Early spring bassin
Awesome! I’m fishing bog ponds. They do tend to warm up quicker though. But there’s legit no depth for the fish to fall back to winter over!

Early spring bassin
How are you guys fishing early spring in shallow ponds? Like no more then 10 feet. That’s being generous with the depth. Some places aren’t more then 6 feet. Loaded with stumps and weeds. Water temps in the 40s? 50s? I’m in Massachusetts so I’m talking like early spring. March when it’s finally starting to warm up.

Gear for spring...

Moisture inside hardbait
Yep. Like the cotton Cordell. I fish the cape cod canal.

Deep grass beds
Yea pretty crazy. The 2 places I have in mind, not a lot of shallow weeds. There’s some but most of the weeds are deeper. No emergent weeds. Just grass on bottom. You can see the bottom pretty easily and it doesn’t get weedy until it’s 6 feet. Some spots the weeds are shallow but they are protected coves. I was on a mussel weed bed hump in 19 feet of water. Pretty awesome spot

Deep grass beds
I’m bored and getting excited for the warmer weather. Let’s talk fishing! How you guys fishin deep grass beds. I have grass down to 20 feet Maybe more. Clear water. All sorts of grass, not just one type. I love fishing tubes, t rigs, jigs swimbaits on bottom.

Moisture inside hardbait
It’s no a lot, it’s just a few droplets of waters Nope no rock at this spot. Just some shoreline trees and weeds. Didn’t hit a thing that would have broke it. Not cracked. It was fresh from the package

Moisture inside hardbait
I bought a 6th sense quake the other day. Went to go test it out. Fished an hour or so. I just went to go hang up my gear, ITS STILL WINTER. I noticed that there was moisture inside the bait. How do I dry it out? How do I seal it. Does it mater? I don’t want it to get rusty inside. Which has started. It’s a clear-ish bait so I can see it. Wouldn’t be bad if I couldn’t see through it with a light.

Standing Timber
I haven’t fished it in years due to a fish kill during a brutal winter in 2015. But these local swimbait “heros” have been hitting it and catching big fish now. So I gota get back there again!

Off-Shore Lure Recs
My “offshore fishin” is pretty much the same, if I’m casting in open water, if it’s 10 feet or 30. I’m fishing a jig, a t rig plastics, a tube and a soft swimbait! That’s if I’m not fishing visible structures and cover. Blade bait if it’s winter!

Standing Timber
I have a spot that has a massive area of standing timber, but it’s all shallow weeds, milfoil and Lilly pads! How’d you guys fish this? Assuming pick apart flippin, pitchin, punchin, and froggin

Getting ready for spring!
I love the pro model coffee tube. Absolutely love it, always seems to get bit for me. Got so many rage plastics. They are my favorite. Lobster, craw, bug, space monkey, smoking rooster, menace, swimmer, chunk. also just stocked up on jerkbaits, I bought 2 the other day, did well on em liked how they swim: bought more. I suck with jerkbaits but I’m trying to learn! Why not use one of my favorite brands

Your Quiet Place
I got a lot of quiet places, smaller ponds in the woods! Seen so much wild life. Night fishing out there remote spots is awesome! I don’t fish big lakes with big boats. All cartop spots or shore spots. It’s awesome. I very rarely see other people I love it! I have so many favorite spots!

Custom plastic shops you guys use?
Samatis baits, BiCO jigs battle craw. Im trying Beast Coast this year. All local New England baits. If you want awesome soft swimbaits. From 3.5 inches to 10 inches I highly recommend Real Prey swimbaits.

Golden shiner lures
I have like 20 of his baits lol. I love them, big 8 inch shiner, the 10 inch trout, mega shad, the 7 inch shiner, forage trouts, alewives etc. his baits are the only soft baits I’ll throw! He’s local, a good dude, awesome baits can’t beat it. I’ve fished hudds a lot but not any more!
-
Swim jigs
I fish a ton of clear water! Lot of weedy clear clean water. Lot of bait fish to!
-
Swim jigs
Awesome info! This is why I love this forum! So like I said before, I have a variety of places, deep weeds on bottom, shallow weeds, matted, submerged just under the surface, clear water, stained water, Lilly pad flats! You name it! Im liking the idea of being able to fish the weeds without a problem, like ripping jigs off the bottom in the deep weeds, or casting into the shallow mats!

Swim jigs
Thank you. I’ll probably buy some beefy swim jigs soon. There’s a fishing show coming up, Beast coast will be there. Planting on stockin up. What scenarios do you fish a lighter swim jig compared to a beefy swim jig
-
Swim jigs
I’ve got a few of those. Love the rage series
