  1. I guess it depends on how dirty. If it's full of particulate/mud etc they can't make much difference. When your lure vanishes to the naked eye as soon as it gets wet... ive got nice amber lenses btw. Love em. Yellow also a must for me. In grey, and not super cheap I agree. But for everything else it's absolute night and day btw cheap and quality glasses. Cheap ones are never 100% clarity and that a huge thing.
  2. No. Not in dirty water. They're not Predator heat vision. They'll protect your eyes from stray hooks...
  3. Scratch that I think I got it. Your correct @cadman I was able to force. It over the shaft actually, by placing it over the thumb collar. Seems to work!
  4. Doesn't work if fitted over the collar however. Just blocks it from going inside the shaft. Perhaps it fits somewhere behind the retainer or the pinion gear? Starting to think it's one of the o rings...its a semi soft rubber
  5. I think your right!! Thanks man. Makes sense since the handle assemble is very loose now. Odd since it's not even on the 2000 sh schematic that came with the reel.
  6. If there's no lay downs or brush? Pearl black and chartruece are kinda my go to for most plastics. That's why the black interests me. Anyone try it for low light conditions?
  7. Some interesting colors...I'm eyeing the black chart nose, and maybe root beer metal fk. Which do you like in clear to green-stained waters?
  8. Thanks! But I did not. I took off the bail assembly, spool, handle and side plates. Heres another pic for scale. Hieght about 2mm ...height about 2mm. Pictured here
  9. There's an new article on it on bassresource. Scent matters perhaps as much as anything.
  10. What's swiping? sorry. What do you do when a question gets lost in the feed then?
  11. Totally different presentation. He's nose hooking with a dropshot style hook. More erratic action.
  12. Yea. Hadn't seen it. Wonder if it was his hook or someone else's Bumped so not lost point of question.
  13. It's a good solution. There's several alternatives that come to mind. Superglue, or just melting the plastic over the eye/hook etc
  14. Re: Hobie glasses, I'm considering these in the green-mirrored copper lenses for overcast days. Have you or anyone else tried these? Good choice for the price? thx!
  15. I got this one. Lol Way better action nose hooked, and by fixing the hook into position he's less likely to miss a set than with a loose hook that can slide down toward the cps eye or turn
  16. I love JJ's but am curious about this Dyeing2Fish dipping dye since it comes in different scents. Anyone tried it?
  17. Hey guys. I took my daiwa exceler 2000 HA apart for the 1st time and I can't figure out where this piece fits. Schematics are terrible. Please help!! ??
  18. Just looked up what stupid style actually is. Lol Looks good. Weedless etc. Does is twirl on the retrieve tho?
  19. Agree. Only Clear water for tubes. I used to use 6-8 lb mono for most Plastics but started using braid to 15 lb flouro this year even in the clearest water and haven't noticed any problems. Just more abrasion resistance and works for an type of lure almost. Caught my new PB on this setup last week. Also, anyone tried these massive 6-8 in tubes? Just curious. Seems overkill.
  20. A tubes a tube basically. Long as it's fat. I hate the skinny ones Anyone still using tubes in summer? Seems to work still but small fish hiting it.
  21. Stupid style. Lol. That's a new one. I do that with my wacky rigs sometimes. With 1/20 oz Mushroom head hooks.
