By saying than every citizen has a right to access the water, do you mean that you don't have to get any fishing licence to fish ? Are there some kinds of DNR in Cyprus ? Don't take it bad, but I think most Europeans pay little (if any) attention to Cyprus. (A minority of bass fishermen here knows about the bass fishing potential of Cyprus). And I'm pretty sure most of them would mistake Cyprus for Malta on a map. I think most people here just don't understand how Cyprus really works. Most people are pretty confused as to whether Cyprus is really united or still is a bi-system island (Cyprus + TRNC = Cyprus ?) But I'm not going political here... I don't know enough about Cyprus to really discuss the issue. Since Cyprus is in the European Union, maybe you should take a look at the possibilities offered to file a complain against your gov for water ressources mismanagment. I know that the EU has a strong policy in terms of water systems rehabilitation. You might want to contact the Effta too, their purpose is to stand up for the interest of the fishing industry as whole in Europe. I pray for you to get rain showers soon. But that would still be just a short-term solution, if the managment of the ressources is to keep getting worse.

Hi John, Well Lavrax was the last one to won regularly with the Crazy Craddle (Evergreen), posted by Daniel (T-Rig). So we are basically waiting for Lavrax to put a new one on display. well, History is being written right now ! The barrel went well over 130, up to 135 today. It then repositioned a little under 133.5 I'm no expert, but I don't think we will see the prices going down anytime soon. Could it be that most investors have left the normal financial equities after the subprime story and are now speculating on raw materials (we've also seen a dramatic growth in the price of gold for instance) ... that plus the fact that China and India are adopting the western way of life. Let's see the good points in it, we will have to trade our cars for bikes and our boats for float tube. At least, that will be keep us in shape.

A lot of us also have cigarettes or oil/gaz scent on our hands. Megastrike can help hiding those. Honnestly, I don't think a bass will travel miles to the source of the scent. I'm not sure they really relate to scent in their predatory behavior. But I personnaly think that adding scents to my softbaits and jigs will give me an edge in terms of hookset on difficult day. Anyway, maybe it does nothing at all, but as long as it doesn't hurt my fishing, I'll take it. At least, that will give you extra confidence in your presentation, and confidence always accounts for the vast majority of your success.

1.4 euro per liter for SP95 (unleaded) here That's like US $2.2 for a liter. And need I tell a US gallon is like 3.7 liters. So if I buy 3.7 liters (1 US gallon) I pay around 5.18 (like US $8.3). Fortunately I get nice savings on every stuff I buy in the US with the nice US/Euro conversion. I need a nuclear propelled car still !

I feel your pain buddy. Let's say Cyprus could have been Europe's own El-Salto. Not to mention all the commercial breaks I keep seeing on CNN and CNBC depicting Cyprus as the year round island where everything is greener than anywhere else. Not anymore as it seems. Pity ! Well...that's actually a northern pike ! Unfortunately we don't have muskies around here. The only time I got to fish for musky was when I was in MN. I sure miss those toothy fish, although I miss smallies much more.

Hey y'all from faraway Cyprus.... I'm sorry I won't be able to provide you with those articles. I don't store magazines.... at least not the french ones. But I'm pretty sure it was older than 2005. Not in Le Pêcheur de France though, rather in "Voyages de Pêche". And another one in La Pêche des Carnassiers I think. The guys that went there were most likely zander fishermen (brackovitch style) ..or should I say zander killer (even here in France). So the Bass in Cyprus were just another kind of food for them. Pretty lame but most people still do the same here on the continent. I also read serious article about bass fishing in Cyprus, but I guess Cyprus never became a dream destination for Europeans because of the distance for most and the redundant lack of water, which was always empharsized in every single article. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure I read another Cyprus related article in a german magazine. I don't know if you speak german but you might want to check Der Raubfisch or Fisch & Fang. Ask Daniel.... he should know more than me about it.

Well I didn't mean to offense anyone. It just so happened that I use to have a couple of those craw tubes (with bang in them). I just couldn't find the brand I use to own. So I google "Craw tube".... I bet yours are just as good as those from LFT, if not better. I've never use either yours or LFT's, so I can't really tell. But I trust all the members that are happy with your lures. And for the record, I don't know what kind of relations exist between those LFT and You. As you mention in your lattest post, you've explained it a great number of times, I guess I'll have to look for it in the old posts. Again sorry if there was any kind of misunderstanding. TL Max

Daniel .... that's definitely a strange looking fish. It has the shape of a rudd... a big one too. But the fins do not concord, they rather look like the fins of a chub. Might as well be some kind of hybrid. For me that's just another baitfish .... a big one ;D !

Hi Cybasser, Like they say, don't judge a book by its cover. I can read french of course and I can tell you Predators is not much of a magazine. The quality of the articles is pretty low when it comes to techniques. They only have good graphics and fun layouts to attract the younger fishermen and a no-kill spirit, which I gotta say is a huge departure from what we had thus far. But it's way too expensive and full of ads. As for Le Pêcheur, they are improving but still have a long long way to go. Too many trash pictures and stuff.... I only read US magazines for Bass.... no serious mag in Europe. I'll keep you posted on the Predator issue. I'm not sure I read this article you're talking about. But I know that most articles about Cyprus that are published in french magazines are usually pretty "trash". Lots of dry killed bass, pictures of week-fresh zanders.
