  1. I’ve caught fish by casting through the ice. Small fish like 1lbs or so but caught a few!
  2. A lot of my bodies of water don’t have tournaments. No big boats. Just weekend warriors. But they fish comparable to a big lake in terms of structures. Humps, ledges, points, etc. some guys I know clean house, but they fish different then me.
  3. Yea I don’t do the frozen line thing anymore! Luckily down here. Winters are a rollercoaster. 50 one day 20 the next. Our ice season could be 1 week, non existent or all winter
  4. Exactly!! I have my usual baits that I fish at these spots. But what would they do, how would they fish.
  5. I’ve always wondered how a pro would do if they could fish my honey holes. My honey holes are smaller bodies of water. Small boat waters. I’m definitely not at pro level. I would love to see how a pro would fish my spots
  6. Air above 40. Water when it freezes. Unless I’m losing it and need to fish then I will go ice fishin
  7. Got out before the storm. Did well. Got 4 bass, couple nice perch and 2 pickerel. Got a 4-4 Larry on a tube, a smallie and few other Larry’s on a blade bait. Also got a nice bass on my jig.
  8. I fish swimbaits alot big swimbaits! An 8 inch hudd works well in winter Our pre spawn in march and April that’s when it’s my time to shine. Water at or around 40
  9. Lot of sea run herring out this way. But they move back out to see in the summer. So they aren’t around as much in the lakes and ponds. It’s all fry now. We also have perch trout, sunfish and shiners
  10. Yea seems like above 50 I catch the bigger fish. Below 50 numbers but smaller fish
  11. Wow that’s awesome!
  12. I got 1 lost one on a jerkbait yesterday from shore. Small fish
  13. Wow impressive! I love the blade bait, have had some great days with it. I usually go deep and slow. I’m figuring out the jerkbait game. I do love shallow ponds during the warm windy storm fronts we get. But like I said always numbers no quality. That’s when I fish my swimbaits in winter
  14. Up here in Ma. My baits, are jerkbaits, tube baits, hair jigs, blade baits, swimbaits
  15. Any advice for catching bigger fish in the winter. I live in Massachusetts, so we aren’t talking 10s and teens, but 5lbs and up. I catch big fish from March-October but when it gets cold, my quality goes down. I catch the numbers in the cold months but never anything big. I’ve never broken 5lbs between November and February. I did have a phenomenal spring, got 8-2, 7-5 , 7-1 6-13 and a 5-11 in a month. I fish all sorts of waters, deep clear to shallow and weedy. Big swimbaits to small finesse gear. But I can’t find the bigger fish. Biggest is 3-4lbs
  16. Yep. Love hair jigs, big swimbaits, tubes, blades this time of year. Forcing my self to learn jerkbaits
  17. Black is a very natural color. Almost all bait fish species have some black in its pattern
  18. Hahaa yep!! Went to Ny, fishing Niagara river. We were planning on staying until Sunday but they are getting 3 feet of snow so we had to cut trip short. It was a grind, fished hard in winter weather. But we got em. I got 2 kings and 6 lakers. My buddy got 2 smallies, 2 lakers, 3 kings and a walleye. The lakers were loving the jigs I made!
  19. It’s hard. Big learning curve, but also very good if you can use it properly in the situations that need it. I get out fished by pins very often! Smoked the lakers in Ny this week on jigs I made.
  20. Pike are fun. I don’t catch them often. I have to drive far but I love them I’m dying to catch a musky. Bucketlist fish
  21. I have a 110 different fish species. I will chase anything from sunfish to tuna. I’m a fishermen not a bass angler.
  22. Wow 20lb bag of smallies. That’s awesome
  23. If I’m fishing deep, I fish blades, tubes, hair jigs, small swimbaits on bottom. If I’m fishing shallow, swimbaits and jerkbaits. I’ve had good swimbaits bites in winter
  24. The stripers love this warm up. Got 6 the last 2 days off my backyard. Missed many more!
