  1. get a daiwa and some seagar invisx- LOL, J/K.... looks like line twist for sure
  2. the stella is 2nd rate compared to the steez-
  3. I consider some lucky crafts to be "unlucky crafts" LOL- love the jerbaits tho- pointer/staysees... ;D
  4. who knows if it is real or not- these days a lot can be done with images- weird how his left hand is holding the fish's tail section- I have fished for smallmouth most my life and have never seen one that green before- cool looking fish though-
  5. rattles in really dirty water
  6. megabass pop max
  7. great baits- good for cold water smallies
  8. that is crazy- for a pointer?!?! :-/
  9. flouro for sure- just remember not everyone on here uses yo-zuri hybrid it just sounds like it- ;D
  10. I want a zillion in a bad way! ;D
  11. I start out with all brakes out/engauged- then disengauge them(click them in) one at a time til it is set properly to the bait I am tossing. I generally set the line/drop knob very fast and stop the spool with my thumb as my bait hits the water- if you learn to do this you will get a lot more casting distance.
  12. do what makes you happy- don't spend more than you can afford. that being said lighter more sensitive equipment will put more fish in the boat- I will argue that til the end of time. true a better fisherman with lesser equipment will outfish a not so good fisherman that has high end equipment most of the time. Let the better fisherman use the high end equipment and he will improve on himself. the differences in outfits is not always directly cost related: be mindful of what is out there and make an educated well thought out purchase and the $500.00 dollar combo will be just as good as a 8 to 900 dollar Steez combo- IMO... Just know when you actually need or can use that higher end sensitve gear; I would suggest buying the higher end stuff for worm/jigging/drop-shot/carolina rigging ect, and not spend so much on say top water/spinnerbait/crankbait rigs- the reaction type bites are; they are either on or not- where as you can use the increased sensitivity more on finesse oriented tactics.
  13. I use 8lb carbon pro flouro on my baitcaster for jerkbaits with no problems... I think it is much more comfortable to jerk with a baitcaster than a spinning rig- just my .02-
  14. looks like a nice bait for sure-
  15. Here is what one looks like:
  16. Anyone try one of these? They look pretty good and got 2 off of ebay. I want to hear some input; success and techniques used to fish them.
  17. 7' MH Bass Pro Rick Clunn crankbait rod model 703C. Don't let the MH scare you off cause it is not that Heavy really- great crankbait rod for a great price as well. Probly my most unexpensive setup but also one of my most productive. I use 8 to 12lb test line depending on the area I am at spooled on a 3.8:1 Curado- I like the slow ratio for cranks!!! :-X
  18. I "internet" most all of my baits anymore. Spend $50 at tackle warehouse and the shipping is free plus no sales tax outside of Cali.
  19. you have seen what I use, 10lb flouro, Bass Pro 6'6" Med Lt crank'n stick, shimano chronarch 6.2:1 reel. I don't like the fire line with the leader cuase I lost probably $60 in jerks that way- takes too long to rig up and with the flouro you need to re-tie a lot more. My dad still uses the leader but our catch ratio is about the same.
  20. KU I know the feeling- good choice that little curado is a great reel.
  21. good looking baits for sure- keep us up to date on how they work out for you.
  22. I really like the Bass Pro lipless rattle traps.
  23. topwater crankbait? like a wakebait? my favorite topwater is a megabass pop-max; PM Ragio color.
  24. ?????, I found some used fishing line on the shore, now what? should I put it on my steez/glx combo?
  25. I like this kind of gossip- makes you wonder what the guys "really use".
