Targeting record size Bluegill with lure
Does anybody ever go out and target Bluegill, if so what lure do yall choose? No silly answers like pellets, corn, or worms. Like actual favorite lure to catch one on.

New PB, caught in Prespawn!
I just did some research and come to find out the lake record Smallie is 6.43lbs. To believe I was close to the record made me realize I'll probably never catch a Smallie of that size again.

- Making Hair Jigs

Are these baits a Ned Rig
Ned fly!! And just curious...but do any of you guys know who this Ned fellow is?

And I'm sticking to it!!
@Kidflex I chose colors and lures that are already proven to make this a little easier on me. @IndianaFinesse I live in central Texas so top waters are always an option to throw @Deeare What's the offer?!! On a serious note though, half is better than what ive done...I haven't thrown 90% of these!! Does anybody have advise on how to retrieve the Rapala Original Floater and how can I keep the 110 from diving down so low when I jerk it...I've always come back with a bunch of grass, has to be something I can change on the retrieve right? And the Squarebill are always a steady retrieve, just a change in how fast I bring it through the water right?

And I'm sticking to it!!
I think my most troubling lures are going to be the jerkbait and square bills I really want to use the jointed rapala and that bluegill Squarebill but have no idea how to fish either of them

Is it just me or...
I love bass. I also love thrusting a 4/0 EWG hook through its face. Sorry, but I love to horse them in...and the small ones tend to get horsed in on a wake board..oh and I also love the bass doctor and therapist that mends their wounds and helps them sort out their PTSD to bite again tomorrow.

And I'm sticking to it!!
These next couple of months these are the only baits I will wish. The lure won't be replaced and I won't make a new box until every lure has caught a fish. Last year I bought so much stuff and never got wet. This year I'm going to dissect my tackle. 2 Baby Pad Crashers I think? I don't know...seems like some green one and bullfrog Jitterbug Rebel Popr (I've caught 1 on this, dink) Whopper Plopper Vision 110..some shad with purple back Jointed original Rapala Floater..silver/black back Berkley Cutter 90+SP..some blue gill print/orange belly Rat-l-trap..white/silver back and orange craw Xcite baits Squarebill..some blue gill print SK 1.5 Squarebill ..some bright orange red craw and SS

~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
@MassYak85 @roadwarrior I will always stick by my Boys...iif you cant respect that than you're just another bandwagon hitchhiker!!! Also losing the first round isn't as bad as it sounds...considering they went against a superbowl ready Green Bay team... I don't think they should've sat their starters out in the last game of the regular season...they should've played them to keep the team in sync...instead we gave Romo a job interview drive, which he did great in which will land Jerry a nice trade in the near future and gave Sanchez a career ending spotlight...we weren't thinking ahead...or were we? 2 rooks? Dominate the regular season? There will be years upon years to come of Cowboys domination to come...

Rat-L-Trap is still the hot lure
Does anyone have any experience/or tried a Rapala Rippin Rap before? I have a few but never tied them on..

BPS Micro-lite
I got a 4'6" Ugly Stik GX2 combo for my bluegills fun a couple months back, super impressed with it!!

~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
IMHO the Falcons didn't WANT the ring and NO TELLING what the Pats did to get it...neither will ever be as good as my boys!! America's team baby!!! And if they were disciplined and experienced enough to make it past the first freaking round...tthey would've spanked Tommy tonight...hands down...

~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
I don't think the Pats won the superbowl..it's more on the side of Atlanta lost the superbowl...or gave up the superbowl...28-3?? And you let them come back?? What a joke.

Rat-L-Trap is still the hot lure
@the reel ess I remember one night I was fishing a dock with my friend, and a count of other guys down there...long story short...they didn't catch a darn thing and I ended up catching 3 bass, 1 crappie, 1 bluegill, and a black drum all off of a small rat-l-trap..the 1.5in one? Or maybe inch..it was tiny. But it worked that's for sure!!! It's definitely an all season bait!!! My favorite color is the white with gray back!! Here's the drum...that's a black drum right?

New PB, caught in Prespawn!
Thanks everyone!! It definitely fought harder than any LMB that I've caught. She stayed under until she was 6 feet from the bank and started head shaking like crazy...to be honest I was quite overwhelmed. I thought I had caught a bucket and it was just swaying left and right until I saw her. On another note...if the Falcons let the Pats come back after that deficit I'm going to be very disappointed.

New PB, caught in Prespawn!
New PB, smallie, caught on jig by the marina...has me so excited I'm going again this morning!!!!!!!
-
Prespawn Lure Selection
My first prespawn smallie on a booyah jig with a rage craw as a trailer, Bama craw, complimented with 2 rattles! Read that the big girls like to feed on craws when they're getting ready to spawn...guess whoever wrote it was on the right track...well it's a big girl to me at least!! 4.26lbs, my new PB!!!

Bank Fishing
Also I use a 6'4" Ugly Stik GX2, 12 lb flouro, with that 50 dollar baitcaster lews reel from walmart...just gotta get out there and keep practicing and fish do the mojo...tight lines

Bank Fishing
Bank fishing with a bait caster...rocks galore...**** loads of stand ups...it's all about what you're comfortable with and confident in...

Yamamoto baits
Have a couple of his hardbaits...sqaurebills, divers, and poppers....the Shibuki Popper is awesome and so is the Chikara crank..
- How do I avoid pike?
- Should this have happened?
-
Moving Baits, Hard vs. Soft
I don't like the hardbaits in cover because of all the trebbles. Now skimming a fluke or fluke type plastic close to the top and bumping the cover can be deadly....the bass feel the vibration from whatever you hit, they look up and TIGHT LINES!!
