  1. I have a 3SMLXF Avid and am looking to upgrade since this feels too light? Figured I would go with a 4 or 5 CMLXF blank as a replacement. Don't they make the SCV in brown as well? Allen

That jig is similar and I can see that they are using round rubber for the skirts. Allen
  3. Can I get a SCV Blank in black or the natural grey color? I want to use a higher end blank but do not like gloss flip blue or whatever they are calling it. Allen
  4. Shimano makes a lure called the living cicada that should work. Allen
  5. Agreed, I shouldn't need an engineering degree to tie on a jig. Allen
  6. Personally I only use spinning rods for lures that are too light for a baitcaster. If you are comfortable with the spinning rod than use it. Like spinnerbaits every rod with a rating of about 8 to 20lbs with line in the same range has worked for me with swim jigs. Allen
  7. There was a company called Vertical that made a jig x where you put the line through the head like a bullet weight. The actual hook eye was underneath where the collar sets. I am looking at this with my phone so I can't view your pictures very well to see. Allen
  8. I use these hooks as well in all 3 sizes depending on the bait. Allen
  9. Here in Merryland the saying is any color works as long as it's white. Allen
  10. http://69.16.194.131/prod/MTYyMzEyMjk0/Hilts-Fishing-Tackle-Lead-Weight-Sinker-Mold-Arky-M-Lead-Head-Jig-Asst Look into Hilts Molds as Do-It isn't the only game in town. Allen
  11. I have that problem as well and I am worried about getting burned. Allen
  12. It would be easier just to buy a new mold that has the weedguard slots already. Allen
  13. Either will work and when I am throwing a weighted head Jackal Flick Shake is the best. Allen
  14. Two or three jerks then a pause is what I start with but cadence is something you have to figure out. As for favorite baits I like a LC Slender Pointer the best in Pearl Ayu or Ghost Minnow. Allen

If fished as is without any ballast I would expect this bait to run about 2' before flipping upside down on retrieve. Allen

I was wondering about that myself? Unless they plan on adding a heavy belly ballast I don't see that bait running correctly. Allen
  17. Wish they still made the Sweet Pea. Allen
  18. Anything can be used as a jig trailer. Allen
  19. It is more of a finesse bait and does not work as well for me as the Gunnish. Allen
  20. Make some in the same colors of the soft plastics you use. Allen
  21. Agreed One I have been using lately is one tab brown, one tab GP, and 1/2 tab black. Allen
  22. Not sure about the trailer but I have been using that color of football jig for years. Allen

Can you post that video link. Allen
  24. Unless you use a lot of jigs it isn't worth pouring them just buy the heads from one of the sources above. Allen
  25. Baitfish colored swim jig and I will have to see what color bottom jig they like this year. Most of the time it is GP but last year it was light brown with one or two strands of blue. Allen
