  1. Okay Jon, sounds good to me. I believe you're banning was probably a mistake by the forums. Try to contact one of the moderators and they'll help you out.
  2. I've been fishing there the past 8 months or so and haven't been kicked out but 2 times on the private side. One time by the homeowners association leader. He talked to my buddy who was fishing across the cove but he told him that we could go fish on the otherside and no one would bother us. We still fish on the homes side if it's cold or no one is out walking their dogs on a beautiful 70 degree day ;D. Fun place, 5 minute drive from my house too.
  3. Alright sounds great! Just let me know. Sent you a PM about the map.
  4. Wow that sounds like an amazing combo Rob. Hope to see you out there on Sunday if I make it. Hey Jon, when do you think the Fountainhead tournament schedule will be out?
  5. Wow that thing is FULL!
  6. Sounds like you had a good day! That'd be sweet if you could show me these brush piles. You have someone fishing in the backseat of your boat next weekend? If not let me know. I can probably get out there in my boat otherwise. I really need to get working on getting to tow my boat!!! Unfortunately I can only fish on Sunday because I work from 1:00-6:00 on Saturday and I can't take off because business should really be picking up soon at the UPS store ;D.
  7. Even his spinning rods...7' heavy with 65lb braid. It's a redfish rod!
  8. I use circle hooks when I'm dropshotting. Other than that, I don't use them. Straight shank 2/0 hooks for wacky rigging.
  9. That's too bad it came broken. That is going to be a sick combo, steez/zillion. Can't wait to hear a review. Pigsticker and I are heading out to fairview to see if anything will bite. We'll report back. Hope my dropshot doesn't freeze down there. :
  10. Yeah the Zillions look like amazing rods. I asked for one for Christmas so we'll see if it comes through. How do you like it Andrew? I asked for the 7' xh for flipping/carolina rig.
  11. Hey Jon, you been catchin em' out there at burke lately? We are thinking about getting out there but we don't know where these brushpiles are!
  12. Hey, I haven't been down to Gaston in a month and a half, but usually I'm down there every other weekend. This time last year we were catching them everywhere, main lake points, steep walls, docks, creeks, you name it. Definitely try to get into peahill creek, it's huge and is basically it's own lake. Only difference was that last year they sprayed for all of the hydrilla and this year they didn't so I don't know how it will effect the fish but I will find out soon enough. Crankbaits, jigs, jerkbaits and spinnerbaits worked slow around points should be working well right now though. Try black/blue jigs, junebug colored plastics, shad colored cranks and if you have one a chartreuse shad jerkbait (they love it). Last year I was killing them on 1/2 oz evolution jigs working them up points and steep bluffs when they were deep, and then when they were shallow on that jerkbait. When they are deep try getting your boat up shallow and pull the bait up the bluff or point and make sure you slam any cover down there. There are some really nice fish at Gaston, hope you catch em' up and have a great time. Good lucky, hope this helps Again, haven't been down in a while, this is all information from LAST YEAR so it may work, but then again it may not. Matt
  13. I've fished fairvew with pigsticker recently but it was after school for like an hour. Nothing, no bites, no fish. Other than that, I haven't been fishing too much. That's gonna change though.
  14. Sounds like an awesome day! Terminator Jig's are my favorite flipping jigs by far. The bait holder is great, and they're really snagless. Great hooks and I really like the recessed line tie. The price isn't too bad, wish I could get them for a dollar though!
  15. I don't wait for that fish to chew on the jig and spit it out, once he bites, I nail him.
  16. My guess for swimbaiters (I am far from one) is that if that fish is gonna hit your swimbait, you'll know it. It's not like how they'll barely tap a shakey head and that GLX or Carrot Stix sensitivity will help you feel the bite.
  17. Man that sounds like an awesome setup!! How does your zillion compare to your carrot stix? I love my carrot stix, but want to get a zillion for xmas.
  18. Evolution jigs really are one of the best.
  19. Last winter I was very partial to the Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver and Smallie beaver, but since May I have been throwing the GYCB flappin' hog. I will throw it through winter too. The bait produces.
  20. All the time sweet deals... www.slickdeals.net
  21. Yeah, evolution jigs are MONEY!!!
  22. I'd say low 40's for me. My favorite thing to do is throw a 1/2 oz evolution jigs UP points. I pull my boat up into the shallows of the point and throw off of it and bump the jig up. Give it a try.
