  7. So I took my batteries to interstate here and they said both run at 900 and are good around 800 so the issue is that they are both cranking. They informed me I need one deep cycle and just one of the cranking batteries
  8. So I’m gonna be looking at older baits, that we’re good at one time and trying to replace them with the new versions. If anyone can help me on this thread that be great. I’ll be bumping this in hope to get responses thank you for any help in advance let’s hAve some fun ps price is not a factor in the comparison just the action of the old and new bait. Lv300- Daiwa TD Vibration-
  9. What crankbaits do you always carry? Do you carry a rod for every depth range crankbait? Example shallow squarebill , mid depth and a couple deep like 6xd and 10xd or?
  10. I heard bluegill go deep during the fall is this wrong
  11. They are both cranking battery’s marine model 24m-xhd then for the trolling they are Duracell 12v
  12. Sorry I explained poorly I have 4 battery’s but two to the motor and the electronics the two others are for the trolling motor. I’m running a 24volt 80lb fortex
  13. I have two brand new interstate battery’s 6 months old. Well the last two days my four bank charger shows they are fully charge both times. But when I go out and fish for 5 hours with two carbons one on stand by 60 percent of the day and running the min motor (150 4 stroke merc) it says warning battery low. now when I test them when home they read 12.3-12.4 after charge they read 13.4 give of take. What’s going on
  14. Ok so I live in Iowa and our water is pretty low. We had a Storm on Monday and Tuesday bright skies with no clouds. How do you personally approach this? What do you look for? I wanted to look for brush piles but didn’t have more than 6 hours to fish in total, do you you look regardless?
  15. https://www.iowadnr.gov/Portals/idnr/uploads/fish/programs/farmpond/PondPlantID.pdf i just found this also I’m assuming almost all will hold fish
  16. Oh I thought pond weed was the type since that’s what the DNR said
  17. Local DNR said we have different pond weed here in Iowa and was trying to learn if this can be fish effectively or if it grows on different kinds of bottoms and what exactly is pond weeds? does anyone here have any knowledge on this topic
  18. So In the fall most lakes in the back of coves are great and a main target, but what if there is no Shad? Most lakes here have a ton of bluegill and crappie. edit-side note no grass is alive this time of year
  19. Spinner bait indiana blades. How do I fish this correctly I know it’s mainly for shallow water but what depth would you stop using this Spinnerbait? Also do you fish it to where you can barely see the blades
  20. Having trouble targeting a waypoint I’ve marked on trolling motor I have the rings on and am one ring away and my arrow pointed right at it and sometimes I’ll hit the brush pile but mostly won’t and it never seems to be a mark and cast it’s always a mark and then fan cast until I hit it. what could cause this? I have a point one and a carbon unit. I’m also marking it on my trolling motor
  21. looking for a midrange size swimbait for the fall the avg size fish here in Iowa is probably 2-3 lbs
  22. so I'm trying to match the hatch at a lake I fish at I know it has a lot of crappie and a decent amount of bluegill, I have yet to see any shad but I have seen small minnow type fish next to trees but I'm not sure what they are ( baby bass or just minnows?) anyway how do you approach a situation like this. also the dnr website does not have any info if there are shad in the lake
  23. So yesterday I posted a selling off your older bait thread the main reason was I have a lot of not so high end baits that I bought when starting out. Examples are strike king crankbaits, sexy dawgs, jerkbaits etc now I don’t have a ton of confidence in these baits and I think it’s just because of the name strike king and realizing they don’t have the best of action in most cases. Do you fish with similar items? Or only fish with your confidence baits? lastly even think it matters.
  24. Does anyone sell some tackle, they decided they just won't use to make room for new stuff? If so how do you go about it without losing to much money most of my stuff hasn't even been used but has been opened
  25. So I'm learning more about map study or trying and I just read something that was very confusing to me it claimed that in the summer a good thing to do on a topo map is to look for relatively flat or gradually slopping contour lines. I've always thought you want to look for closer contour lines in the summer.
