I caught a 1.5 lber with baby bird feet sticking out of its throat. Nothing too bizarre I guess.

I managed to miss the keitech part though I haven't tried them yet, I may have to. The clearance section is terrible at my local store. Alot of stuff you can get cheaper online direct from the manufaturers, oddball stuff, ice fishing stuff, etc.

DSG didn't seem to have any good deals. All of the worthwhile sales appear to be online?

I feel like having a live fish tied on a stringer at the waters edge might be bad luck, like the fish is communicating with the others telling them to stop eating. It's a trap!

Where did the banana thing come from? Does avoiding going fishing with certain people count as a superstition if you always get skunked when they are around?

I have a related question because I keep my rods in the car 90% of the time. Is it true that it's not a good idea to keep rods and reels in your car due to excessive heat exposure? I don't believe that it's caused me any problems yet but I read it on the internet so it must be true.

We haven't gone back to ice just yet but we had a few 70 degree days followed by high 30 degree days. They were on the beds and quickly back off of them. It's made for some frustrating trips on the water. I've gotten most of my bass on lipless/ squarebills in this odd weather.

I went for about 4 hours this morning. Alot of empty beds or beds guarded by dinks. I caught one dink on a zoom lizard but it was too far from shore to see if he was on a bed. Other than that, all I could muster was a few senko bites but no real takers. There were a couple of disinterested 3ish females roaming near beds but they may as well have been blind/deaf.

Nice.Thanks everybody. I'm going out in a couple of hours and hope to possibly get a new PB. I somehow missed the spawn altogether last year but not this time.

When I went out yesterday (Western MA, mind you) they were biting on wacky rigged senkos more than anything else. I saw a few beds but only one was occupied. Have you guys seen any obvious signs of the spawn out east yet?

Either my best James Hetfield impression with "Yeaahh", or "Ha, not weeds." One is loud and the other is very quiet. You decide.

Over the shoulder tackle bag with 1-3 3601 boxes, bug spray, cheap polarized sunglasses to see cover that I wouldn't otherwise, one spinning rod,Soft Plastics binder, pliers, grip scale, license in a ziplock bag, small box of hooks, and a bottle of water I also have anywhere from 3-5 3600 or 3601 boxes in the trunk of my car along with another spinning rod and multiple soft plastics. I swap out boxes and the rod based on where I'm fishing that day.
