  1. Dang nice stuff- I like it all especially the reel and the Lucky Craft RC!!! That reel is very nice you will not be dissapointed- I LOVE mine
  2. Pretty much where I stand on megastrike as well-
  3. I have a Lucky Craft RC 2.5 that is barely copper perch cause the paint is all but gone!!! Still works well too
  4. I have multiple traps with many "tours of duty" traps get beat up really easy but they seem to keep on truck'n.
  5. How small of cranks can ya go before it is overkill RW???
  6. Just thought I'd see what you guys are using- I fish for a lot of smallmouth hence the tube/grub question. My favorite is this baitcasting combo; 6'8" Kistler Magnesium TS MH Fast Action with a Shimano 1001MG Scorpion reel "yep lefty"(moded with a carbon fiber Bassart reel handle). Super light and sensitive package - I like to use 1/8 to 1/4oz jigheads with hook exposed on Tubes and Grubs- 6 to 10lb flourocarbon line depending on where I am at - great combo thought I'd share it
  7. I looked cant find any 1 or even 2 inch ones i bet if he did make um they would be plenty soft just what im lookin for not sure where you are from but here in the northwest I would tell you to get some Khalins or Jerry's grubs- you might find them around I am not sure... they are all over here in southern Idaho good for smallmouth too.
  8. I like the fireline crystal on my jerkbait set up- cool cause my non-boater didn't even know I was using it because of its color, my bait went a good 3 or 4ft deeper and I got most the bites LOL... with my experience using fireline you need to retie quite often because any fray will weeken it substanially-
  9. Yamamoto makes there grubs with pretty long tails-
  10. a green pumpkin red flake kamakazee hitzit tube 3.5" with a 1/8oz tube jighead rigged hook exposed should get a very close second (honorable mention) to my Chartruse Shad LV100!!!! Just one bait man that would be horrible :-/
  11. I don't know if this has been mentioned yet (I don't feel like reading all the replies)- get a couple 3/8 or 1/2oz'ers and buy some of the blades seperately- play around with them see what you like without purchasing a bunch of different baits-
  12. look below in my signature- Skeeter ZX250 HPDI 300HP paid in full
  13. drive it for what it is- not enough gains to even worry about it-
  14. A man can never have to many fishing rods no matter what the brand- it is easier to lend them out that way LOL-
  15. I was not a fan of the red either- very hard to see. Just as well use regular Flouro is what I figured. Using a good fishing line can not be overstated- I am very line consious, it has to fit the technique and be fresh.
  16. I agree with this- the line has pretty much no memory. I have stored my boat outside and my rods in the boat rod locker- because I was inbetween houses- no garage. But yeah the hybrid and ultra soft line I had on my reels and extra spools were the same as they were brand new- BTW here in southern Idaho we had 15 or 20 days of 100F heat while the boat was outside covered calling the rod locker a sauna would be a major understatement.
  17. I just bought a quantum PT tour edition rod on ebay last week- just got it today. Got it to the door for $104.95. It is a medium 7'er I intend to use with my 7:1 reel fishing rat'L'traps. I will let ya all know how it is- man my rod collection is pretty diverse now, guess I had to try a little bit of everything.
  18. The quality and productivity of Lucky Craft lures is amazing, but you should not fish them from the bank and as Raul noted, you better have a retriever that works! Fishing any high priced crank bait from the bank is a bad idea- consider it gone or be ready to feel the devistation!!!
  19. RW that BayCat is one of the coolest boats I have seen in a long time- very original. That would make a great flats boat in Florida!!!
  20. What do you suggest for a lake that usually has big waves? The lake I fish in has 3-5 foot waves. But would also like to bring my family boating whenever I am not fishing. 3-5 foot waves- get a v-hull stay away from flat bottom boats
  21. Here is a Diawa frog rod for ya: http://www.***.com/descpageRDCDAIWA-TDLTFR.html
  22. I like the looks of those hooks lightningRod- just bought some thanx
  23. No one has done that in this thread. However, there is quite a bit of Loomis elitism bandied about on this board. I personally don't care if you fish with a Loomis or just tie your line to your willy - and I don't care if you think that about me. I am curious whether or not Loomis is really good enough IN MY OPIONION to justify the huge cost - and this is the forum where I gather the information to make my own decision. For me, my opinion in the most important. Nice showing your true colors I see... figures LOL
