  1. Where was the cheaper DAIWA zillions?
  2. @heavydutythe color you link seems very close to chartreuse pepper but yeah I can’t find the exact one with that color I think yours will be the closest
  3. @rangerjockeywhat are your favorite colors? @Cattdo you think the new ones work just as well as the old ones?
  4. Which ones would be the close? To the 1.5 and 2.5 @Catt which ones and do they go the same depth I think I see they go to 0-3
  5. I don't mind paying good money for a similar balsa crankbait to the Dave's custom 1.5 and 2.5 but just can't justify $50 dollar each. Trying to get as close as possible
  6. What are your thoughts, on flutter spoon fishing in lakes with no shad but a lot of crappie and bluegill?
  7. No I guess I see a lot of people fishing there when the contours don’t seem great so figured there was
  8. I fish a lot of lakes that have a large amount of standing timber I know to look at the contour lines and not the timber per say unless it shows signs of deepwater etc. I just can't seem to be able to see/find the brush that is mixed in. it all sorta blends together to me is there any tips for this issue?
  9. Medium/fast action spinning rod 8lb test 3/0 ewg for texas rig senko?
  10. Was going to fish the wacky worm more and as trying to think of locations to fish it effectively. (No docks here) So far I have rock on my mind. I did read they can be fished around wood but I don’t see how maybe somebody can help.
  11. Most of our shallow grass if not all has died down. I agree though I just need to learn where the bluegill go and when the crawdads are more active (as far as water temps)
  12. @txchaser where do you get the bacon just make it and put it in a bag or do you buy like bacon bits or something lol
  13. What hook would you use for the 9 and then the 13?
  14. Do you think it would be a ok bait in the summer or does it have to little of action
  15. I have a TON of Dbombs, but here in Iowa there is not much grass that is good for flipping. So I'm having trouble finding a good way or time to use them does any one have any suggestions on when or where for these baits? I'm assuming in the spring and fall flipping to wood since I've heard they have a more of a glide action but am not sure
  16. all the smaller lakes so not big creek, red rock etc
  17. Do the sunfish move shallow? I always thought they stayed on deeper structure prepping for winter
  18. So, I know that it's typical for fish to move towards shallower water like coves as summer comes to an end and temperatures start to cool, especially at night. This transition indicates the arrival of fall. However, I have noticed that in Iowa, many of our lakes lack shad, which are typically followed by bass. Given this difference, I'm curious if bass in Iowa still exhibit a high percentage of heading towards shallow waters during this time, or if their behavior differs.
  19. Oh so you don’t mean mid water column not mid depth like a Swimbait in 8 foot out of 16ft? You just mean something to fish in the midrange depth
  20. @CattTo be a successful angler you only need one topwater, one mid-depth, & one bottom contact lure that you have total confidence in. What would you say was the highest percentage summer mid depth lure? @ol'crickety does weather trends matter much to you when fishing a topwater? or barometric pressure ? example lets say the weather has been very consistent but there was some pop up thunderstorms the day before, but the day your going the pressure is going to be 29.75 and low mph wind. Is that a good stable day to try it since the pressure is lower?
  21. Everything, besides winter
  22. Stuff like this is what I'm looking for, I know its just experience and everyone is different. Just nice to hear what others think
  23. I understand you can't put rules on bass fishing but in general what is a good hint that the morning should have a good topwater bite? or how do you know they probably won't be hitting a topwater as much, based on water conditions? I know the answer is just fish and try it out, but I'm curious to learn based on weather conditions when the odds will be in my favor.
  24. I don't think he should be the only one very odd it was just him
