Basstrix setup
What’s your setup for a 5-inch paddle tail swimbait, similar to a Basstrix? Specifically, what rod and line do you prefer?

Deep dives on baits
How important do you think it is to dive deep into specific bait categories? For example, Tactical Bassin’s recent jerkbait seminar covered around 20 different jerkbaits, detailing the ideal time, place, and action for each one. To me, this feels like overkill, though I understand there’s truth in what they’re saying. How many people here go that deep into specific bait types?

Nitro z20 battery issue
There seem to be a lot of options available, and I’m trying to figure out the best course of action. If you were in my shoes and had two batteries that both tested good, but they’re from Interstate and have received poor reviews, what would you do? I don’t want to just waste money replacing them, but at the same time, I want to avoid potential issues when I’m out on the water. I typically spend 8-10 hours out there and need reliable power for the entire trip. Would it make sense to invest in a deep cycle battery, and get rid of one of the interstate?

Nitro z20 battery issue
Here is a pic I honestly don’t know if everything is hooked up right I’ve paid B.A.S.S. pro 1000 dollars in labor and it’s been nothing but headaches with promises it’s fixed. I would love to learn if I’m doing something wrong

Nitro z20 battery issue
Yeah the electronics will shut off after 3 hours if I don’t drive the big engine due to low voltage I do agree they are not a true tell of voltages but last year when I got the boat I never went below 12.8 voltage with the factory wiring but now I am with these new interstates. I'm fine investing into new wiring if this is the fix just why do you think it worked fine last year? am I running the correct batteries for my set up?

Nitro z20 battery issue
I bought the boat last year, and the batteries lasted the entire year. However, Bass Pro said it was time for new ones, so they installed them. After 3 hours, I notice the voltage drops down to 12.1. When I start the main motor, the voltage jumps up to 14, but after I turn off the motor, it quickly drops back down to 12.8 and then returns to 12.1 within about an hour.

Nitro z20 trailer bunks
I have a Nitro Z20 and have noticed slight scratches where the boat sits on the bunks. This is very disappointing since I take great care of my boat. The bunks show some areas where the carpet is matted down, but there is still no exposed wood—just some spots where the carpet fibers appear fluffy. How do you know when it’s time to replace the carpet on your trailer bunks?

Nitro z20 battery issue
Humminbird Helix 10 at the console, Humminbird Helix 9 at the bow, along with a Garmin 10 used for LiveScope. The boat is a Z20 with a 250 Mercury 4-stroke engine. The main batteries are two Interstate AGM 31M. The batteries will not last longer than 3 hours without running the main motor. When I run the motor, it charges them up for a bit but then they quickly

Is this a bait you just put up in these situations or do you personally try to use it when it’s this windy?

Approaching a way point
First, you line up according to the wind. But when do you turn off the big motor and switch to the trolling motor? On average, how slow are you moving when heading to the waypoint on the trolling motor?

Livescope vs old ways
FFS is just a tool, and I completely agree that bass don’t change their behavior. However, my only rebuttal is this: why do you think tournaments are still being won using it, with baits like a Damiki rig during the spawn? I feel good using the Livescope and finding fish, but I guess the issue might be my skill with finesse lures. I just feel like I’m wasting too much time using them. For example, I went fishing last week when the water clarity was around 1 foot. I fished at 8 feet or less and couldn’t get anything to bite in the 3 hours I tried. So, I switched to a chatterbait and started fishing the bank, and slowly started catching some bass. any advice on not wasting a ton of time using these styles of lures?

Livescope vs old ways
I'm doing better the old school way but it's probably because I've had way more time with it in my hands

Livescope vs old ways
I'm currently running into an issue with my style of fishing. I've been fishing like most of you here with spinnerbaits, crankbaits, etc. However, there's no denying that most tournament anglers have switched mainly to finesse fishing while utilizing LiveScope. I still use LiveScope with my older style baits, but it's more for seeing the cover and casting to it, rather than trying to follow my lure the whole time. Lately, I've switched to what most are doing because I mainly want to improve if that's where the game is heading. However, I'm having trouble due to wanting to cast right up in that 5-foot zone where I've caught some nice fish before (some of our lakes don't have a lot of great structure out deep). I also am struggling with the wind I'm casting into it and facing into it but having trouble tracking my lure

Jerkbait trouble

Nitro z20 2020 trailer bunks
I have a 2020 Nitro Z20 boat and I've noticed a bit of wear on the carpet of the trailer bunks. There are two streaks, about 4-6 inches long, where the carpet appears silver due to the fibers being pushed down. Additionally, I observed a small circular hole, approximately the size of a dime, on the right side. I live in Iowa and it seems like there are no professionals who work on these trailers here, so I will need to tackle this myself. Do you have any recommendations for carpet replacement? Also, is there a way to find the measurements of the boards online?

The latest sale thread
@NorcalBassin With the Classic coming up and TacticalBassin doing 8 straight days of a spring buyer's guide, I'm really curious if Tackle Warehouse will surprise us with a Classic sale like the good 'ol days. I know this was posted a few days ago. If there happen to be a sale when did it occur after the classic?
