  1. We all know about the intersexing of smallies on the Potomac but new research has found the intersexing of smallies on two other great local waters the Monocacy and Conocheuge(sorry bout spelling). I dont know the exact link but it is on the Frederick News Post website. Very interesting
  2. come on now don't rub it in. U are not alone brother. All my lakes are frozen two inches. No ice fishin no bassin. But if u look on the brightside BPS spring fever and ice out are just around the corner.
  3. if i am not mistaken that looks like a coleman crawdad. Sweet
  4. rapala x rap and a bps magnum tube
  5. nothing wrong with tourny specials, but if you have the money I would go with the bionic blades or extremes.
  6. Don't get me wrong I love bandits, but when bouncing off timber i like a fatter crank. Its just preference. Thats why I like the mann's minuses
  7. I have two options for you that work for me. 1. try to fish it as early as possible in the year as you can. There aren't that many die hards out there in Febuary and March. You won't get a lot of bites, but they will be good ones. 2. a lot of people think big bait=big fish. i dont always think so. try downsizing and moving offshore. Some of my biggest fish come off of d-shots and sliders.
  8. I have never tried it but i did try there mono once and it was crap. You can't beat fireline i think its the best braid on the market. The new fireline crystal is amazing, it is way less visable then other braids. Highly recommended.
  9. The day I stop getting excited over a fish i am gonna shoot myself in the head.
  10. Thats one hundred percent correct.
  11. Come on Munkin. I for one dont know why people dont like the power hump. I love it. Like it was said before, lamiglass and american rodsmiths make the highest quality composite, the crankin stick is an awsome rod for the money. I have two a 6'6 m and a 7' mh. I love them.
  12. Since you love plastics, you might want to try one of my favorite tricks. Its called worming a crankbait. It was made famous by Bill Dance back in the day. You fish it the same way you would a t-rig worm. Reel a little and raise the rod tip. Lower the rod. Repeat. Raising the rod brings the crank up about two or three feet and results in vicious reaction strikes. Good luck with your cranks.
  13. I do a lot of shakey heading i have to say that I think it is hard to beat the strike king 3x finesse worm. they are real buoyant, so the tail sticks off the bottom. You can also vatch like 15 bass on one plastic.
  14. Listen to fivebasslimit on this one. My brother has one of the new David Fritts reels and I have last years model. They can cast a country mile and when matched up with the right rod, you can throw it all day. The new reels have a longer handle, giving you more leverage while crankin ina hawg.
  15. KVD all the way. I would also like to add Luke Clausen and Aaron Martins to that list. Both of them had solid a year.
  16. I have three ideas: Trolling Motor Bird Rocks
  17. Yep,all winter long. That new BPS catalog always shows up right on time. I hear that. I just got mine two days ago and have already looked through it one hundred times( and probally a hundred more by the end of today). I have found that scouting is a good time consumer in the winter. Most lakes are drawn down and you can get a good look at some new structure. Some lakes even let you plant your own. I always bring the camra along and take pictures of the area I'm scouting, that way in the summer I know whats there.
  18. I have always had success on fishing any power plant lake with a suspended jerkbait by the discharge spot. It is kind of a no brainer, but it works to load the boat. I don't know your preference, but I like Rogues.
