Incredibly disappointing. The only positive here is that potentially some of these 'invasive species' will find their way into some CA reservoirs, which means that the fishing at San Luis Reservoir and O'Neill Forebay could get exponentially better. These two bodies of water also happen to be in my backyard. I don't know if there's any correlation, but I've heard from friends that the striped bass and large mouth fishing in the Delta has been steadily getting worse. Could there be some initial harvesting already happening?

I fish alone from time to time, and in the past I'd not wear my life jacket. I'm ordering a couple of the waist life preservers in order to wear one at all times when I do happen to fish alone. The life vest goes on when I fire up the large motor, off when not in use. For the most part, I fish with my dad. When not with him I do fish with my wife. He doesn't particularly like wearing the vest. My dad is approaching 79 this year and I make sure to give him the extra time he needs to get positioned in the boat. That usually means holding steady so he can use my shoulder to get up on the back deck and in his seat, and vice versa when it's time to move to another spot. I also hand him his fishing rod that's ready to go as well when he's ready for it. I see it as an honor to do this for him.

Kangaroos have claws that would rip you open with a properly placed kick. This could have ended badly for the guy or the dog. On a side note, the guy that punched the kangaroo is now being harassed by animal rights activists. I'd like to see one of them get cornered by a kangaroo and see how they handle the situation....
