  1. I have a 90 in yellow head. I've caught about 20 fish on it with about 6 hours of use. The lure gets a lot of followers and some take the thing at the last possible second. The biggest I've gotten being only 1.25 lbs but that's more reflective of where I was fishing I believe. I have a 130 in munky butt color and have only fished it for 30 minutes with zero bites. I was fishing the 90 on 12 lb mono and a spinning setup. Now I'm using 30 lb power pro braid on a Medium casting setup for both.
  2. If I remember correctly, I was told by a longtime injection molding processor that soft plastics will melt around 150 deg. So even before hitting 150 they will become weaker in molecular structure and "softer." Heat is bad for soft plastics. At the other end you have hardbaits that are made from materials ranging from ABS to Lexan with melt temps between 350-600 deg roughly.
  3. What kind of gear did you use to throw it? What time of day did you try it?
  4. Yes. Especially pike.
  5. Get them shipped to your work. She will never know.
  6. Grabbed a Fenwick HMX MH casting rod in the end of summer sale. Shout out to the latest sales/deal thread. Just gotta pick a budget reel to go with it.
  7. I'm not familiar with that pond but the second page of that PDF is probably from late 1980's to mid1990's like most Mass lakes and ponds. The species list may not be up to date and the pond might look a little different in my experience with the MA division of wildlife and fisheries maps. Just a heads up. I doubt too much has changed but I wouldn't put all your eggs in that map/basket.
  8. Just curious as to the lake that you are on? I have some bigger frogs coming in the mail, then I just have to get some smaller ones for the body. I've been wanting to try this.
  9. Do you fish any of those and if so what percentage of them?
  10. I love bank fishing but some of you guys are listing camping gear. I might bring a bag of cheez its or stop to get taco bell breakfast if I want to have to rush back out of the woods 35 minutes after I get there. I just couldn't bring so much stuff but my guess is that you guys are staying at these spots for quite awhile?
  11. One spinning rod and one baitcaster, a tackle bag with 2-3 3600 boxes (one square bills and lipless cranks and one topwater almost always), and bags of soft plastics on top of the boxes, bottle of water, pliers, small box with hooks and sinkers. In my trunk is a milk crate with my extra 3600 boxes and soft plastics and some random trout stuff. I just switch out the boxes that are in the bag based on weather and where I'm fishing. I always bring my phone so I can spam my friends with pics of every dink I catch. I highly recommend getting the 3601 boxes with the low profile if you can find them. You can fit twice as many boxes in your tackle bag that way. Lots of wasted space in a 3600 size box.
  12. Glenn, you are so helpful and informative. You should start an informational bass fishing website.
  13. WHOA! I can't believe you just came out and said that... in the form of an incomplete sentence.
  14. Everywhere is within walking distance, if you have the time.
  15. Care to share which sites have them marked down if they aren't forbidden links?
  16. I just grabbed a package of Keitech crazy flappers in 3.8" They are a pretty good crayfish imitation. Stopped and tried them out quick and had a bunch of perch, bluegills, and an army of dinks follow it in every cast. I had what looked like a 2 pounder roll on it but I didn't set the hook. It was too hot and muggy for me to take the time and stick around.
  17. How many small silica packets would you need for a 3600 box? Regular size and/or 3601 low profile. I'm guessing just one?
  18. How about weedy but no pads?
  19. Yes. Dead sticking senkos is pretty foolproof if you watch the line. If it starts to rise once you've sunk or it runs off left or right. Set that thing Sonny.
  20. Senko. Best thing other than the real thing. Speaking of which... You've been asking a lot of questions but haven't been giving much input. It'd be nice to see your ideas too. Not being a jerk just saying.
  21. When my kids are around I call them fish sticks. When they are not with me... Well, you know.
  22. I haven't crimped down any barbs yet but lately and especially since reading this thread, I've noticed that with some of my bass (esp. with the hook in the side of the mouth) a long and wide hole has developed and I feel lucky to have not had the bass shake loose. Am I setting the hook too hard or is the side of the mouth gonna always rip that far and wide?
