  1. seagar invisx flourocarbon #6 for most soft plastics. realize I fish primarily in Idaho and Oregon and the water just dosen't get any more clear than that.
  2. I bought one of the scorpion mg 1001's from Ginrin Peche- showed up yesterday and was new in the original box. smooth transaction
  3. if you only buy in person you are gonna miss out on a lot of good internet deals. I don't buy any rods/reels around home because everything is way high retail and or not available locally- do some research and ask q's- I have not bought anything I don't like "fishing wise"- sight unseen.
  4. no worries- 2moro eve- I will tell about the steez- I want to post pics as well. gotta get the camera from work. It is amazing-
  5. I am a daiwa spinning fan. I own a fuego 2000- I think it would be a perfect match for your 6'6" ML setup. Look on ebay for one or just buy one like I did from ***.com-
  6. gotta get some- I have a bunch of the shallow ones- they have done very well for me- so well I was debating on mentioning it!
  7. most of them have the same exact parts as their american cousins- not sure why on one wants to work on them?
  8. I am Right handed and Left hand retrieve for me- tried the right hand retrieve at 1st and felt strange-
  9. my dad has quite the collection of Loomis rods- bass fishes all the time and is a hook setting freak- he uses his bass Loomis rods for steelhead drift fishing- and sets the hooks on them like they are muskie- never broke a rod on a hookset-
  10. Avid- Up here in Idaho the water is gin-clear as they say except for some of the spring and I fish from a boat most of the time, this makes my line choice 6lb test and flourocarbon and I really like the seagar invisx- good stuff. Up here it is almost mandatory to fish lite lines and flouro with plastics- most of the time anyway.
  11. yeah a nice guy that knows his stuff- in the short time I have been on here I have learned a fair amount from his posts- can't imagine what a book would be like- gotta be good.
  12. hell yeah you got the BSR852 GLX from Fatfish! I got mine from him as well- the rod is outstanding you will love it- I am gunna put my steez 2500 on it when I see the reel- should get it Friday. I'll keep everyone posted on what I think of the combo-
  13. Nice looking stuff ya got there-
  14. lightninrod Dan knows his japanesse fishing equipment; man I am tell'n ya- ;D
  15. I use a 6'6" medium action bionic blade with an older style chronarh spooled with 10-12lb mono- caught a lot of fish with it- I don't think you need a very sensitive "high end rod" for a spinnerbait-
  16. It is amazing how he can sell them at that price- I hope some other ticked off japanesse guy dosen't wack'em with the bushido blade- LOL>
  17. It is a great finesse real- I just ordered a scorpion 1001mg which is the japanesse model of the chronarch 51- not much line capacity but it's purpose built for light gear- you can use it however you want- I have a curado 101d that is the same size just heavier not magnesium and it was great on my mbr783 C if you don't know loomis language: its a 6'6 medium heavy fast action rod. hope this helps.
  18. yeah I just bought a carbon fiber handle from him for my scorpion 1001mg- guaranteed to be the only guy from Idaho with a reel like that! thanx again lightninrod- the deep south is cool I lived in Tampa FL for a short time- I'll post pics of the reel when I get everything- I am bringing in aftermarket drag peices for it as well.
  19. Hey awesome Lightning rod- you know where all the cool stuff is-
  20. I can't wait til it comes in- I have a Curado 101d and love it this one will be a bit lighter. I think I might have a weird fettish with these small shimano's, that curado 101 was without a doubt my favorite new reel last summer. Believe it or not- I have used 6lb flouro with the 101d- took some patience but I got it- a great finesse reel- can't wait for the scorpion 1001mg!
  21. I agree with fourbizzle, I have a curado 101d and it is awesome for finesse fishing-
  22. I am glad I could help you guys find a good deal- I see that there is only one 1001mg left now- Ha Ha. "The_Natural" a member of this forum should get the credit thats how I found these reels. There are several right hand models still-
  23. thanx to The_Natural: I just bought this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-Bait-casting-reel-Scorpion-MG1001-50MG-ARB_W0QQitemZ140059362861QQihZ004QQcategoryZ36146QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem after reading this last reply I went and bought it- I almost got a chronarch 51mg a week ago.
  24. I just bought this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-Bait-casting-reel-Scorpion-MG1001-50MG-ARB_W0QQitemZ140059362861QQihZ004QQcategoryZ36146QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem For the money I could not beat it- let me know how different it is than a chronarch 51mg if any. I wanted the Chronarch model but for $175.00 I could not pass up the scorpion- I think they are the same just one is from Japan and the other a domestic model.
  25. my favorite baitcasting combo is a mbr783 GL3 with an 06' curado 101d. I use it primarily for football headed jigs/spider. I caught a lot of fish with that rig.
