Belly weighted flukes in a shad or white color can be money. No need for smaller worms imo. I've done way better with 6-9" worms, weightless. Color preference seems to change seasonally a black and/or blues are usually killers as his pumpkin with green/Cooper flake.

Btw most hits are either on a slow fall or after a pause. Patience is 2x crucial in any clear water situation. And I don't sweat the jigs/Weights very closely. A split shot or bullet beats a tube jig imo. The straight fall makes the skirt flair open whereas jigs make the tube fall spin around more like a jerk bait.

Which sled jigs? The smallie sliders? They look pretty good. X2 ive caught more big bass in quarries on a goby coffee tube (sometimes dipped in jjs chartruece) than anything else by FAR. and I've caught a lot of quarry bass ..,the laminate one specifically. I thinks is called goby magic color

They're just overpriced imo. I've done the snap/split rig thing for years. Never gets hung. The weight just comes off on a bad snag. Which is good. I sand the bottom flat so it rides even. Cylinders work well also

Tip for bank fishermen... Get A cheap RC boat. You can drag a deeper all around with it much more quickly than casting. Also easier to monitor what's below your lure this way

For the life of me, I can't see how a swing jig results in any different action then would clamping a "split" bullet weight onto a snap. Anyone?

Just got a portable submersible light (green) and I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried using them in the daytime. Particularly in murky water I would hazard to guess that they should attract the same baitfish that they do in after sundown. J

I was using an older wire leader. Swivel broke. If I had a big swimbait rod that would be choice...i'm just using my 7.2 MH cranking rod. Seems to do ok but the deeper is ridiculously heavy. You can't fling it out, gotta just lob it it still sails farther than any lure tho Heck yea. Like 2X catching a new pb! Lol cheers man

Yep! I just clipped a wire leader to a bobber. Cast out into a 90 ft rock Quarry from up an overhang 15 ft up! Snap on my line (won't be using one of those again) broke and brand new deeper pro+ sailed out free. Snagged it back in 1 cast from another rod. Iread this post just the day before! ???

Update/review: So, after using a couple weeks now...I love them! Super light weight/sensitive and easy to cast from shore around brush etc. Paired With the oversized spool on the sv tw, it almost doubles as a spinning rod as I can easily cast small lures, even weightless senkos quite well. Yet it has a ton of backbone. No problem swinging up 4-5 lbers or ripping a lure from snagged branches. Work just fine for crankbaits etc as well, tho I haven't yet used anything over ⅝ Oz, I'd have no pause in using up to 1.25 oz swimbaits. I really don't see the speed tip breaking from normal use. I'd have to step on it or jam a rock I think.

I wouldn't of thought so but several reviews have said the sv tw needed oil.

Hey guys. Just picked up my first set of baitcasters! (3 total.. tatula ct 100xs 8:1:1, a tatula 103 sv tw 8:1:1 and a Revo rocket LP 9:1:1) So I was hoping for some advice about what type/brands of lube (oil and grease) and cleaner that'd be good buys for all three reels? And possibly some tips... so far the 100xs seems smooth, but the sv tw clicks a bit right out of the box. I've heard they come bone dry. Haven't tested out the rocket yet. Thanks all!!

Lipless mainly but slowing it downs should be fine. I use an 8:1 (~30"/ turn) for everything now. Interesting about Lews. I'll take a look. Thanks!

Just noticed the Most subtle difference, one is about a millimeter shorter than the other. Lol

So, here's a win-win: I ordered one rod, the 610 medium, but was shipped two! Here's the confusing part however... 1 of them was repackaged and probably used, and they have slightly different weight and significantly diff actions. As both are marks the same and look exactly the same it's impossible to tell which is what. I'm wondering if daiwa had missed labeled one of them as either the medium heavy X-fast or the medium light. The only other possibility is batch variation, which I find less likely. Can anyone pls comment as to these possibilities, and how one might determine which is what? As mentioned visually, they are identical.
