  1. My fishing OCD will not allow me to use unpainted jigheads. I normally make them each year before the season. Since I have the time I like to make them right. Now there are times where I run out in the summer that I just throw things together. Allen
  2. He is the master! I have some knowledge but bluebasser is the man at identifying lures. Allen
  3. Say what? Looks like I need to stock up now then on my favorite colors. Allen
  4. Chatterbait and trust me I am trying! Last time out I was wrecking them on a double Indiana spinnerbait so I figured the chatterbait should work. Lost 4 t0 snags and one I think was a tiger musky but hey I actually got a bite on one so I was surprised, Allen
  5. I don't understand your first question? Balsa is sold in different pound densities and from what I remember a 10-12lb density is what most baits are made of? Otherwise I am not sure what you are talking about. As for making harnesses lay the bait you are trying to make a harness for on its side. Drive some nails that are the same size as your line tie and hook ties through the holes. Now you have a framework to bend thru-wire around the nails to create a harness. Allen
  6. Did you make that jig? Allen
  7. Baitmold.com , he is in the Ukraine so it takes a while to get them. Allen
  8. You guys should have seen the first hair jig I tied. Decided to use super glue and GP bucktail. Ended up gluing the bucktail to my fingers and my hand looked like the Grinch that stole Christmas. Allen
  9. I have 2 a 75mm and a 100mm molds. Allen
  10. Thanks for the nomination but anything I try wrapping with thread is a disaster. Those whip finish tools I had two. One I threw somewhere into the alley behind my house. The other I took two pairs of channel lock pliers and mangled. Allen
  11. A few years ago I was pouring some flukes and since the tails are hard to pour I used my bare hand. Pyrex cup hit the lip on my microwave and I poured like 3oz of molten plastic over my hand. Fingers were burned very badly and swelled up to twice there size with blisters. Decided not to pour anymore plastics for about 5 years. If I can find the pics I will post them but it was not pretty. Allen
  12. NAllenothing has really wowed me for a few years? Lots of gimmicks and rehashing of old baits adding more appendages.
  13. Buy some scissors, some pumpkinseed Zoom super chunks, and some watermelon dye (e.g. JJ's or whoever). Use the scissors to cut the wedge in the craw arms then dip the ends into the watermelon dye. Allen On second review they might just be green pumkin with the tips dyed in chartreuse. Still need the scissors though. Allen
  14. Hopefully if enough people respond to this we can get it pinned to the board. Allen
  15. Devcon 2 ton works best but unless you are mixing up a batch to do a lot of jigs I use the Super Glue Gel like everyone else. I have never had a gel weedguard pull out in like 8 years of using it. Allen
  16. It would be great if someone started selling these besides the $7 for 2 ones you can buy. Allen
  17. Now you are getting into my world! I learned long ago to show pressured fish something they have not seen before. Many of fish have been caught on the Potomac because everyone is using a LC pointer or a Smithwck Rogue while I am throwing a Evergreen squad minnow or Imakatsu Ripriser. One tournament when the water was low and crystal clear I almost felt guilty with the number of bass I caught on a M1 Inspire minnow. Allen

Check Alibaba.com and see if you can find some more. Allen
  19. Tough place to fish period and even worse if you are shore bound. I have fished there for 20+ years so I would recommend 3 different places all close to one another. There is a state launch ramp, if you are standing at the ramp the shoreline between the ramp and the first cove to the left is good. That cove on the left has some docks that are state owned and the DNR parks their boats there that is number 2. Further in that cove there is a bridge and that has always been a good spot for me. Allen
  20. Sad thing is everyone is catching fish on those swim jigs but me. Whiteish spinnerbait with dual Indiana blades has been working the best for me lately. Allen
  21. Biggest mistakes I see when people make spinnerbaits is too much space between the two blades and too large of a front blade. The blades need to work in harmony with each other. Allen
  22. You can roll your own but I have had a lot better luck with the R-Bend baits. Allen
  23. There you go from a master spinnerbait maker himself. Allen
  24. On vacation and that requires a long response with pictures for examples. Give me a couple of days and I will post about it. Maybe I should just buy a camera and start making videos like smalljaw67 as it is easier to explain things. Allen
  25. They have turned out better than I expected. Have to order some more heads soon as I am running low. Allen
