  1. crutch how do you get on north twin??
  2. no actually that paddle bike was manufactured in the early 70s in south bend by don f snyder corp cant find nothing else out about the darn thing though lol ahhhh the stupid green carp lol or atleast thats what i call em when im out fishin for skis lol noone hold that against me here usually when i get a bass on top water they just suck those big ol ski baits down gets that heart pumpin for about 3 seconds then u realize its a bass most the time really good ones too usually in that 3-5lbs but man on that ski gear they dont stand a chance.
  3. heres a nice preggo belly from about 3 weeks ago not to bad she went about 4 lbs thats awesome frosty nothing better then takin the kids out. here is one of the boy on "his" new boat after he got done riding it for about 2 hours he took out his fishing pole on it and caught a few. at the end of the day his exact words were im living the dream man that was so much fun.
  4. whats happening on the hoosier home front fellas? anyone doin any good? itld be great to see some hoosier fish porn. i havnt made it out in the past few weeks but am hoping to make it out in the morning for a few hours before the rain.
  5. those are the lakes i was talkin about if u are in middleberry steuben is only about an hour tops depending on buggy traffic all the lakes in steuben are by angola or close to that is (10-15 min drive time) and big turkey is the closest of all of em. bass have kinda went down in numbers over there but u have good odds of catching a few bonus walleye which make for a great dinner after a long day on the water
  6. some of the best bass fishing in the state is up here in this area or within a short drive try crusing down to webster or wawasee.. or over to lagrange area to hit the twin lakes or come more my way there are 101 lakes over here in steuben you got big turkey james crooked clear hamilton sylvan just to name a few of the bigger waters. the problem you are having or atleast my guess on it is you are too close to all the amish man those guys keep everything. nothing against that but man they will clean out a lake real fast during bedding season especially the smaller lakes and with 20 kids they can really get some numbers too.
  7. ive been using the fury 704cb for jerk baits and really like it...not saying there arent better optiong out there but at the price it was hard to beat
  8. dis assemble and clean. then re lube as you put it back together
  9. hi guys so ive always considered myself a power fisherman (jigs flipping spinner baits buzz baits) where im running bait casters and heavy line. picking up a bass out of the water with my rod was never an issue until this year. ive decided to pick up a few finesse tactics to add to my arsenal which require light line so no more flipping bigguns in the boat. here lies my problem i have a net but it never fails the hooks get ll entangled in it that it sometimes takes five min and a knife to cut the net to get them out. im loosing a lot of time here one keeping the fish out of water to get unhooked and 2 from fishing. the net i have is and "old school" net like most of us have or at least started with. then i went to a small holed net for like crappie still same issue. are the rubber nets really worth the extra coin or is there a better option out there. do the rubber nets hold up well to the heat of getting stored in the rod locker year after year. what kind of net do you use. whats your likes and dis likes. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance
  10. ild get a lews spinning reel they are bulletproof
  11. i use gander mountain 8another sitelouro 400yds for cheap one spool last me about 2-3 years but i dont use that rod every time i go out either i also dont fill the spool knowing eventually im gonna pull it all off and restring it. i think a 400yd spool is like $14-$16 so its like buying one and getting one free makes it more cost effective. and its not bad line either or atleast i havnt had any issues yet
  12. thanks iabass the info is appreciated ill get back at you wen its a little closer to when i decide on the rods i want for your input
  13. im with masterbaiter on this one except i prefer my remington 870 only good snakes i ever seen were the one on the wrong end of that 870
  14. if i could only pick one thing to fish for bass it would be a slip bobber and bass shiner but it has to be on my 9ft ML panfish rod. sorry guys i went there (live bait) but i had to because if im only fishing one bait for bass for the rest of my life its gonna be something that makes it really fun and that long rod makes even 10 inchers seem huge
  15. charlie brewer bass sliders would be a good one. itld be like and over sized crappie slider on a over sized road runner head. i couldnt tell you haw many smaller bass ive caught on crappie sliders
  16. the angler yes tri state bait hell no those ladies are rude and full of crap. they dont even fish. why would you work at a bait store and not fish, why would you own a bait store and hire someone who doesnt fish for that matter.
  17. what do you mean by furys are work horses. i was thinking about the champs or extremes for my finesse rods. i really dont see the need to upgrade my frog rod or flippin rod which are furys but what i am interested in is my spinnerbait/chatter bait rod, and my jig rod, and maybe even my jerk bait rod while keeping my furys as back ups
  18. so i purchased a few dobyns fury series rods this year to replace a few older and or broken rods of mine and really like them. now im contemplating switching all of my rods over to dobyns and upgrading from the furys up to a different series. my question is from the fury to savvy to champion then champion extreme is there a difference in the blanks and is it really worth the extra coin or are you paying to have more options there. i dont have a problem spending the extra coin for something that will last for a long time i just want to make sure that its money well spent. im leaning towards the champion series so for those of you who have used the savvy and champion did you really notice a major difference or is it not that noticeable.
  19. ok so if i was going to do this i would def invest in owner soft beads. i have them on my muskie rods to protect the tip top from the steel leader swivel here is a link to what i am talking about https://www.muskyshop.com/modules/cart/products.php/keys/own+bead/page/1/id/2159/name/OwnerSoftGlowBeads
  20. i happy with the GM fluro i purchased this spring its 8lb i use on a lews mach 1 spinning reel throwing stick baits for bas and baby jerkbaits for perch and walleye. its probably not the greatest line i ever purchased but at the price they have it for 400 yrds its deffinately the best bang for your buck... wait hold that thought its probably num 2 cause wen i was younger i couldnt go wrong with stren XTused that for everything under the sun lol. but ya GM fluro is a decent line for a great price
  21. i think dicks carries that real you may check there
  22. does boca make bearings for the lews tournament mb?? i looked on there site and didnt see anything or do ones for a different reel work in the MB? on top of that are the boca bearings really worth it and which ones would you recommend??
  23. lews all the way speed spools are pretty darn bullet proof
  24. i had the same issue with the ribbits and all frogs until i started using a small powerswivel about 3 feet in front of them to keep the line twist down you dont realize its there but every roll over weeds and fish smacks flip the bait. adding the swivel seemed to help keep it upright the weight of the hook should keep the belly side down. i just use the stanley hooks that come with the bait never seen a need to try a different hook
  25. when i say st croix has gone down hill comes from my experience building rods. when u buy a blank and compare it to the ones they manufacture and they give u guide spacing that is completely different then the ones they manufacture u start to really notice differences in there blanks. pair that with the fact they no longer stand behind them like they did in years past. now on the flipside to taht when you can get a mojo scii for 80 thats a decent rod but for a little more money you could get a dobyns or denalli or 13 which are quality rods with lifetime warranties for as little as wat 20 more in the price tag to me its a no brainer but to each is there own. at one point in time i had quite a few mojos that i am replacing now slowly with dobyns. also i have broke quite a few mojos over the past few years almost like they break down over time. most of them where purchased the year they first came out
