Weight difference between Daiwa and Shimano
If you're using it for bass fishing, the 2500 series in either reel will give you plenty of capacity. In that size, there is only 0.1 oz difference. I'm not sure of the reason for your original question, but I suspect that the Daiwa is a smaller bodied reel with a large capacity spool.

question about my rods
If I were in your situation, I would use the money for a new rod. You will be amazed at the difference a quality rod will make in your ability to detect fish. This is especially important when fishing jigs or soft plastics as you do. For $50, you can find a BPS Bionic Blade on sale pretty frequently.

Loomis expeditor service.
Good question. I'm horrible with receipts. I just bought a GLX in March and I'm not sure where the receipt is.

Need help with a setting a hook with a 7" Senko
What kind of line/rod are you using? That's a lot of plastic for the hook to penetrate. The larger hooks also require more power to penetrate the fish. Maybe your rod is lacking backbone or your line has too much stetch. Also, you could try texposing the hook. BTW, I, too, recommend a 5/0 EWG.

new jig
Do you think the combination of textures increases the action, makes the fish hold on longer or both? Or is it just a creative thing? Nice.

Why do you like senko's?
1. Texas rigged weightless 2. Green Pumpkin w/ Black Flake (#297) 3. Cast it to a fishy looking place and let it sink all the way to the bottom. Sweep your rod tip slowly to move it a little. Let it sink again. Repeat until you are out of the percieved strike zone. Vary the amount of time you let it sit. Some guys (who are more patient than me) fish these very slowly with great success. If you are not getting bit, mix up the speed of the sweep as well.

question about my rods
Can you give us an idea of the budget you have and the primary techniques and baits that you use?

I need knot help
Also, pull both ends of the line slowly until it tightens up. Finish the knot by pulling firmly on the tag end, not the line end.

Which Reel is Better...
I love my Shimano Citicas, but I must admit, the guys on here with the Revos are falling all over themselves to tell everyone how great they are. If, after a few years, the Revos hold up well I may try one myself. Right now, I know the Citicas are going to last a good long time.

Why they call them "bluegill"
There's a pumpkinseed. See link below.

rings at bps
I don't see any of the rubber ones on their website. You can use a large split ring, so you might go that route.

Spincast reels ?
They don't make them like they used to. My dad has a couple that are 30+ years old and they are much smoother and cast better than any of the newer ones I've bought.

Spinning Reel: Pflueger President or Supreme
Cool. I don't mind making people mad, but only when I intend to.

To kiss or not to kiss?
OK, Avid. You win. Nice mental image there.

Spinning Reel: Pflueger President or Supreme
If this means I have soemhow offended you, I'm sorry. I was just trying to be funny since you and Muddy are usually the biggest defenders of Pflueger on here. No offense intended.

Tiger Muskies are Tenacious!
First of all, I think you're right. If I had landed the fish I might not have known it wasn't hooked and I probably would have never posted about it. The best part of this fight and most others for me is the final surge when it sees the boat. The drag stripping speed is awesome!

Strike King ZERO...any thoughts?
I like them. I think they have a lot of action and the sink rate is good. I primarily bought them because of durability, but there is so much salt, they don't stay together very well despite the 3X. They are more durable than a GYCB, but what isn't. I still like the Senko better overall.

T rig
OK I'm actually a texskinner then. I've never heard that term before. Did you make that up? I hope so. I can then tell everyone I was there when the term was coined.

To kiss or not to kiss?
If it's a male bass, I pat him on the back and shake his fin ;D

Spinning Reel: Pflueger President or Supreme
Dodgeguy's post really had me going there for a minute. I'm glad Muddy came along to restore my faith in the Pflueger posse ;D For the record, I agree with Dodgeguy, but most people probably won't notice so Muddy isn't really wrong either.

Kevin Van Dam Combo
If you're talking about the Citica combo, you won't be dissapointed. Good luck and let us know how you like it.

State record...
So what I'm being told, is that if I catch a bass thats of record size and don't immediately release it, thats is considered illegal. I thought that as long as the fish returns back to its body of water, it isn't considered actually keeping/harvesting it. For those of you that disagree with me, many many tournaments occur when fish have to be released. If catching a fish and sticking it in your livewell all day, then weighing it afterwards isn't then considered illegal, then what is? I see no difference between this and having it examined for the record books. This might vary by state or perhaps the tournaments apply for a waiver, but as far as I nkow this is generally correct. The fish must be immediately released if it is out of season.

Need advice??? Spinning rod
Then I wouldn't worry about it. Some guys use casting equipment for everything.
