  1. Let me know if you find one that doesn't work? Zoom are sold everywhere and have worked for years. Allen
  2. Sally Hansens Hard as Nails works great and it is what I use to put eyes on jigs. Like others have mentioned powder paint really hold up well so I see no need for a clear coat. The only time I clear over a regular jig is if I want to add some flake. Cadman has probably made more jigs than anyone on this board and is an expert in powder painting. Allen
  3. Cabin Creek Bassmasters will be having their annual Flea Market at the Washington County Ag Center on January 17 & 18. Obviously it's a flea market but we do have a few vendors including River Rock Custom Baits Pappy's Baits B&B Lures Tuscarora Tackle and a few others. We will be having an auction at 12 noon on Sunday and the proceeds will go towards the Nelson L. (Butch) Ward Memorial Youth Scholarship Fund. Saturday and Sunday January 17th and 18th 9 AM till 1 PM (doors open at 8:00 on Saturday) There will be a food stand run by Mrs. Gibbles Restaurant Washington County MD Agriculture Education Center 7313 Sharpsburg Pike Boonsboro, MD 21713 That is the weekend. Allen
  4. There are quite a few in the area that I know of. Antietam Boonsboro Williamsport (This is the one I currently fish) Outcast Hub City Cabin Creek These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head? Cabin Creek has a fishing flea market the weekend on January 18th (I need to double check that date). I suggest you come buy as just about every club will be there in some fashion. If you need me to answer any questions just send me a PM. Allen
  5. I heard that fishing that club was dangerous and I should wear a hockey mask if I do. Allen
  6. You joke but there are a lot of posts that pop up like that? " I am throwing a SK 6XD, Sexy shad color in a 3' deep pond and keep getting hung up. If I switch to the 6XD in Red Craw will it get hung up more or less?" Allen
  7. Just hoping we can set aside all those questions for some discussions that will help. Case in point: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/76292-demystifying-structure/ This thread is very useful and I have it saved to my favorites to re-read occaisionally. The " I fish my 4th cousins, ex-stepfathers, half-brothers 1 acre farm pond what color senko should I use?" is played out. Those fish in that pond will hit any dam colored senko you throw so quit overthinking it. I am not trying to come off as a d**k just hoping to get some better discussions going. Allen
  8. Caught 2 last year about 36" flippin docks at Deep Creek Lake, MD on a 1/2oz jig. Personal best was 42' caught on a LC Slender pointer 97mr that never ran right again. Allen
  9. On any "What is your favorite" or "If you could only have one whatever" threads. No one on here is going to be parachuted behind enemy lines with only a single lure to catch bass. Allen
  10. Ebay or Ichiban tackle is where I find stuff like this. Allen
  11. Pick up any in Natural Shad that you would like to get rid of? I use these when I need a slower fall or want a slimmer profile. Allen
  12. Bandit 300 SK 5 or 6 series Allen
  13. Ball or Arky Allen
  14. The smell and stickiness is from the manufacturing process. Normally they let the tabs air dry enough but sometimes they do not. Charles from Fishingskirts.com told me a couple years ago just to let them air out for awhile and it will go away. Allen
  15. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/147890-overall-advice-for-anyone-interested-in-tacklemaking/ See the above post. I suggest trying to pour some baits in Lure Craft molds first before trying to make them. Crankbaits made from wood are very tough for a beginner unless you are good at wood carving. Even if you are good at carving a lot goes into making a crankbait like ballasting, lip angle, sealing the bait, etc. If you are dead stuck on a wooden lure try making a topwater. Allen
  16. The ones I tie look like crap but they catch fish which is all that matters. Bear hair on a football head with a F12 weedguard is my favorite. Allen
  17. Columbia coatings is where I bought mine. They run sales and I bought a pound of matte black for like $15 shipped. Allen
  18. Won my first Non-US fishing tournament last week. Fished an open the hotel we were staying at had in Jamaica. Caught 23 "Jamaican black bass" (What the guy from the hotel called them, they looked like dark colored goggle-eyes to me) in 30 minutes for the win. Allen
  19. Uncle Josh pork trailers or something like a Zoom small chunk. Allen
  20. Finding alternative hooks that fit is a pain some times. I bought one of those steelhead collarless Do-It molds to make flick shake heads with but cannot find any hooks. All the hooks I try the eye is too tall and the stock hooks are too heavy for light line. Allen
  21. Don't come fish the Upper Potomac then! Between pre-fishing and tournaments the past two years I have calculated it take 6.2 hours to catch a keeper (12") bass. I caught a 15" SM the last tournament and won 1st and lunker beating out the 12 1/8" that took 2nd, no other fish were caught. Allen
  22. I guess it is a Kansas thing I don't understand? Do you guys paint each others nails the same colors? Allen
  23. The closest I have came to fishing was cleaning the leaves out of my boat cover. I have had something to do every weekend day for the last 3 weeks. The next weekend I will have free maybe mid- December? Allen
  24. Pink and purple? Please submit your mancard for a 30 day suspension immediately. Allen
