  1. There is a great thread with a bunch of pics over in the electronics section of the forum.... http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/127481-screenshots/ Mr. Wayne P ^^^ has a bunch of great posts and truly is a master of his trade. I've been checking that thread every day for updates! Learning a bunch, and can't wait to get my hands on an 899ci!
  2. It sounds like the fish were just swiping at your bait... I'm usually downsizing in this case or changing color to really trigger a strike. Was the fish you caught on the baby brush hog mouth hooked or fouled? If it was mouth hooked, sounds like you have backed up my point. =]
  3. Thanks Jon, we are super excited to get back out there. Trevor is gonna hook us up with his old boat which is awesome. Now it's all about buying new gear. The BAIT MONKEY has awoken.
  4. Nice job Jon, sounds like you had a nice day out there. Let me know if you need a back seater for Burke Sunday. My fishing bug is back....Ace and I will be back at the tourneys next season too.
  5. Will it move one direction and not the other? I had the same problem with my 92' Johnson and it was the solenoid that was bad. It would go in and out and work sometimes, and not others. Finally it went bad and had to change it out and it has not given me any problems since. It's worth checking out....
  6. Nothing beats a good jig bite...It's definitely my go-to, and favorite bait to use year round. Nice catch!
  7. Spent the day out there with my brother and friend Trevor. Launched out of bull run and did some exploring up that way. Water temps were 49-51 with crystal clear water. Spent the time throwing everything at them...jigs, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, cranks...nothing! We came back down past bull run marina to a deeper, rocky bluff and I caught a 4 lbr in about 10 feet of water off of some brush on a jig. I think the dirty water helped us out a bit as well. We headed up into the river to another similar bluff with laydowns and I caught 2 smaller fish (one keeper one dink). My brother Ace caught a nice 4 lbr the same way I caught mine, on a jig, deeper water on a bluff. Trevor snagged a keeper as well right after Ace. Turned out to be a nice afternoon out there! Everything was caught on black/blue jigs.
  8. I have a 14' starcraft semi v and it's EXTREMELY stable at rest, and when moving.
  9. Last year I had a really nice toyota tundra that my stepdad bought for my use(we have 4-5 cars at a time) so it was all I was allowed to drive. It wasn't "MINE" as in once I leave I can take it, but it was mine in the sense I was the only one that drove it and we refered to it as mine. I came across a nice boat last year and almost bought it but I didn't because I told my Mom I was going to get it and she said yeah yeah it's okay and a week later she sold the truck. So I didn't buy the boat and now I drive a scion tC, not complaining because I would drive any car she just does alot of things like that. She puts alot of speed bumps in my road to just go fishing...weak.
  10. Yeah I love my carrot stix. My girlfriend got me a gold, and it's amazing. She didn't let me take it to the lake though, such a tease.
  11. Thanks man. It really is. Another funny story about it was I almost bought it out under him. I saw it on craigslist about a month ago and I asked the guy selling it if he would take payments of $250 a month til I could pay it off and at the same time my Dad was about to buy it ;D The guy was like, "Do you have a son named Matt? He's trying to buy the boat too " It makes me feel alot better that he didn't spend some crazy amount on a boat and found this one for just under 2800.
  12. He is ADDICTED to www.slickdeals.net and found it on there. Some online store had them and they were closing out so they were selling them for 40 bucks. They only had size medium, in the green color. Believe me, he gets some AMAZING deals. Just the other day he got $400 dollar binoculars for $30 plus $10 dollar shipping.
  13. Here's another pic, looks alot cleaner here.
  14. Haha I don't know what you're talking about man. Can't wait to take you out on it. We'll hit the potomac if we go back down to pick it up.
  15. Still in the car, just needed to resize the pictures. Still need to put the depth finder on the front.
  16. I have sospenders and my Dad just bought me a Jacket called float tech that is waterproof, windproof, and has an integrated autoinflated vest just like sospenders. You can zip off the sleeves, you can take the vest out, or can wear it as a whole jacket. It's 100% rainproof, I tested it today in a tournament with 4 hours of straight pouring rain ;D They're pretty expensive but he found a closeout on them and got one for $40!!! http://www.go2marine.com/product.do?no=191979F&WT.mc_id=gb1
  17. Yeah they're the greatest. Mom's on the other hand.... :-X Just kiddin.
  18. Started off the weekend faking sick on Saturday so I could skip work and hit the lake with my Dad and brothers and sister. Haven't seen my Dad in a while and this is when we see him for xmas so I saw it fit to be "sick". Well as a huge surprise, he got my brother and I a SWEET '92 nitro. We got to the lake and it was just parked in our lot. We really couldn't believe it. He's definetly the greatest, quite a few guys on here knows he trailers us to all of our tournaments and anytime we fish because of the situation we're in. I was so psyched when I saw it. The boat is in amazing condition, always garaged and the carpet and gelcoat are basically perfect. To top the weekend off we had a tournament today and I love fishing tournaments. We did alright for how terrible of a day it was. This morning a huge cold front came in and it was pouring rain and 38 degrees. My hands have never been so cold in my life!!!!! We ended up the day with only 2 fish for 4.78 lbs, but 3rd place. No money, there were only 10 boats. Fun time though, and amazing boat. GPS'd it at 41.9 mph...It flies!!! My favorite colors too, black and blue. I'll get some pictures up when I get home.
  19. I saw them on sale for $6.99 at *** a month or so ago. Maybe it was bass pro...Well either way, it was an awesome deal. My brother has one, never caught one on it.
  20. Me too haahah place is addicting!! Too many colors/baits!
  21. I also like that you skipped the last class of the day...Steve you thinkin what I'm thinkin?
  22. That's too bad, it was REALLY cold Saturday. I'm heading down to Gaston this weekend for a tournament if I don't end up going to NY with my girlfriend, but I'll let you know how I do.
  23. How'd it go yesterday at Burke?
  24. Black/blue or solid black. I like using a bigger jig when it's stained, and a big trailer.
  25. I don't know why people have such horrible stories about these net jobs! Half the time if you just put the net in the water at the nose of the fish it'll swim right in.
