State record...
Seriously? I must be really naive. I've never heard of this nor would I have ever thought of it. To what end? Bragging? Food?

My dream come true!
Even when I was in HS I knew I didn't want to leave. Time has not proven me mistaken. I hope your life just gets better and better, though. Good luck and congratulations.

Fishing Haiku Thread
At least you got the structure right Also, I like the excellent use of alliteration. Overall, I give it 8/10 bonzais.

Why they call them "bluegill"
Where's the gill photo?

A weedless crankbait...
When you say "weedless" I assume you are talking about weeds (as in vegetation - not wood), right? In that case, it ain't gonna happen. Weeds will still wrap around the line and the lip is like a big ol' weed shovel. Also, what Brokejew said.

Pretty weird catch......
I've never seen one of those, but for some reason it looks really tasty. Has anyone ever eaten them?

Connecting Knot Caught in Eyelet
Yup, me too. I know where your comin from with the low vis leader. I just don't feel confident without it for many applications, but a couple of feet is plenty. I don't think a bass is smart enough to compute that the thin strand of green whatever, 3 feet or so from the prey is a danger. I wouldn't burn the line smooth. To me it's like playing with fire. : OK, then. Avid has spoken

bullets and fishing
It's never happened to me, but I gotta say if I'm shot at I think getting the heck out of there might be the best course of action. I believe in self defense as much as anybody, but there isn't much cover in a boat. The guy shooting can run and hide while he takes pot shots at you. The boater is stuck.

Rock cliffs
You have to be really careful jerkbaiting close to cliffs, though. You might get distracted and fall off! That one's for you, Muddy!

Reel Question
Just tie it on the spool with the bail open. When you close the bail, start reeling and keep tension on the line while you do. Stop after a few cranks and see if the line is twisted. If it is, flip the spool of new line over and continue until it is filled. Adjust the drag this time Go fish!

Has anyone seen
LOL! Is that suppsed to be good? Berkeley hasnt made anything innovative in 5 years until this now, and I'm sure they stole that off someone. LOL! If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I have caught more fish on Powerbait than I can even count. You should probably stay away from it, though. It's not very innovative.

Connecting Knot Caught in Eyelet
That's a great idea! Does it weaken the line even if you don't burn through?

Why they call them "bluegill"
By golly, I think you've got it! I forgot about hybrids. Yeah, they will eventually take over and eliminate the 'gills.

Topwater aniticipation
Yeah, I got the popper back. The darn thing was snapping at me the whole time, though. I didn't have my pliers handy because I was bank fishing.

Why they call them "bluegill"
I'm not seeing the orange. Looks pale to me. The orange spot on a pumpkinseed is very prominent.

Speaking of Jeffery Dhamer
No, but I can't wait to find out

Interesting...Polygraphs test.....your experiences
Oh yeah, also what Muddy said. Polygraphs are no guarantee that cheaters will be caught, either.

They can also ruin the reputations of innocent people. I have never been subjected to a polygraph nor do I know anyone personally who has. I am simply aware of their shortcomings and the havoc they could potentially wreak on an innocent man. Not only are the instruments inherently inaccurate, the results are subject to interpretation. Two polygraphists can interpret the same results differently. I hate cheaters. I hate liars. There has to be a better way to deter them than the polygraph. If there is not a better way, they still shouldn't be used.

What knot do you guys use with braid and flouro
Welcome to the board! Sorry to give you a hard time on your very first post but you could try looking at the links below. Too many Rod choices?
I compare it to golf when I am questioned about my equipment abundance. I could play an entire round of golf with only a putter, but I wouldn't want to. It is much more enjoyable and I will get much better results with a full complement of clubs.

Loomis expeditor service.
Are you sure it's an allergy? It could have been suicide!

Why they call them "bluegill"
It's actually a green sunfish. See link below. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://nc.water.usgs.gov/albe/Pics/pics_biology2/Fish/images/Green.sunfish.jpg&imgrefurl=http://nc.water.usgs.gov/albe/Pics/pics_biology2/Fish/pages/Green.sunfish.html&h=258&w=480&sz=32&hl=en&start=14&tbnid=pnDLmGIRbnNiiM:&tbnh=69&tbnw=129&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgreen%2Bsunfish%26gbv%3D2%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den

When they absolutely won't bite, what next?
You could drag a shaky head worm or a drop shot in front of them and shake it in their face until they can't stand it.
