  1. The 12 dollar Zebco spin cast combo...yes guys that's 6 dollars for the reel...6 bucks for the rod...
  2. My question is....after buying it guys...does it work? Simple yay or nay...mine sitting in the living room and apparently I got the wrong size!!
  3. Thanks guys, got a 12 hour shift ahead of me...hopefully it doesn't rack my brain all day. I appreciate the responses and the support. Well my daughter has been in my care since she was born only until this past month, wouldn't that eliminate back child support? And I only have receipts for this past month...never did I think I would have to save receipts because of this type of situation. I guess these would all be questions for the lawyer...well alright...time to drink my coffee and hit the road!!
  4. Is this a shop or your own personal collection?
  5. For braid I use spider wire predominantly. The only reason for this is because it was my first choice of line and it has landed me my first hogs, so in my eyes I ask why change something that works. So my opinion on line isn't that great, although I noticed spider wire faded and frayed just like with your experience. So reiterating on the topic I want to ask, don't all braided lines fray at some point? And perhaps the structure you're fishing make lines fray quicker than others no matter the brand? And also, does a faded line effect anything? If so, how much? 2lbs...3 lbs of test? If any effect at all? And with 30 to 65 lb braid...what's a lb or 2?
  6. Well about 40 simmod days ago me and my girlfriend split up and she moved into her parents house. That's fine, plenty of fish and if she isn't the one then she isn't the one. Unfortunately, this is the mother of my daughter. Since splitting up I've had...let's politely say difficult time...trying to see babygirl. She's made it clear to me that we won't be making our house a home anymore and blah blah, I accept that..but let me see my daughter. I know I have rights, but law enforcement has informed me that what the mother says, goes. At this point I'm willing to place myself on child support voluntarily. I'm gonna take care of her whether me and her mother are together or not, so either way you look at it, the support will come in both situations regardless. Do I take this step? This is the only way I can guarantee my rights to see her. I feel as if, doing this will secure the opportunity for me to have a relationship with babygirl....what do yall think? Any opinions?
  7. Oh no I wouldn't pay for a guide, not knowing is the exciting part
  8. @A-JayCouldn't agree more, headed to dinner with my girls (fiance and daughter), gonna grab a chicken fried steak as big as the plate!!! Perhaps corn, green beans and some mashed taters! Southern living Maybe sneak a Shiner Bock past her
  9. I have a pack of flukes in albino and smoking shad, on the retrieve of a fluke weightlesss, how do you work it? I see now you already told me..lol sorry...the heats got me in Texas.
  10. Well no luck so far...don't know why...lol. I guess you can tell I'm loopy from the heat!! Taking a sandwich break in the car. The heat is hot but I gotta pull one in. @A-Jay Had a 10 inch on that 1/4 Oz chatter and paddle tail and one that I got 10 feet from me and lost him, like you said don't change it? Lol lost him on a lay down...so I think I might pull the net from my trunk and try to get some of these shad I see, also there's tons of cats and gar swimming inches from the bank...so hopefully I link up with something over 16in whatever the species. We'll see, tight lines!! Sitting here eating my sandwich, they're taunting me busting out like killerwhales!!! Hey my brothers live in Dallas, relatively close than I am (Centex)..but I was wondering if that was a public lake or would I have to pay for a guide to fish there? Lake Fork that is..
  11. Jeez!!!! Just pulled up and the boys are splashing everywhere!! I thought the heat was going to hinder my chances (106°)!! Wish me luck guys!! BTW @Fishinthefish I wish we had Keitech at my local Academy or walmart!! Closest I could find were SK swimbaits so went with the zoom flukes instead, I'll have to find a way to get some Keitechs to try them out! Also, I'm fishing a cove right behind a marina here at Belton Lake in Texas. Those are some huge stripers on his site!!
  12. Sort of like a curly tail grub / worm? @A-Jay thanks for the advice! I'm headed out now, got a late start, hopefully this heat doesn't kill me
  13. Makes sense!! Thanks for responding. Do you have any idea why they wouldn't bite on the spinner/cranks? Maybe it was the action of the blade that attracted them?
  14. The LH frog!!! Comes back like a water balloon right out of the package...as soon as it hit the water it turned into a swimming frog!! Oh well..win some ya lose some.
  15. I'm curious as to how everything went!!! Please share!!!
  16. Yesterday I wasn't having any luck as schools of bait fish (small whitish/silver fish with light blue/sometimes purple back, kind of resembles the sexy shad colored cranks) were getting exploded on everywhere, I mean everywhere!! I tried some cranks, a buzzbait, and fished a small white spinner a couple inches under the surface...no luck. I thought I would experiment and threw a 1/8 ounce white chatter zman, but instead of the z trailer I put on a (white ice) Swimming Fluke Jr. (Never used either lures let alone together) Tap, tap, tap, 3 fish later I realized I found the pattern and matched the hatch. I want to throw out a 3/8 Oz chatter today with a regular super fluke as a trailer, so do yall you think it would be a mistake to switch it up? All I caught were some 1-2 pounders yesterday and I'm thinking that with maybe a bigger profile I might attract a bigger bass. What do yall think about switching it up after having success with a smaller lure? And has anyone else thrown a chatter with a fluke as a trailer? Also could anybody recommend other modifications to the chatterbait that I could try out? Thanks in advance, and appreciate the advice!! And it's hot in Tx, so guys stay hydrated out there!!! Tight lines!!
  17. Zoom, zoom, zoom...zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom. (LOL like the old commercial)
  18. Never seen an albino cat, that's awesome!
  19. I had the same problem taking too many lures and switching too often, thinking the bass didn't like what I was giving them. I went out today with one intention, catch a bass on a baby brush hog, and that I did. Nice catch, I should try a senko next!!
  20. I have a hard time detecting the fish when throwing a weightless rig. Maybe because my pond doesn't have bass that big!! Nice catch!!
  21. I've had a tough time lately hooking up at my local pond, usually it's very productive..until these past 2 weeks. I was reading the forums in what lures other anglers use on their ponds and what produces for everyone. I read one post that said the more lures that you take results in not catching anything because you're too busy switching lures. And this is true, lately I was changing lures rapidly trying to find the sure thing, thinking the bass weren't biting. Today I went out with one pack of Owner shaky type hooks and a pack of GP baby brush hogs. It took awhile...but after covering the bank I started to connect. This was because I was paying more attention on how to swim, flip, pitch, and jig this plastic...instead of trying to find something else. (Thinking the bass just didn't like that lure) I just wanna say thanks to the guys that gave me a different insight on my problem and helped me hook up today, really felt great after the long slump!!
