Need Rat-L- Trap advice
I remember when I first started fishing with a trap it took a while to get my first fish- had a very hard time getting confidence with them... as I kept getting knocked off in tournaments by guys using them I had to rethink my game plan- I went fishing with a guy that used them quite often and watched and learned- once I saw how he played with the retrieves and such I learned more than what you could ever read in a magazine or a forum- the best bet is to learn from someone that has experience but never give up especially on a rattle trap- now I always have one tied on

Lipless Frustration to Lipless lovE
the most versitle bait in the tackle box- any retrieve will work depending on what the fish want- I will burn them and other times I will fish them like a jig off the bottom.

Reel not properly fitting in the seat?
you know I am glad you brought this up- kinda a weird deal... I have a kistler magnesium and a curado 100d mounted on it- I swear every now and then the reel slips back in the seat- after reeling in I will check it and all feels tight- kinda weird??? yeah I swear I got that thing locked down with all my strength suprised I have not busted the handle yet- now I will try the Electrical tape deal- thanx for the tips

norman lures
Just noticed your screen name "DEEP-CRANKER"- that confirms you should grab a couple Norman DD22's and crank away

norman lures
Norman lures are very good- I still can't believe how nicely priced they are. very durable and I have never had one out of tune... well some at my fault... their crankbaits have won a lot of tournaments- just pick up a bassmaster and you will always hear about a guy doing well with a DD22 seems to be a popular model- plus they have MANY different colors to choose from- yep cant go wrong with a Norman

swivels or snaps
I retie enough that snaps/swivels are pointless for me- I always tie to a split ring on hard baits except the ones that are designed for the snaps- like a luhr jensen, and I still retie like I am obsessive compulsive LOL- acutally I always check the line for any abrassion but find it a lot

Your favorite square billed crankbait?
so lets hear it- some of mine; 1. Speed Trap 2. RC 1.5 and 2.5 3. Daiwa thin lip

QUANTUM TOUR PT ROD PTC705F- casting Med 7'
Just bought it- hoping it will be a nice cranking rod- got a good deal so not much of a risk. Anyone have any feedback/info? Should get it by the end of the week- I will repost and give an unbiased report on the rod- I have not found many posts on the Tour PT rods- I am a kistler/Loomis guy myself

Spinning crankbait rod
at one time I used all MH rods for everything like Rick Clunn says- I lost some fish using the MH with cranks- began using M for cranks and found my fish landing ratio increase. It all depends on the size of the crank being tossed tho- if you are using a heavier rod for treble hooked baits try to lighten the drag that will help keep the trebs in the fish- make sure you keep line tension tho

If you only had 3 lures in the fall
1. Bill Lewis original 1/2oz rat-L-trap 2. Luhr Jensen speed trap 1/4oz 3. Kamakazee 3.5in Hitzit tube with tube jighead rigged honorable mention Storm original wiggle wart colors are important but will very per lake- hint, I like craw patterns

Vicious line?
It seems to me that it is unlikely that the line will change no matter how new the product- There is nothing wrong with this line, just use it where it excells- I like it with power techniques due to its stiffnesss/rigidness and it seems that you can get away with fishing a pound or two less than other brands in any given situation due to it being a bit larger in diameter across the board- kinda like the Yo-Zuri lines-

G. Loomis, fragile?
broke one- the handle came a part from the blank used it solidly for 3 years- paid $20 shipping and a week later a brand new one came in the mail- great rods but from time to time any rod can brake. take the best care of them you can and when in the event of a brake- spend the $20 send it in and get a new rod, plain and simple

Vicious line?
I bought 550yrds for the 8lb flourocarbon from tackle warehouse used it all- it is very strong and abrasion resistant- although it is very stiff- do not use it on spinning tackle- it is the stiffest line I have ever been around- on baitcasting reels it is just fine and I really like it- very economical. the strongest flourocarbon I have been around

Shimano Curados, 101 and 201?
I love my curado 101d- great reel, probably the best I own righ up there with my scorpion 1001mg, the japanesse version of the chronarch 50mg... Great reels very comfortable in the hand/palm- I use them for everything- I do not use swimbaits tho-

Favorite Rattle Trap (Vibration) bait type/brand
I just want to see what you guys are using for rattle traps, I have used them more this year than any other- I would like to possibly know what colors you like in your brand of choice- I am sure this has been brought up before but what the heck!

recoil guides?
That's pretty surprising; the tips are Fuji SIC's. I own 2 glx's with the recoil guides a BSR852 and a DSR820- no issues so far and the natural is right the tips are not a reciol-they are fuji sic.
