  1. For that rod, I’d look at the Daiwa Regal or Fuego, but a better option would be a used Tatula LT. Those Kage rods fish above their price. I had the 6’10 medium/fast and wouldn’t hesitate buying more of them.
  2. 10-15lb braid to a 8-10lb flouro leader if you want
  3. All depending on how much you wanna spend, but Megabass has quite a few rods to choose from. However, there is one I'd recommend: Megabass Orochi XXX Destruction 1/2-2oz range and it will cast a 2oz swimbait. There are other rods in the Megabass line, but rather pricey. Ie P5 Tequilla Bacarrac and others. You can pair it up with a Curado K, Curado DC, or a Bantam MGL, go with a 7:1 gear ratio.
  4. Texas rigged creature bait or a weightless fluke, belly weighted swimbait. These are all good options.
  5. Im talking about 1/8-3/16 oz Spinnerbait that has a light wire hook. I’ll check this out.
  6. Are these hooks light wire? That’s what I’m looking for. I’ve looked at most the options mentioned.
  7. Looking for lightwire hooks spinnerbaits, ideally between 3/16-5/16 oz. Suggestions? Is there such a thing?
  8. Let me share my experiences: I have fished my Bantam for almost two seasons and before that I had an Alderberan, Chronarch MGL, Curado K plus lots of Daiwas. Simply put the Bantam is a workhorse of a reel and can pull fish from the thickest weeds, pads, and out of the deep. Change the handle to something 96 or bigger, buy the 7:1 gear ratio in the correct hand you’ll be set. The Bantam is the only Shimano reel I still own, it rivals my Steezes in smoothness, beats everything in sheer power. If I had to choose one reel platform to fish for everything from Shimano, it would be the bantam.

Could a person still order some?
  10. I'd look at the 7'M or 7'2MH for shakyheads in spinning rods, the 7'1 ML might work too, it's got a good amount of backbone for a ML/F. I have the 6'10 med/fast and 7'1ML, they definitely punch above their price point.
  11. It’s not made anymore but my Powell Inferno 7ft med-mod fast is great for shallow to medium depth. Best 100bucks I’ve spent on a rod.
  12. Bantamn MGL w/ 96mm handle from Metanium or a Zillion HD would be a runner up
  13. I'll agree to disagree with that statement.
  14. Quick search and you are right, not worth getting it painted.
  15. Who does reel painting? Not looking for anything fancy, just cover up boat rash. If you want to make comments about how I spend my money, don’t please.
  16. Welcome! I’m in Minnesota as well. Glad to have you here.
  17. Thanks for making it happen!
  18. You’re welcome @DomQ!
  19. If you’re looking for a chatterbait rod that can handle milfoil I would step up to the Tour Versatile with its MH and you can run braid or braid to fouro leader. Honestly a perfect pitch or a destruction wouldn’t be bad choices depending on how heavy of grass you’re fishing. I’m in Minnesota and let me tell ya, there are times I don’t pick up a chatterbait cause of the grass, instead it’s a swimjig. But for your situation, consider these three: Tour Versatile, Destruction plenty of backbone, Perfect Pitch, and DSR. These rods can do plenty of other things as well. The Destrction is a jdm model which can be found at Tackle Trap.
  20. MH Medium Fast to fast length: 6’10-7’3 reel: Daiwa 7:3 or 7:1 Tatula or Zillion line 30lb braid to a flouro leader.
  21. 2 6th sense jerkbaits 1 duel +2 crankbait 1 1/2oz Dobyns Spinnerbait love it!! Can’t wait to fish them! Thank you!! Love if!!
