  1. So my buddy, his son and I jumped on the boat this afternoon. I fish on my buddys boat all the time. His son doesn’t come with us very often. So we wanted him to catch some fish today. Immediately found pogies but we ran off shore after bit, saw one come up after a pogy… No fish one or 2 whacks then we moved back in shore finding and fishing different pogie schools. As the sun was setting the fish came up and started blowing up on the schools. I got one 36 inch, few whacks, got bit on a musky doc. I set out the pogie on my fin nor conventional, immediately gets bit. This fish hit like a tuna, porpoised and smoked it, drag running. I set the hook, fought the fish and yell do you want the rod Tommy? (Son) “nah I’m good!, me- take the rod! It’s yours. It’s a big fish. Grabs it, drags screaming. Him helping him keep rod tip up. I lip it, HUGE FISH! Honestly May have been a new personal best, my PB is 32lbs. We got no measurements but this fish was one of the biggest fish I’ve seen! Total- I had a few whacks , got one. Tommy senior got one, Tommy Jr got 3
  2. It was a blood bath, lot of fish coming over the rails. That sucks about moving so much. I don’t recall moving much on our trip. I don’t have a picture of my teaser. It was pretty simple. Orange marabou tied on a hook. I like a bit of action on my teaser. We never used bait. Just jigging with big 16 ounce jigs and a teaser. No bait.
  3. I did more jigging when I went. One of the best salt days I’ve had. I always found clams were better out there. I’ve never used squid for deep sea bottom fishin. I did good with my hand tied cod teasers. I be mackerel would be good to. Slight chance for a unicorn(Atlantic halibut) with a big piece of mackerel on bottom.
  4. What boat did you go out on. I need to go back out on one. I went on Eastmans in NH. It was December, snowing, we caught so many big pollack. Pulling up 2 20lb fish at that same time from 200 feet deep. So much variety to. Haddock, cusk, pollack, redfish and sea ravens
  5. I’m surprised you don’t. Stripers are better then bass. I’d rather catch a 20 inch striper then a 20 inch largemouth. They are so much fun!
  6. Took a quick ride on my buddies boat, we got into fish quick. Fished 430-6. I got 5 fish with the biggest going 25lbs. All fish were over 30 inches. All on topwater. Then I had to try for weakfish. I got 4 weaks and missed a few. Fished 7-830
  7. It was a great evening yesterday. 150k sea robins, 5 weakfish, a striper and a fluke. Best weakfish bite I’ve been on.
  8. Kinda looks like a Livingston Viper
  9. My best year of bass fishing ever!
  10. April was incredible! Fished I disagree off. The DS 8 inch glide was the ticket! That bait caught so many fish. Missed a few giants. Caught a bunch of smaller fish. Started off the month with a new Pb. Going 8-2 22 inch brick! 8lbs 2 ounce 22 inch. Ds Glide 7lbs 1 ounce 21 inch Ds glide 6lbs 13 ounce 21inch Real Prey trout 5lbs 13 ounce 21 inch Ds Glide 5lbs 11 ounce 20 inch Ds Glide 3 fish over 7 on that glide since March. Got a 7lbs 5 ounce and 5lbs in March on the glide. 31lbs 6 ounce for the month bag. 35lbs for the year so far.
  11. Did a bit of salt and freshwater yesterday. Got a schoolie and a big windowpane flounder. Missed 2 other stripers. Then I went bass fishing, had a few good whacks. Missed a big fish on the giant wooden jitterbug.
  12. No bass fishing for me this week! But I did get my first fresh striper of the year. North of the cape, with sea lice. 25 inch feisty fish. She smoked the DS glide bait!
  13. Stuck a 5-13 yesterday, 2nd cast on the Ds glide! Had so many big fish follow it but wouldn’t bite!
  14. My buddy also lost, what he said was at least 9lbs” lost it at the net
  15. No giants this weekend. Fished sunrise both days. Got a couple of dinks on Saturday! Skunked this morning. But had one of the biggest bass I’ve ever seen smash the glide on the surface but it missed the bait!
  16. It’s 8 inches. Pretty deep but thin girth. It’s not a bulky bait, but has a big profile
  17. I’ve got on a good bite with the 175. With this glide, I like the bump the reel slow I haven’t seen those!
  18. It cast pretty good. It’s a thin bait. I can get a good cast with it. I friggin love this bait. No bait had single handedly caught this many giants for me. The 2nd closest is a 9 inch black slammer, lot of 5s and 6 on it.
  19. I fished the hell out of my DS glide bait. They only wanted the real prey forage trout. Got a 6lb 13 ounce 21 inch fish. She hit after I popped the bait off the bottom. Had another solid whack. Got a decent pickerel as well. So close to 7lbs!!!!!!
  20. Got another giant today. She went 7lbs 1 ounce. 21 inch brick. She hit the DS glide slow twitch near a overhanging tree. This is my 3rd over 7 and my 5 bass over 5 this year on this glide bait.
  21. Got out for the sunrise bite today. Missed a giant at spot 1. Got a fish about 3lbs. Few good whacks. I really thought I stuck the hooks in that giant. Fought her a few seconds and she spit. Spot 2, first cast had a huge wake come out from a tree to look at the glide, but she wouldn’t eat. Few casts later I stuck a 5.11 20 inch fish. the fish really love this DS glide!
  22. I tried for the night bite fished the hell out of topwaters, 3 small bass that made for a huge bag of 3lbs. I definitely should have brought the jigs, chatters, trigs and spinner baits
  23. Amen, I rather go stick another 8 then go buy another bait
