got soaked loading the boat. about a mile from the launch everything cleared and hasnt rained since. stupid lightning if it wasnt for the lightning i would have stayed and roughed out the rain fish were biting pretty good too

lews LFS can be had for $99 or a lews tournament mb for around 130 but can bve found on line brand new for 104

you may spend a little more at the bait shop to buy your rod but that is what keeps them open. small bait shops arent like major chains every penny counts in there world. always support your local shops if you can. once there gone so is all the knowledge that comes with them

also now that i think about it the major factor that would make me really choose one or the other is what locator you are running if it be himmingbird and you htink you may ever go big get a minnkota if its lowrance and you ever may go big get motorguide or if you are like me and run garmin just pick one and hope that is the brand they eventually buy probably gonna be motor guide

if you really want to get into bass fishing ild do yourself a favor ad dont buy something telescopic...and ild shy away from amazon as well go to a local baitshop and find somehting start a repor with the guys there that way if nothing else you will walk out of there with a little more knowledge of the local fishing holes. go there feel every pole find one you like and feels good in your hands speak with them about local hot tactics and you will be way better off ps im not saying go in there looking for a high dollar combo by anymeans either and by local tackle shop i really mean a tackle shop where hopefully they are knowledgable not walmart or something of that nature

ive been lucky enough to have used both and out of the two neither were better then the other eachone had its qualities and each one had something i wish the other had

just use strait braid that lure is big and loud no need for a leader. besides if you use 30 pound braid why size down to 15 for a leader just run 15 braid you will be fine

ya try bass fishing with a 9 foot crappie rod everything feels like its a ten pounder lol man i love those long noodle rods

its funny how people bash carrot stix because i know of one other company that had the same issue last year with rod after rod after rod breaking and everyone keeps giving them praise. you know that rod company that is not to be mentioned probably why we cant say there name cause they are junk

lol its amazing how once you get scales you realize how bad you were at estimating weights of fish lol

you could i personally dont use tailers on buzz baits but i do on spinner baits and run swimbait trailers.
