  1. My last few times out I only had one or two bites with the plopper but that doesn't mean I won't still throw it. I've got to give my 130 another chance as I gave up on that one quickly.
  2. Just dropped $30 on the Berkley Endo summer sale. Pitboss, papa pit boss, beat shad, and grass pig jr packs. 16 packs of plastics for less than $2 each. Free shipping, which I didn't see mentioned until checkout(AWESOME). Heck yes please. Thanks for keeping this thread going everyone. Hoping for a sticky soon as this thread is probably creating a lot of extra purchases within the industry.
  3. So you is be a wizard then.
  4. I have to ask: Why should you have two different size hooks?
  5. I love being able to see how the bass are all different shades of green, white, and black depending on where they came from. Obvious lateral lines to faint ones. Another reason to keep at it. Gotta Catch Em All.
  6. Look at it as dedication instead of calling it no life.
  7. Did you have that list queued up somewhere or did you type it out on the spot?
  8. Proof that it works. Like any lure type, it's not always going to work but when it does you have to love it. Very nice Cav.
  9. Scored 3 black jitterbugs in one day at a small pond earlier this summer. Found a brand new scatter-rap on the bank. Found about 30 senkos and assorted worms with hook still attached after the pond lost alot of water. I also donated my share of squarebills this spring to alot of low hanging trees. We are even. I haven't fished any of the mentioned baits at all. I've also found 3-4 rebel pop-rs through the years and have replaced the trebles and fish them sometimes.
  10. August 30, 2016 8:30 a.m. Pontoosuc Lake, Pittsfield, MA. Just this past Tuesday. I was trying out a new 3/8 oz zman chatterbait in white from a wall that is primarily used to jump off of into about 4-5 feet of water. About 15-20 feet out after letting it sink to the bottom, my new PB grabbed ahold of it and I set the hook. 5 pounds on the nose. I was using 8 lb. Trilene on an ugly stik gx2 youth spinning rod. That thing is fun to fight bass with. Nice and light with a sensitive feel to it. I don't care if it's for kids, it works amazingly for me. My previous PB was 3 lbs and 10 oz so this was a good jump in size for the areas that I fish.
  11. It'd be good to hear some feedback on this one.
  12. Cigarettes are $10 in MA. I don't smoke but I still feel this is outrageous.
  13. Roll top or low profile bread box? 20's or 100's?
  14. About how big is the Accu cull scale? I want to get one but want to make sure it'll fit in my tackle bag.
  15. MA only. Gave it a quick try in VT, NY, and CT before though. I will try to work at it in the future. I never left MA much until I was an adult so I have that working against me over the long term.
  16. I'm not gonna look it up so as to hear it from the horse's mouth, but is that a real word and what does it mean? 2.6 lbs. Really long with dark red gums. I think it lost some weight recently because the head was a lot bigger than the body. June bug looking yum wooly bug.
  17. Patience grasshoppa. Keep at it. Try weedlines, open water and parallel to shore early morning if you're bank fishing. Those are my 3 favorite techniques for it. I've dragged mine across rocks pretty routinely this last week as my favorite pond has dropped dramatically and exposed a ton of hard stuff and only a little paint under the nose has come off. Very solid bait.
  18. Well now that I've gotten much more comfortable with baitcasters and put together two more combos recently, I've picked out his baitcast combo. I'm just going to give him the silver max that I already have. I figure if I can learn on it than so can he. I'll just keep the brakes tight and maybe he'll learn a little more patience in the process as he waits for the brakes to be loosened.
  19. Just have to keep plugging away at it. Fan casting is your friend when on the bank. Throw a squarebill if it's not too weedy, go early or late and throw small topwaters using advice found here at bassresource. It'll all come together with patience. I'm having my best year of bass fishing yet with the biggest change from prior years being my patience going way up. Try fishing small and slow if you're really skunking it up.
  20. In the finesse froggin thread by master baitr he does a quick walkthrough on how he does it.
  21. I started a new savings account for the pentawhopper. Just can't wait for 2018!
