Top 5 trophy bass lures
No problemo I wasn't really sure if you were being rude or not so I tried not to overreact. I just wanted you to know my perspective.

Hand tools
I'm pretty sure my Dad has the same kit branded as Craftsman. I have used it and it seems pretty good for an occasional user. I would say that the 18v Craftsman/B&D falls in the performance range somewhere between 12v and 14v premium brands. I say this because I have a Porter Cable 14.4v and a Dewalt 12v. In other words, you are putting up with the extra weight inherent in the 18v battery pack to achieve nearly the same performance as the lower powered Dewalt, Makita, PC, Milwaukee, etc.

Buzzbaits
I prefer a faster action rod for buzzbaits, but if you like it and it works then go for it.

Top 5 trophy bass lures
The original post asks: "If you had to catch a 10 lber?", not "What have you caught a 10 lber on?" I have never caught a DD, but I live in IN and this is the only place I've ever fished so I don't think that is unusual. I answered with the knowledge that the baits I listed were those I've caught my largest fish on or those in which I have the most confidence to catch a large fish. I'm not trying to scam anyone. If you want to know which baits people have actually used to catch a DD, I think that might be a useful thread for you to start. I would be interested to see how that thread differs from this one.

Hard jerkbait question
Oh, certainly! I used to catch bass on the original Rapala all the time by just swimming it before I found out that wasn't the way one was supposed to fish with them Certain models work better than others, but it's definitely a technique that can work.

Hand tools
Look for amp/hours on the battery and torque from the motor. In both cases, more is better. Buy the best you can afford and handle comfortably.

Sure fire bait???
You have to try pretty darn hard to get skunked on a Senko rigged weightless either wacky style or texas style.

What makes a good top water rod
I imagine it has a slower action which will give the tip a slower feel. This aids in working the baits correctly and works as a shock absorber to help prevent treble hooks from tearing out when fighting the fish.

round baitcasters
These are the same reasons I prefer a round reel for my deep cranking setup. I use 8-10 lb line, of course, but the extra capacity is helpful with the really long casts used in deep cranking.

Match the hatch-or-whatever falls from the tress
That reminds me of a time I was fishing with my kids at a friend's pond. We were having no luck and then I remembered that he feeds them pelletized food every day. I found some brownish grubs and pinched off enough of the tail to make it resemble the food pellets. I placed this "pellet" on a hook under a bobber and the kids started slaying them! Match the "hatch" baby!

Boron Rods
The boron has long intrigued me, but I always assume that if it were actually better than graphite, all the major rod manufacturers would be using it.

A little Whining (Bad Luck)
That's funny. It's even funnier because Australia is "down under" - not Austria. If you could keep your mind off Avril for just five minutes and concentrate on what you are posting this kind of thing wouldn't happen! ;D

My first lucky craft.
God help you. LCs are like crack to the bait monkey. It only takes one try and you're hooked.

Whats your favorite part of bass fishing?
I like the purity of the competition. It's just me vs. the bass. If I am successful I feel very satisfied. If I fail I have no one to blame but myself.

If you see a private lake....
Are you seriously asking this or are you just trolling? Of course you don't fish it. I hope you change your tune or someone changes it for you very soon.

Worm Hooks
Have you tried texposing the hook? You do it like the photo below shows and then you can reinsert the point of the hook into the worm to prevent snags. This rig does not affect weedlessness but greatly improves hookups because there is less plastic for the hook to penetrate.

Chuck woolery MOTO lure????????
Far be it for me to defend Chuck, but the hooks resemble Mustad Triple Grips to me and the Mustads seem to work pretty well.

Scantily Clad Women
This is an open letter to my wife and any other woman who wishes to read it. Ladies, I am not responsible for what that woman was wearing. Really, I have no control over her. As a matter of fact, I doubt I had ever even even seen her before she walked by. I've certainly never spoken to her. So why do you insist on slugging me on the shoulder when we pass by in our van? Did you hit me when I looked at that tree back there? Did I deserve to be punished when I glanced at the children playing in the yard on the other side of the street? No? Then why, oh why must you hit me for looking at the nice lady in the sports bra and short shorts? Please forgive me for her transgressions. Next time I will only look at her once or twice. Next time I will try not to give her several lingering glances while maintaining just enough focus to keep the vehicle on the road. I know your concern for the safety of our children must have been the reason for your anger. I forgive you. Love, Your Adoring Husband

A little Whining (Bad Luck)
Are there any bass in Austria? It's something to think about, no?
-
What would you have done today?
Of course! I've been throwing swimbaits this year, but I seem to forget about them a lot of the time. Old habits die hard.

couple of quick musical comments
OK. Good point, Muddy. What I meant to say was: I can't stand anything recorded by any artist whose first hit was in the last 15 years. I'm sure there are exceptions to this, too, but you get my point.
